Legends of Belariath

Faith

Twenty-one human years ago, in the desert sands, a babe was born under bad stigmata of the dark god. the annual lunar eclipses and a sandstorm.

To the husband of the house, it was a sign to leave the babe to die in the storm and harshness of the desert. To her mother, the babe was a sign from the godesses, Calasta & Elania, that there was still life to be lived in the storms and darkness. So her mother pleaded to let her keep the babe, to which the patriarch gave the woman seven days to make the decision about the path of the babe. On the seventh day, the sun rose into the sky, storms subsided. This led to her mother keeping the babe and naming her Faith.

Her childhood in Har`amrun was just the same as any other child. They had school and house duties, but she became fearful of fire magics, one favored in the house bloodline. At the age of 15 (human years) she was taken in by the Patriarch to stay with him until he could choose a path best suitable for her life to take. For 3 years, she studied but could never pass the fear. At 18 (human years) she was chosen by the Patriarch to be wed away to another Elder house to continue the bloodline of the house with husband Malik Al`Din.

When the annual eclipses came about that year, she left to go north until she would have to return in 50 years(human) to return to her fate in the house. A week north was a torian village where a torian wanted to capture her as a slave, in defense her magics began to surge and froze the man to death. After revived, he sentenced her to a week in a cage, center of the town. no food and definately no water.

In a month time she found herself more north in cold weather wearing desert clothing. at an inn a man thought she was a slave, grabbed her, she froze his hand. he decided to display her on slave poles, just after a blizzard came about and he ran calling her an ice witch. For a week, she was left there, same as the cage, but no rest either. That 7th day, a torian of the same red hair and gold eyes seems to walk right up to her, but it was not the same one.

This one offered to help her& take care of her and thus owed him the same in return.
