Legends of Belariath

Quinnaria

Quinnaria was born into a rather odd family. Her father was Tyiarus Thorntreader , a Sylvan Elf Ranger that had a rather bad case of wanderlust. He traveled since he came of age and very rarely visited the same place more than twice. He was forever searching for something different, new stories , adventures and people. Quinnaria's mother on the other hand had lived a life of slavery. Naniara was born into slavery , she was a third generation slave, her parents were slaves breed together to create more slaves as were her descendents before her. Her line was usually well sought after , bought by nobles , though in Naniara's case a high bidding slaver got a hold of her and treated her rather badly. It was upon one of these situations that Tyiarus stumbled upon. Naniara had been beaten within a inch of her life and left in the woods to die , the slaver had thought her good as dead and didn't want to spend the money on healing her.

Tyiarus healed and took care of Naniara for a couple of weeks and during this time he had for the first time in his life wanted a companion to join him in his travels. Several years had passed and the love for each other never dulled, she loved learning about the world she never knew and he loved showing her that world. Quinnaria was born to these two travelers after they were together for near 9 years , they had not planned on her but were still overjoyed with the child. Though they both knew that her being a halfbreed would be a challenge for her , they had no plans to stop traveling so hoped this spared her from being chastised or ridiculed by either side of her race.

Quinnaria grew to love the woods , and learn everything her parents had to teach her about them. She had met a large variety of races and seen many different landscapes throughout her childhood to adulthood. Then came a time when her need to do more than travel became to much , she was tired of moving so quickly from town to town , never getting to learn more about people , learn a profession completely instead of knowing only enough to get a small bit of coin and move on. It was at this time her parents realized she did not have the wanderlust that dwelled inside them and with this they gave her there blessing to leave , to strike out in the world and find her own path.
