Legends of Belariath

Satine

Deep within the forests her family lived, keeping out of sight of others, closing themselves off to the rest of the world but it wasn't enough for one little red headed sylvan that wanted to see the rest of the world. She was to be joined with her childhood friend soon and though she loved him dearly there was so much more she wanted to do and see and so, in the middle of the night, she slipped from the home she loved very dearly and her whole family to go see the world with her own eyes.

Though she loved what she found, the different races and markets of towns, the music and entertainment she found and studied for a bit eventually she was missing home and her best friend. It was a night in the tavern and the little red head had her harp upon the stage and was singing, a soft sway of her curvy form that drew the attention of the barbarians that were drinking at a nearby table. Their plans went unheard as they planned on keeping her for their own and so when she tried to leave, her path was blocked. It was then she realized of their intent and so she used her strengths of quicker movements and that she was so small she escaped them and ran. Thinking that she lost them she headed to her home, leading them straight to all those loved and cared for.

In the attempt to hide her, protect her, everyday she knew and loved was slaughtered. Fires rose from houses and children were screaming in their beds. The sounds would haunt her for the rest of her life but what broke her heart was watching one of their blades pierce her soon to be husbands heart. Eventually all were dead around her and she no longer had the heart to fight, falling into despair and taken into captivity. Eventually she would grow strong again, eager to leave those that thought only to use her and she plotted against those that kept her bound night and day, that destroyed her life so easily and with her voice, her singing.. she lured one to her side night, seducing him into thinking she would never harm him, had fallen in love with him until he let his guard down.

That was the night she cut his throat, fled from him and never looked back, sure that others were going to hunt her down for the death of one of their warriors. It was that, that brought her to the Empire, that had her seeking refuge within the inn and the night that had her eyes falling upon the chirot, the power he welded and the way he held himself had her fascinated. Eventually Satine would become concubine of the headmaster of Unigo, learning to study magic as Takao did.
