Legends of Belariath

Alissia

Alissia is a Sylvan Elf of slight build, delicate and slender. Her curves, however, are full and alluring, usually straining suggestively against the clothing she wears. The latter changes sometimes, but usually she wears something that reveals by concealing. Her creamy skin is soft and perfectly flawless. Her ears are finely pointed, not covered by the flowing sun-colored hair reaching down almost to her waist. Amid those golden strands is a face of beauty and elven agelessness -- and yet, it almost seems to radiate youthfulness. This is supported by her eyes, certainly her most striking feature. Their green gaze constantly sparkles with life, and with a sultry sensuality, but at the same time they bear a slight touch of naive innocence -- but is it real? -- that only accentuates the sweet seductive glitter.

Alissia grew up in a small village of Sylvan Elves deep in the woods. Her parents were both mages, and a few years after her birth she showed some magical talents herself. Overjoyed, her parents tutored her in the arcane arts. Alissia learned avidly, though she might have learned even more if she hadn't spent most of her time wandering through the woods or frolicking with her friends. Still, Alissia was finally ackowledged a true mage, if one lacking in experience. It was hardly a year from that day that the tragedy happened.

Completely unexpected, a group of marauding orcs attacked the elves one day, killing all they could find. The village had always counted mainly on seclusion for defence, and did not have many warriors. As their dwellings went up in flame, those elves that could escape the goblins' butchery fled, but the orcs pursued them. In the chaos that ensued, Alissia lost her parents and ended up fleeing out of the forest with a few other elves who had been injured--apparently not badly. They finally managed to reach a small town named Dalan, some distance away from the Lonely Inn, which was mainly inhabited by humans, who looked on the elves with some mistrust. Still, they were taken in -- but soon Alissia's companions died, victims of the vicious poison that the orcish blades had set into their wounds.

Stranded, lost, not knowing if her parents were even alive, Alissia forced herself to survive. She was, in a way, lucky to be hired by an inn as a waitress. As years went by, she was molded by the rules of modesty and 'decency' imposed on her, shaming free behaviour and pride in her body that had been normal in the forest. And those rules were rather hypocritical, seeing as there were many brothels and dens of lust in Dalan, and men enough who frequented them. Alissia's inn was one of the few that did not employ several prostitutes -- which is probably the reason why it had to close, leaving Alissia on the streets. The people of Dalan usually frowned on non-humans, and no one would hire her, or even give her some coppers if she was begging. Only one recourse was left to her: prostitution.

With the shyness and sense of 'decency' that had been instilled to her, the idea revolted Alissia even more than would be expected, yet it was the only alternative to debt slavery. With tears in her eyes, she spent her last coins on a revealing outfit and took to walking the streets. It did not take long until her elven beauty brought her first customer. That one payed well, but certainly not out of compassion; he took Alissia in the most brutal ways imaginable, hurting her for his pleasure before leaving her crying and bleeding in the gutter. Then fortune smiled on her. A woman named Daria found her, and took pity on her. She brought her to a healer, then took her to the Golden Barrel, a tavern she owned with her husband Kardon, and again Alissia was working as a waitress. It was like a story restarting from the beginning -- and indeed, soon the Barrel was losing more and more customers. Desperate not to lose this new chance, Alissia proposed to entertain guests with magical displays, only to learn that magic provoked suspicion and fear in Dalan. Only one other skill did Alissia remember-the dances taught to her in the forest. By now these seemed shamefully sensuous to her, yet she pulled herself together and performed--and the people of Dalan were stunned by her gracious movements. Despite her embarassment, Alissia performed nearly every night, and soon the Golden Barrel was prospering again.

On one off her days off, Alissia was wandering through the woods some distance away, and stumbled upon the Lonely Inn. Rejoicing at the chance to meet others of her kind again, she often came to visit the establishement, and so came to meet the slave girl Catirena, who had a interesting background herself. Soon, the two of them fell madly in love with each other, and Catirena helped Alissia to overcome her shyness, find pride and pleasure in her body again.

While she is still a dancer at the Golden Barrel, Alissia now spends most of her time in the Lonely Inn with her friends and with the lover, who gave her back the joy of life.
