Legends of Belariath

Amalthea

After undergoing half of the coming of age traditions of her clan, Amalthea was forced to return home. Her father, Marster, had passed away and she would be left to the elders to decide her fate as her father was an elder of the tribe. After much debate and many men wanting to have her as if she were about to be outcast or stripped of her clan, the other elders would have her treated as the other men during thier coming of age. After nearly three weeks of silence and wait in the spirit hut with the elders to await word of her quest, it finally came to be.

She was to seek out the missing elder who seeks the cloak of another. Many elders of her clan were confused by the spirits as well, yet Amalthea would do all she could to keep her clan rights in her family.

Though her coming of age would not be complete until she did this task, the spirits lept from the flame to burn at her back and leave the mark of the Red Fist. The elders said it was the spirit of Marster who allowed her to bear it for her own protection, the task still need to be completed.

Once she exited the spirit hut, the women of the clan donned her in white and carried on with the women's traditions in the coming of age. The Elders allowed her to wear the cloak of her father that was blue but also had white upon it to keep with the traditions of the white colors. Her reminder of her father. Upon leaving her village,Hagard, she was the only female to ever go through both coming of age ceremonies, though she still had one large task to complete to truely be Red Fist once again.

She let her feet carry her as she knew the great father would lead her way, though it seemed Masten would want the woman of both ceremonies to be led away.

He would lead her towards other villages while great father protected her from being noticed by strangers. Masten wanted to corrupt her by leading her to a town called nathalion to have her spoiled by men not of her clan, yet great father made her circle a forest around a small hut near a creek. The great father told her in a vision upon the water surface to never leave the forest of the hut and her task would be complete.

Masten told her that if she stayed she would never claim her title of Red Fist if she stayed too long. It was then that she saw a man bearing the marks of Red Fist Elder near the hut talking to an axe on his back that resonated an old spirit within it.

It was this Red Fist Elder, Zeph Kincade of Xalla, that would restore her to her Red Fist rights once again. After some years as Redfist with Zeph, she learned that she was born of a high human woman. When Zeph decided to leave behind his Redfist brothers, she decided to do the same, this left her as nothing more than a High Human woman with new things to learn while still servant to Zeph.
