Burgo
About Burgo:
Well, it all began about 65 years ago. On the 23rd day of the 9th month, Burgo Rashbuttom was born. His parents were Vrago Rashbuttom, firstborn to Exar Rashbuttom, the Explorer; and Meara Witherheart, daughter to Histar Witherheart, mayor to the town of the Glittering Holes.
Burgo is the firstborn of the family, and after him came another brother, Junis, two sisters called Tara and Celia, and a second brother called Till.
His youth was one of relative peace. The town was prosperous, thriving on trade with the neighbouring towns and some farming. He was studying in town school during his early years, showing a skill in science, and so he became an assistant to the local teacher, mister Doverhill, to study under him to be the next teacher. As all young halfling he was notorious for pranks, but usually knew where to draw the line, especially after his father gave him a good beating for spoiling a carriage of grain by releasing some rats in it.
Then came the dark years. A rogue wizard, in need of slaves, attacked his village. The town guard fought for what they were worth, but the wizards soldiers, along with powerful spells, eradicated the village, his fire spells causing an inferno in town. In this attack both parents and his brother Junis died. Burgo escaped with Celia and Till into the night, bringing them to relatives. After he returned the following day, he found the town in ashes, no apparent survivors. Together with some help from relatives, he started to bury the dead, searching the remains for survivors, finding a note from mister Doverhill that they were taken away as slaves.
He then slowly followed their trail, finding the lair of the wizard to be an abandoned castle. He then took shelter in the nearby town, biding his time, honing his skills in sneaking and entering, preparing a silent raid at the lair.
His chance came when the wizard left for another raid, leaving the castle near unguarded. His break in was a success, but it took too much time to find the dungeons. When he finally found the survivors, he discovered that his sister Tara was among them. After some tries he broke the lock, guiding the prisoners away, only to find the wizard back, his army ready. They tried to get away, but the army attacked them, massacring the slaves. Only Burgo and Tara escaped, running away from the castle as far as they can, the cries of the rest in their ears.
At first they were safe, counted among the dead. But the wizard discovered that the one whom set them free wasn’t among the dead, and summoned griffins to chase them. And one a dark hill they found them. Burgo fought brave, but was separated from his sister. She was unable to defend her self, and with horror Burgo saw her being killed and torn apart by the griffins. This image haunted his mind while he ran away, finding escape in a small forest. After the griffins flew away, he ran to a city to escape in the underground.
With time he became a handy thief, not really wanting it but having no other way to make a living. He settled for a while, but again the wizards servants came looking for him, so he escaped again, finding his way into a small town named Nanthalion
After his arrival in Nanthalion, he settled himself very quietly, finding his way around. He met the duessa Lexi, who showed him some real way how this town works. He can still feel that pleasureful pain in his body sometimes. But he also made friends. The bar manager Fei was nice enough to offer him a job as a bartender, and the knight Arthur teached him some fighting. He also met the nice blushing healer, known as Leashen, and slowly fall in love with her, only to find her collared by the wolven Reigor. He tried to confront the wolven, but was humiliated, and left her alone. Some time later he learned about her true love, and abandoned her, knowing there is nothing he can do.
Burgo is usually nice, but one girl made him angry beyond words. The cocky mage Miyuka insulted all halflings while talking to him, then attacked his back. He was infuriated, searching revenge, and finding it too. He beat her once in the arena, then stole her clothes. When she wanted to take them back, he beat her again and forced her into humiliating herself by masturbating on the bar. He was sporting enough to give her clothes back, but knows she’s after him.
But what the future holds for him, he doesn’t know.... no-one knows.
