Legends of Belariath

Eido

Eido doesn't remember anything about her previous life as it is with most Magi that were given the gift by their Goddess Morpheous, this being said however she was one of the younger recruits into the ranks of the Magi due to her apparent skill with tactics, magic, and melee combat. She excelled far beyond any in her classes in just about anything, and yet she never let her apparent skill go to her head thinking she was just blessed by the Goddess Morpheous to help those around her become even greater.

Once she was made a Magi she was given a family to which to be with, her father being the Great Warlord of Morpheous, her mother one of the High Priestess' in one of Morpheous' temples in a little town outside of the capital. Eido's father had always wanted a son as he wished to have someone to carry on his legacy as a great warlord, he didn't see a woman like Eido as being able to do so, thinking her too weak even though she exelled in stratagy and fighting. He treated her with a mild neglect more than anything really, and it really stook with her through her life.

Eido's mother came down with a rampant disease that the Magi had thought was a quelling of Morpheous' children, but Morpheous didn't actually know of the disease as it was a creation of thise new world they were on. Her mother died in her sleep before anyone knew what was going on, the Goddess soon came down and cured the sickness and yet she couldn't seem to revive those that had fallen to it. Grief stricken Eido would stay in the home that her mother had owned laying in her mother's room for days crying over this loss, her father however blocked everything out seeming as if it didn't phase him.

Her father however was hurt deeply and would push his daughter away even more than he had before, she reminded him too much of his lost wife, even going as far as to disown her completely. With no where to go as her father also saw it pertinent to sell her mother's old home, she would pray to her Goddess, busting in on a meeting with her father and Morpheous. She apoligized to no end to her, but the kind Goddess would hear her out. Hearing this the spirit of the Magi would grant her the ability to go out into the world to find her place.

Morpheous gave her a goal however, to find someone powerfull in the ways of Arcana that would make her happy, as well as help her powers grow. After about a year of traveling the little Magi would realize suddenly that her Goddess had probably had reason into sending her out as well, bringing new magics to the grasp of the Magi had always been something they had tried to do. She also realized that she probably had a destiny somewhere out in the world to fufill.

Landing in the arena of a strange land she would start working upon her fighting skills blasting spell after spell at some of the dummies that would be around her, flying forward quickly she would loose her small sickle in one of the dummies as she would fly up into the air to send some more spells down upon the earthbound 'enemies'. It was then that Aramis one of the only Grand Archmages left in this land, a powerful man, and quite handsome to boot. He would force her into a little sparring match, she hadn't been in the mood really, but seeing the power that this man weilded really drew her in.

Eido held her own up against the assault of the Grand Archmage due to only him holding himself back, she could tell he was impressed however with her skill and ability to mix her attacks, as well as use her mind during the fight. He'd used Reverse Gravity to try and keep her off balance, but she would distract him by pushing dust up in the air between them and then use the reverse gravity to get up into the air above him without his knowlage. She would then use the sun behind her to mask her attack, actually cutting his robe a little bit with her small sickle.

She had used magic in every other attack so he'd been using his sense of magic to locate her, with her being out of sight she hadn't wished to give herself away so easily as that and had used mundane means to try and get at him. He was beyond impressed with her using a spell in the end that would make her do the same movements over again, she'd just rolled upon the ground and then pushed off to fly, so really rolling in the air right above the ground wasn't the best idea in the world.

She fell skidding along the ground with her momentum slamming her into the nearby wall upon her head, it was a hard fall and she'd actually pulled her arm out of socket and tore up her dress quite a bit. Being brought to a strange man's home was definitely not what Eido had been planning when she had come to this land, but she had met him as well as his girl Cryso and there just seemed to be something about them. Soon after this she would get to know Aramis' family that he had going, him and his girls who were all quite nice.

Aramis offered Eido to be in his family and with a bit of a tear in her eye she would accept finally having a family again, it was definitely a lovely feeling indeed. She would soon get really close with Cryso, really liking the Elf as she was just so soft and really nice to her. Eido thinks of her as almost an older sister, but it was becoming even closer than just that.
