Legends of Belariath

FireWind

Fire Wind is full of spark and passion at 33 years of life, his temper quick to rise and just as quick to fall. He speaks little of his past, but seems to have an obsession with fire for some reason most cannot fathom, often being labeled a crazy pyromaniac... Which is most likely true.

The child of a Sylvan elf he believed to be a linguistics scholar and a Ain/Cat woman of unusual traits, Fire grew up an outcast in the village he lived in, where he and his younger sister Ice wind were constantly ostracized and hated for their mixed heritage, their souls damned from the day they were born. During this time, he began his obsession with fire, both magic and other wise as he spent most of his time alone and by himself, his only real companion his sister.

Finally, at age 15 he was pushed too far, and he snapped, and he started a fire that caused half his village to burn down. Exiled, he spent the next almost twenty year a wandering mercenary, selling his skills to those that paid for them, killing both evil and good men and women, never feeling an ounce of guilt, regret, remorse or grief. As he came to realize later, he had never experienced those emotions in his entire life, and he was hardly reassured when he found out why.

In the inn, he finally found a place where he fit in, taking up a fast friendship with Undertow, sticking with his friend through thick and thin, not giving up on the albino drow despite the numerous threats Under tosses at him on occassion.

Some time after coming to the Inn, Fire learned that his past was nothing more than a lie, fabricated by his father, a man who was far from the benevolent man he believed him to be. Fire was the first prototype of his father's experiments to create a living puppet of elemental destructive ablitities, binding him to the elemental plane of fire, preventing him from learning , and also the reason he simple could not feel regret of any kind. However, his father did not fully succeed, as Fire remained very much an independant person, totally outside the man's influence.

During this revelation, Fire also uncovered that he had three sibling he never knew existed, the beaten and starved Earth, who had been the third of their father's failures and still existed beyond his control, and the two sucesses, his youngest sister Life, and his younger brother, Death. Together, Fire and Ice managed to rescue their sister, but at the cost of their mother's life, the three were made witness to her sacrifice as she gave her life so that they could live.

A few weeks after the rescue of his sister, Fire lost his slave Aria, whom he had loved deeply, in a manner he will not disclose in full, it is only known that he returned to the inn, his body beaten and broken. Following this, he vanished from the inn for a time, before finally returning frustrated with his own inablity to feel grief, but determined to move on.
