Legends of Belariath

Jason Dehan

The only member of his tribe to be feared by the Elders themselves, his mother was a assassin who was killed in a battle between his tribe and Elves; Jason‘s father was furious and ensured the leader of the Elven village suffered at his own hands. Breathing his last breath the leader told the barbarian he would die at the hands of his son when he became a man.

His father was a strong barbarian warrior and warlord of the tribe who remained unopposed and ruled with an iron fist, hearing that there was a chance he’d die not of old age or in between the large breasts of a minoess…not at the hands of his one and only son.

Through his childhood Jason and his father had a rocky relationship to say the least, they rarely talked and interacted with each other unless it was time for a tournament to take place within the tribe, even the youngest took part not fighting but competing in racing, hunting and what they considered ‘friendly wrestling’.

The adults on the other hand fought head on, those who had past grievances with another were given the ‘go ahead’ to kill opponents if they won a contest.

The young barbarian proved to be a powerful youth and even more impressive teenager, growing stronger by the day it seemed, he excelled in hunting and wrestling even besting his own father once in a private bout.

When Jason came of age and was old enough to challenge his father to become leader he was ganged up on by his best friends and many of his father's soldiers. They beat him senseless leaving him mentally scarred for life.

They dragged him to a lake in the middle of a unknown forest and threw his body into it, leaving him for dead. He sank to the bottom blacking out as the water entered his lungs, he awoke on the banks of the lake a few hours later, the moon peering down at him as night had fallen. The barbarian would use his remaining strength to travel deeper into the forest eatting whatever his large hands could kill. Biding his time until he would have his revenge. Traveling for several months he encountered a old woman who made him a simple white mask to hide his face. He was 16 when his father had him attacked, now three years had passed and he wanted his revenge.

When he made his way back to his former village his motive was clear and simple, kill everyone, methodically he choose to start a fire in the forest nearby drawing out the men and forcing the women to flee in case it spread to the huts and camps set up. Even to this day it’s unknown to the barbarian how he managed to kill them all, brute strength combined with bloodlust and the need to revenge. The warrior saved his father for last.

He made his father suffer, slicing off each body part and waiting a hour in-between before slicing of another. After killing his father, Jason left and began to travel discarding the mask he wore.Through his travels he realized the anger that was in his heart for his father wasn’t going away instead it grew. He found himself killing any who he found to be either a threat to him or out of rage. So for a year he isolated himself until he cleared his heart of the anger he had for his father and for himself.

After traveling many months he came across a part of the country that is known for many things, he is happy because he wants a fresh start and nobody knows of his past. And one place has stood out to him, the place that he thinks has summoned him here...Nanthalion.
