Legends of Belariath

Kitty

Katherine Kobushi was born late one midsummer’s day. She was the youngest daughter of Katala Kobushi, Shakaku of the Kobushi clan. From a very young age she showed great promise in her arcane and combat skills. She would be able to dance around even the best martial artists in the clan without even coming close to getting hit. Several people said that nobody had been able to move like Katherine since the original Shakaku had died, almost three thousand years before. Katherine would enjoy nothing more than to train and compete in the dojo. She would always get angry when all the other students would get to perform in front of the whole clan at the regular festivals the Kobushi held, while her mother would dress her up in pretty dresses and parade her around making her act like a koujo (The title for the Shakaku’s daughters) of the Kobushi should act at a social event.

As a koujo, Katherine was not forced into the magical training and taking the ‘tower test’ to become a Kobushi orange robe, as the mages were called, but she did anyway. She failed. Katherine had her mages robe publicly stripped from her as she emerged at the foot of the tower and she fled the village in shame.

She ended up in a human’s city. There she was taken in by a thieves guild and became a thief going by the name Kitty. Once again, Kitty showed great promise, quickly gaining a reputation as one of the best thieves in the guild. She spent six years as a thief in the city until she was eighteen, it was then she ‘accidentally’ killed the second in command of the guild and had to run for her life.

Next she found another clan, and she decided to stay with them in their village after falling head over heels in love with a male there named Tsuneko. Fortunately Tsuneko felt the same way and they spent the next six months living together happily, until Tsuneko attacked another male in the clan using his magic because he had been harassing Kitty, which was forbidden. Tsuneko’s mother sent him away to a place where he would be safe, Kitty had no choice but to follow, she loved him, and although he did not know, she was carrying his babies.

She finally managed to track Tsuneko down to a charming little place called ‘The Lonely Inn’, but was distraught to find out her love had lost his memory. After almost killing him, Kitty rebuilt her relationship with Tsuneko. After some time, she explained their past to him and revealed she was pregnant. Soon they were married and Kitty gave birth to their kittens. That’s how Kitty Remito came to be at The Lonely Inn.
