Legends of Belariath

Naomi Bloodclaw

Naomi born in the far north where life was much different in many other parts of the world. The wolven pack that she called family lived in the high reaches of the mountains there protecting and guarding their home and family from outside influences as much as they possibly could hope to. But life is never that simple and raids and attacks from neighboring groups and colonies of various different races came often enough for there to be concern. And in Naomi's female dominated pack an order was quick to come to deal with the outsiders. The order was not one of all out war rather of stealth and hunting to strike at the invaders before they strike at them. As it would prove it was a wise and effective solution with the distance that the pack's home was from most other permanent town or villages the local raiders soon learned that wolven pack was not one to be trifled with and outside threats were reduced to a minor nuisance at best.

The white wolveness was born into this world and grew in it watching her grandmother lead and direct the pack as Alpha with not only strength and power but tolerance and understanding to those that deserved such consideration. Naomi's mother was the top huntress in the pack and thus gave the young wolveness the best training available from a very young age. Always kept close to the inner workings of the pack she learn leadership and conflict resolution from her grandmother. By the time that she the sun rose on her fifteenth summer she was a well trained and maintained huntress adept at the blade and quarter staff. She could track a mouse through a foot of snow with ease and never lose the trail. And talk herself out of the most indelicate of circumstances she was a true reflect of her fore mothers and the pack's shining star. So it was no surprise that by her next summer she became a party to the group that policed the interior troubles of the pack.

In her new position in the pack one of prestige and honor she was one of the few that was entrusted with the responsibility and power to hunt down those that had been named criminals within the pack. Tracking escaped slaves and chasing down males that have out stepped their place within the pack's society. Her hunts often took her away from home further than most others of the pack had ever traveled in their life. On these long journeys she heard tell of other wolven that were mistreated and harmed. The concept weighed heavy on her mind and though she tried to dismiss these tales for some time she eventually went to her grandmother one of the few other that had actually ever traveled beyond the safety of the mountain home. And much to Naomi's dismay her grandmother confirmed that in some places these stories are quite true. With this news burning in her mind she explained to her family that she could not sit by knowing that these things were happening and do nothing. With that Naomi set off to seek out a place that needed her in the same way her family hre pack needed her grandmother, her Alpha to bring strength to her kin.
