Her History:

The Beginning!

Some stories told by bards and heralds such as . . . To start them off with “Once upon a time”, Or even “In the year of our Goddess/Lord” . . . This story starts out a little different . . . It begin's one dark night when the wind hollowed and the moon hid behind the clouds as if to keep warm. In the depth of a great forest where myth's had said that if one happens to enter would certainly parish. Those who've tried had never lived to tell the tale of what creatures lurk in its shadows. A small swan fly's quickly to the heart of the white swan maiden's village . . . Once this lovely creature felt the safety of the villages earth beneath its webbed feet . . . He would turn into a beautiful male youth . . . His hair long and shimmered of white gold . . . His deep black orbs would quickly seek out the elder . . . Normenia . . . The young cob's steps would quicken upon the ground . . .His movement ever so soft and ever so gentle . . . He'd approach Normenia and fell upon his knees before her and his handsome voice flowed into the air . . .

“ Lady Normenia I have word from the Grey flock the child is born . . . The grey swan has given birth to a baby girl . . .They have placed the name Odesssa upon her “ Normenia's soft eyes of blue would show signs of pondering before she raised her hand . . .” Odesssa . . . So Livan dares to name the child after one of our long past elders . . . So be it but let us see if she follows the path of the elder . . . On the child's second birthday if she wear the feathers of white bring her to me . . . If black send her to the elder Calieen, If she is of the same color of her mother she shall stay and be raised as one of them.” The cob would look up questioning . . .” What of the mother?” In Normenia's eyes of calmness her lips parted . . .” Livan . . . Will understand our laws and knows what is best for the little swan maiden . . . She'll agree . . .Now be off and make arrangements .” Normenia wisely said after fluffing up and quietly snuggled into her nest . . .

Indeed that night the cob made plans . .. By mornings light the forest was up in whispers about the tale of the swan maiden Livan having named her child the name of Odesssa . . . Livan had been the daughter of Normenia the elder . . . But because of her grey color she was considered a horrible blemish to the white swans and with Normenia being one of the elders of the flock she had no choice to cast her child out . . . Though she didn't have a heart of stone for she placed the child with in the small grey flock to west . . . Normenia wished her to be with her sisters . . . She'd hoped she'd survive and it seems she had . . . Livan though had been unstable she had thought her life a curse to be rejected to be abandoned for eternity . . . To never feel love . . . The hidden fairies behind each tree would watch closely of Livan with her off spring. She'd walk along side the spring she'd name “ Heart.” And sat and prayed to the goddess's of the forest that her child would be grey as she was and break that curse of her being alone. . .

Livan had longed for the man she took as mate who was the father too her child . . Though he had disappeared like a shooting star to be only touched and seen for a moment of pure bliss. . . Then to only vanish so it was no wonder why Livan felt so abandoned . . . But soon that idea was vanished as on Odesssa's second birthday she did not stay the grey color nor did she change to a beautiful ebony . . . Instead she wore colors of pure ivory . . . So early next morning on the day Odesssa would be taken away from her mother to live within the white swan flock she placed a necklace with a ruby gem around her baby girls neck and kissed her goodbye for the last time. She disappeared shortly after no one really knows what became of Livan. Some say she committed suicide or because of her heart breaking it was her time and went into what is called the eternal rest. . .

Odesssa was very small when she was brought to her new mother. . . The elder Normenia fell instantly in love with her grand_daughter and helped raise her to know of their ways . . . Slowly but surely any memory Odesssa had of Livan slipped away and was replaced with Normenia's love . . . As Odesssa reached her teen years she would find herself quickly learning spells and becoming a mage. Though her true calling was being a healer . . . Others were shocked how quickly she thirsted for the knowledge then others of her kind had. Learning the element air wasn't an easy thing. . . Nor the healing properties of certain things . . .Though it seemed she was a natrual. Normenia had even noticed that she was just as enchanting as the other swan may's her age yet she was also something different. To her she seemed a tad more careful, kind, graceful, etc. At times she seemed more neutral then most. . . Certain moments Odesssa would find herself in trouble for being to bold or to adventures. . . Which only made Odesssa fear disappointing Normenia and the flock even more. . . After being scolded for wondering away from the flock and helping a stranger that to them would be fine alone and would ruin the peace of their flock. . .

Odesssa truely had enough so she decided at age 21 to take her own personal quest to find herself and travel away from the flock . . . Normenia didn't like the idea as it was foolish and rare of their kind but also if it was a quest then perhaps it was for the best . . . Normenia would hold within her the last moments of seeing Odesssa parting the village and disappear into the forest's shadows. . . Odesssa's stories doesn't end there as her story truly never ends for it's the beginning . . .For some say to have seen her in the city of Nanthalion . . . Working at the Healing Guild . . . Or studying at the Unigo Tower . . . Rumors also circulate that she is mated to a Catman . . . Who truly really knows perhaps you will . . . If you wish to track this fact or is it myth?
