Scout

Scout and the pack of the Blood Fang

The time was mid summer and there was a man wandering through the forest several weeks journey from the Inn. He was slowly making his way down trail when something spotted him. It quickly darted through the dense forest making no noise. The man completely unaware of the being watching him, the man was a slaver that had hit this area before. From seemingly nowhere an arrow was heard cutting through the wind as an arrow struck the man in the chest. The being then stepped out onto the trail It was a tall, fit wolveness. She looked down as the man was holding the arrow and she looked to him her clawed foot quickly coming down killing the man with a final blow. She then returned to the area with other wolven.

This wolveness happened to be the only daughter of the alphas of this particular pack. She was also one of the best rangers in the pack. She was able to track and kill almost anything with expert precision. One night while she in her den one of the elders from the pack had entered to speak with her. She remained silent as the elder spoke.

“Scout, the man you killed before was a only one of a large slaver group headed towards us. The man was only up ahead to get an idea of how many of us were here.”

Scout had listened to him and then spoke her voice was a little tired. “Any idea of how long it will be before the group is here? And do we have any time to prepare?” Scout asked the elder knowing well that the group had hit their pack before and killed a few and enslaved others.

The elder spoke, “We have no idea when they will get here, nor how many. We are taking the necessary precautions and telling the women to take hiding. Especially yourself as you are soon to take place of your mother as the Alpha female.”

Scout growled out she hated to be told she should hide. She wasn’t going to she watched the elder as he turned to leave. Thinking back to when the slavers first attacked killing her mate and taking her sister captive. She spoke up, “I will not hide this time.”

The elder listened and just left as Scout took up her bow and arrows she made her way out into the forest. It was a few days as she wandered the forest. Her kill count rising as she took out a few other slavers. Though she didn’t know that they had already reached her pack. She returned about two weeks later to find no one around. She sniffed the air smelling the unmistakable scent of death. She looked around frantically for any signs of her pack. The fire ring hadn’t had a fire for a few nights. She looked in the other dens and noticed boot prints. She growled as she made her way to her parent’s den and saw her father and mother slain on the ground. At that point she had collapsed to her knees her hands moving to her eyes as she started tearing. The bodies had been in the advanced stages of decay from the open air on the bodies. She moved back out of the den. She was crying fairly hard, everyone was either gone or dead. She looked in other huts and found her long time crush also dead. She slowly moved the bodies all to one den. Though she took frequent breaks to regain her composure.

Scout they filled the den with some dead branches and went ahead and set fire to the den. She didn’t have the energy or time to bury the bodies. She was the only one left that she knew of from the pack. She wandered the forests for weeks looking for something that in the back of her mind she knew she was never going to find. She headed towards the inn not knowing it was there. She was heart broken She was hoping the pack had moved out to prevent further casualties. She moved through the forest. A few more weeks passed as she moved further and further every day. She eventually stumbled on the inn where she decided she would stay for a little while to regain strength and possible find a pack she could join seeing other wolven there.

Scout was a bit angered by it and she didn’t trust anything that was not wolven for a long time. She was constantly on the lookout for the slavers and also very wary about her surroundings. She eventually began to trust the others a little more but had a hard time trusting them, and to this day still has a hard time. Her alpha instincts still visible from time to time depending on whom she is around, she looked for another pack that would accept her as an Alpha and not a submissive wolven. She couldn’t stand being weak and considered inferior. She had also considered trying to reform her old pack with a new mate and starting from the beginning.

Scout eventually purchased land out side of town where she built her new home. She was around the inn for several summers before she purchased two other properties where she plans on claimer her new territory and wanting to reform the pack on those lands with hopes to claim more territory for her and others as the pack grows. After the experience she went through should she decide to reform the pack she would also accept other wolven that had also gone through a traumatizing experience.
