Legends of Belariath

Shiho

Civilization dulls men. It makes them forget how to take. Unless of course you come from a civilization aimed at taking. Shiho was born in wealth, something that is clearly seen from the manners he displays. From the moment he was born, he had his own tutors, teaching him the things that were important in life. His parents however were also part of his upbringing, taking an active role in deciding how they wanted him to achieve success.

Once the tutors had offered all they had to bestow upon Shiho, it became time for him to leave his home. He now took the role of Loremaster upon himself. It was his task to study legend and myth and separate facts from the freedom bards had taken with the story. A pursuit of the truth, he would tell people, but the truth was that the main goal was to grow more powerful. To collect artifacts, to learn ancient magic, to grow and be impressive.

He spent a long time travelling, although a lot of time was spent in the Nethergloom. Here he had to keep himself standing amongst the Moriel and other dark creatures while also finding the chance to learn. His knowledge of magic was useful in keeping the Moriel entertained, as well as offering other forms of entertainment to them. It was not a place one left with the same mindset as one had entered the realm.

There were more travels with interesting sights and in every location he stayed for a while to learn. Often getting the company of friends and slaves but always his next travel would come eventually and then he would leave everything behind again. Eventually his journey lead him close enough to Nanthalion to hear mention of Unigo and Umbara as well as several legends that could prove useful. So one day he stepped out of the portal and made his way to the inn, once again adapting to the role of a simple loremaster with just a modest magical lineage.

His choice for clothing often matched for a big part with the black colour of his short hairs. The dark outfits might repulse some people, but his eyes and the way he smiled proved to be quite the useful mask. He seemed friendly, charming and very exotic.
