Legends of Belariath

Sinopamosi

Love, passion, lust, seduction... they All lead to the strangest of bed fellows, and in the case of Nukpana, A Vulpine who was the towns Doctor and Head Mistress of the Library, it lead to her giving birth to a half Breed named Sinopamosi. Her father? A Traveling performer named, Alivero Monsue, or at least that's what he said at the time... With Bards you never really know if that's their true name.

There were no schools where she lived, the fact they had a Library was due wholly for an old wizard who lived in the town, when he passed away he had left the books and everything he owned to the town. How Nukpana ended up being the one to run the Library was never made clear to Sinopamosi, what was made clear was that she lived at the Library and was to stay there most the time, so she read, a lot. It wasn't that she LOVED reading like a scholar or Wizard, she simply had nothing else to do with her time. She read about magic, elves, Moriels, Minotaurs, and Warriors slaying dragons, Herbs, Minerals, anything and everything! Little really stuck, she picked up bits and pieces of different topics, until she came across a section on music.

Ah, music... Reading it, composing it, understanding it, writing it... she understood this and thrived on it, devouring the books reading them over and over until she could actually memorize them! She loved it so much. But there was a balance broken inside her when she did this, she delved to fair into the thirst, and though people didn't realize it she caused herself to have both a curse and blessing. She heard music constantly in her head, which allowed her to be able to sing and create beautiful poetry and music, but.. It also meant she ALWAYS had to be 'releasing' it, sings, dancing, humming, tapping... She couldn't NOT perform, so to speak.

She knew she was different other children in her town, but it seemed to not really bother anyone, sure someone here or there insulted her about it, But children look for anything to insult another child about... She didn't care she was beautiful she knew so, her mother told her

Time moves forward and days become weeks, weeks become years and soon Sinopamosi is sixteen, and has decided to leave her home town. She wasn't upset, she wasn't running away, no she was wander lusted and in need to see the world. It was an issue that Nukpana had always known might happen, and was even surer of it when Sinopamosi took so much after her father. Before leaving Sinopamosi was given two items, one a leather body suit custom made for her by her mother, with a thick leather robe to wear over it when cold. The second item was actually two items, they were from her father. A silver 'cat bell' on a leather collar and a worn book half full of songs and poems. The had been his, and Nukpana had been holding them for Sinopamosi

For almost two years she traveled, sometimes with caravans or gypsies, sometimes alone. She danced at bars, song, recited poems... Anything to pay her way and she loved it. She saw all sorts of towns and cities, villages and outposts. The more she traveled though the more she started to realize that more and more, people who came to see her were not people who were lovers of music per say, but people who needed something, anything to bring even a sliver of joy into their lives, something to hope upon, to make them smile in a world that was nothing but pain, loss and agony to them. She first noticed it with the soldiers, but soon she was seeing it with common folk too.

She was nineteen when she came upon an old abandoned temple. Goddess of Travel was who it was dedicated to, probably a false God of old days that was now forgotten. It wasn't the first time a temple was erected for some False God that was popular for a short time was it? But as she sat there, using it to rest, sleep for the night she started thinking, "What would make people worship a false god? and more so why would they stop?"

She stayed at the temple for a week in thought, so lost in thought she had forgotten to sing, hum, dance or anything else. The pain grew in her mind so bad that she started throbbing in pain and actually blacked out. She awoke to a woman tending her wounds, asking if she was okay, looking over her. They talked for hours, Sinopamosi felt better than she ever had before. They discussed the ideas of hope and how people created a temple in hopes of finding someone that would help them, to bring ease to their lives and when there pleas were not answered how the left the temple and moved on... The spoke of sorrow and agony and how quickly the spirit is broken and people loose hope... after days of no sleep Sinopamosi would pass out, when she woke there was no company, and with it being mid winter she tried to see where the woman went, but there were no foot prints other than her own. Was it all a dream? Perhaps this Goddess wasn't fake? Sinopamosi wasn't sure... What she was sure about was that people still needed hope, and joy in a world over indulged in pain and sorrow... there needed a balance and thus taking the title of "Bardess of the lost Trail" she now focused her music and movements towards areas where hope was weakest and sorrow strongest. It didn't take long for her to end up in Nanthalion at The Lonely Inn after that.
