Legends of Belariath

Solomon

Dreams.

An ability capable of nearly every sentient creature within the realm of existance. From the most powerful human noble, to the lowliest goblin, and even the birds and squirrels that roam the forest. Some even speak that the very essence of life allows the ability to dream, meaning even the grass and trees could hold dreams of the future. Even the gods, who were the reigning entitites of the world, were capable of dreams. The magi are a well known example of a goddess' dreams becoming reality. But not all dreams are of a pleasant nature.

Even a Goddess can have a dark dream.

In one of the rare instances of the Goddess Morpheus' dreams taking on a darker tint, was the substance from which one magi in particular was sculpted. Large, majestic wings of the purest white, matched by a head of silky white hair that easily flowed in the manner of a waterfall past features and shoulders. Height above the average human's would be gifted to the creature, standing at six feet and 6 inches tall. The flesh of the creaturewould be given a masculine mold, form wellmuscled, yet with a lean, wirey strength, rather than the bulbulous muscles of a warrior or barbarian. Perfectly sculpted male features that bordered between beautiful and handsome, depending upon the view. And a set of powerful, brilliant, piercing golden eyes to top it off. Such was the physical representation of the dream made into flesh.

The exterior of the creature was crafted in the perfection that Morpheus was known for in her magi. But because of the darkness of the dream from which this particular magi is born, the true essence of the male took on a far darker tint than the average magi is known for. A darkness swirled under the surface of this angelic creature, pulsing with the power of intelligence the man was gifted with, above average, even by magi standards. Intelligence, plus the power of darkness, swirled to create a creature who was truly more of a fallen angel, rather than the pure image of perfection that the exterior would offer forth to the eye.

And his name... was Solomon.

Solomon had an upbringing as did any other magi. The beginning of his existance was upon Oceana, where he began his scholarly studies, spending the initial year in each of the temples, to give a broad scope to his knwoledge. But even among the magi, it was apparent that the male had a sharp mind, a quick study of things he was taught and shown. Perhaps it was the ease of taking in this information that first caused the magi to become dis-satisfied with his existance. Bored, if you would. While the information was new, there was no true challenge to the male to learn it, the absorption of the knowledge coming easily to him.

And thus was his first few years, rotating through the Temples. The first true pique of the male's interest came when he entered into the Temple of Heliotrope, and learned about the art of Diplomacy. It wasn't diplomacy itself that truly interested the male, but how the manipulation of words could bring about effects upon others. It was the first taste the man ever got into being a word smith. But as he studied, he found that just straight out lying was rather boring, as any borish idiot could manage such a thing. But learning to bend the truth, how to neglect a word, or rephrase something to bring a person to your way of thinking, without lying. That was a true challenge, and he challenge shifted with every situation, every individual. It was something that truly called to the darkness of the male magi.

But even this began to grow a bit stale. There were no people among the magi who truly called to the magi. Yes, he had learned the art of word-smithing, yet had grown to find that the magi were almost too easy to use it upon. Perhaps it was because of the sheer honesty among the race of Morpheus, the tightness of the bonds they all shared in their Goddess. And when he was finally able to do so freely, he left the floating city of his birthplace, heading out to explore the world and see what more he could learn from his existance.

As Solomon traveled the world, he began to find himself exposed to all manner of things that had no place upon Oceana. Murder, Betrayal, Slavery. And as was the very nature of Magi, Solomon began to meddle in the affairs. First, it was in an attempt to stop such actions, as if trying to bring righteousness back upon the world. But the more the male interacted with these things, the more the appeal of them began to creep upon the male's mind. Slowly, through interactions, he began to dip fingertips into the very things he had initially tried stopping. Oh, the man never murdered himself, finding the exercise of using that silver tongue to manipulate others into such actions far too exhilerating an exercise over dirtying his own hands.

And though Solomon found new pleasures in the darker aspects of society, the wanderlust that had initially driven him to leave Oceana would cause the man to wander yet again, carrying him towards lands that were unknown to the male.

Eventally, he traveled to the lands of Belariath, to see what things might exist here that might hold the attention of the magi.
