Spotzen Strype was born to a family of love. Her father, Tom, had fallen in love with her mother, Kit, and when the woman was stolen away in a raid, he tried to break her out and failed twice. The man ended up entering an auction and bought the female as a slave, using his mark to keep her protected and cared for. Unfortunate dismay happened, because Spotzen was born one of four. Her siblings were stillborn, and her mother died shortly after giving birth. This left Spotzen to be raised by her father, who named her Spotzen Strype because her skin had an odd pigmentation pattern of spots and stripes. Her father doted on her, with her being all that he had left of her mother and his only child.
Granted, Spotzen wasn't spoiled. She worked hard actually, happily helping her daddy out around the farm and ranch. She went by Zen most of the time, and wore hand-me-down clothing, usually boy's clothes as she hated dresses. Zen was a rough and tumble girl, and had no problem besting the boys in wrestling and other things. She was a tomboy. Spotzen also loved the ranch and farm-life. She had no problem bossing around her father's workers and farmhands, nor did she have any issue with getting dirty herself. of all animals though, she loved horses.
When she turned 16, her father became ill. Try as she might, the ranch was going under. Insects plagued the crops and orchards of the farm, and Zen had to sell off livestock for the coin and no longer having the crop to feed them. Eventually, a lean was put on the house and land. When Zen turned 18, she got into an argument with her dad about it. Ultimately she gave him money to hire nurses.. all catgirls, much to her shock.. but she understood his need for comfort. Then Spotzen set out with her remaining coin to find work by venturing to the 'big town' Nanthalion.
In Nanthalion, she got a job working at the local General Store and eventually moved up to Assistant Manager. Spotzen also picked up a job in Thallis as the stable keep. Despite her boss enjoying her body, Spotzen stayed working there, in hopes of promotion and more work, maybe even responsibility for a derby or such. Plus, she's friends with her boss's wife. The catgirl paid off her father's lean and now he lives happily, while Spotzen has bought her own land and her own livestock, seeking to work the rancher life. She has stayed ever the tomboy, especially since the ONE time she wore a dress to go on a date, said date named Alren, insulted her and made her feel terrible. Spotzen still owns the yellow sundress she wore, but it has remained hidden in her closet. The catgirl still has ideals of dating and finding a mate, but also keeps to herself due to her run-in's with Ray`el of Thallis and Sorgram of Valencia, and of course, her fear of collars and desire to maintain her freedom.
