Legends of Belariath

Tyson Thriste

At a young age, he had begun training to become a knight, much like his father had been. But, his father had been ordered to leave his village when he was young, and had not been seen since. Meanwhile, Tyson's mother had married a High Elf and had a few other children. He had become an outcast, for both his mother and step-father were High Elves, and so were the other children. But not he, for he was a half elf- a human/elf hybrid.

Finally, at the age of 14, he had been sent from his home to train to become the knight he had hoped to become for so long. But when there, surrounded by humans, elves, and others, he had been shunned. He had no friends, but others respected his abilities. He learned the ways of using swords and staves quickly, and became quite proficient in each. During this time he learned how to put himself into a trance, allowing himself to practice and train harder than any of the others. But even his proficencies were overlooked. Others were given the status of knight before him, and by the time he became 17, was generally given a nod, if anything, by anyone else. Thanks to this lack of any recognition, as well as the way others treated him, he left the castle he had been trained at, and began to wander.

At first, life was easy and good. Food was simple to find (though not particularaly good with a bow and arrow, he became somewhat skilled with these tools), and his training made him able to defend himself quite well. Problem was, he was becoming reclusive, drawing into himself while staying away from as much contact with others as he could. Returning home did no good- his step father had taken over the family after all, and shunned him. It was there, among his childhood village, where others shunned and kicked him away.

He never returned, never looked back. He did wonder about his younger sister from time to time- she, out of any of the others, had not treated him too poorly. Still, without a home and with very little money and skills, he set out on his own. He would do a few odd jobs, hiding his identity as a half elf by pretending to be a human instead when travelling from village to village, but was inevitably thrown out of the inns he visited by angry innkeepers or the others who were staying the inn at the time. No one wanted a half elf around- well, not a male one anyway, it seemed. He had met a female half elf once though, and they got along fine... at least until he was thrown out of the inn that she worked at.

Finally, he reached the Lonely Inn. Tired of being shunned, he was surprised to find himself ignored- he did not garner any attention from the inhabitants, save by a few. Glad to find a place that would at least tolerate him, he bought his way into staying at the inn, and here he is. He left after awhile (ooc note: a story in progress) and then came back... this time, perhaps, to stay.
