Mist Raider

As illusive as the name implies, a Mist Raider prefers to keep his own council and tends to avoid crowds for any reason. He relies on his speed and agility to remain unseen by his target. Stalking with a skilled stealth and silence any predator would envy. He is not a typical warrior to nature and yet can reside within it as if at any moment one might expect a tree to be breathing down their neck. Odd reference indeed and yet the Mist Raider has learned to use the foliage and the nature around them to camouflage how they move, look, act and even to speak. They are a hardy class with few limitations set upon them and even fewer they may trust. Wild and uninhibited except what they set themselves to task for, they are forever on the move and yet so quiet that you doubt your own inner sense of danger. What the eyes cannot see one tends to ignore. Therein lies any persons wrong direction and yet what the Mist Raider has long since learned to their advantage.

Mindset:

Relying almost solely upon themselves, the Mist Raider will seem on edge to most. His obvious mistrust and distain of others will cause him to see solitude more often then not, rather it is to his room at the Inn or to the sanctuary of the forest. He might be called quirky…but really he is very calculating in his behavior, absolutely aware of everything in their surroundings; leading some to think him clumsy, loud and socially inept. Some Mist Raiders take caution to the highest levels, even to the point of paranoia and Agoraphobia (fear of being in open or public places). Tactics and demeanor define the Mist Raider from that of a Knight or a Warrior. A Mist Raider is the epiphany of the precise hit and evasion type of warfare more often known as "hit and run".

Concept:

As illusive as the name implies, a Mist Raider prefers to keep his own council and tends to avoid crowds for any reason. He relies on his speed and agility to remain unseen by his target. Stalking with a skilled stealth and silence any predator would envy. A Mist Raider is so in tune with nature that he can use nature's elements to his advantage when planning an attack. A Mist Raider will travel light and so owns only what he can carry on his person. Limiting his armor and weapons allows him to carry with him all that he needs at all times, prepared to strike out on a hunt at moment's notice. Those he does choose will not be bright and shiny, much to the contrary, usually weathered almost to the point of rusted. Blending into his surroundings is vital to the Mist Raider, one will often see him painted or decorated with camouflaged. Any other time, you might find him wearing metal links or bells, often called 'noisemakers', to mask his ability to move with no sound at all. Rangers most commonly evolve into a Mist Raider, but others of non-combat classes sometimes find their limited skills and strengths suit more to the guerilla form of fighting the Mist Raider is best known for.

Advantage:

Whisper of Shadows
Mist Raiders have an uncanny knack for moving with the greatest of stealth. The may lose themselves in nearly any surroundings, able to mimic the effects of the lurk spell and pass through nearly any terrain as quiet as a mouse.

Disadvantage:

Eschewing the Masses
A Mist Raider will tend to avoid large crowds, unless using them for cover. They will not likely be an active part of a larger force, better suited as scouts and reconnaissance. If forced to travel and work with a group, they will lose their abilities and skills at stealth. They will also tend to be more easily agitated and will often look for the quickest way to find themselves alone.
