Monk

A monk is a practitioner of asceticism and temperance, one who through rigorous and burdensome training seeks to ultimately strengthen their spirit, in hopes of achieving paradisiacal equilibrium. Preferring to quarrel unarmed and unarmored, even more dexterous than the cunning thief whose perfected the knife, they are capable of striking as hard and with as much force faster then a knight or warrior with his blade due to their meticulous and stringent training. Their bodies, consolidated and compact are adept at enduring great adversity and affliction, as if they wore a full plate of armor. They are physical phenoms, gifted with extraordinary attentiveness, able to dodge blows without even consciously realizing they are doing such. Discipline, self-control, and further physical development is the doctrine of the monk: For when the mind and body are one, the spirit is sincerely liberated.

Concept:

Fanatical paradigms of both the mind and the body define the Monk superlatively. They train constantly, day in and day out, exercising to the point of exhaustion. Many may find this wearisome and monotonous, but for the Monk it is customary, a necessity to reach physical and mental perfection. Through such taxing labor, Monks effectively push their bodies to contemporary, superior echelons of performance and their spirits to the highest pinnacle of devotion.

Advantage:

Perfection of Body
Due to the rigorous attention to finding healthy lifestyle and balance, a monk will not pollute his form with things that would harm him and indeed will use meditation and exercise to achieve a state of exceptional physical conditions. Monks gain a +5 to def for each time they take the monk class.

Disadvantage:

Vow of Poverty
Monks will eschew any form of wealth or any item of value. The two exceptions are wooden weapons, which they may have one of for self defense purposes and (special magical items, i.e. relics and the like). They will however take money they make and donate it to either a faith or a cause in which they believe strongly. Money may not be given to another character, but may be subbed to donate to a cause, with a witness of an Op.
