Legends of Belariath

Nobles and Other Significant Characters

Iriador

Iriador was a Dream, a long time ago, of Creativity and Music. a Dream where a story could be told with just the notes, that comes to ones ear through the strings of an instrument, mainly the lute. This dream came from a Dragon, or perhaps several dragons that shared this same Vision of Musical beauty. And so Iriador found herself laying in Darkness, up ahead, she could see a faint light as she stood for the first time on legs she didn't really understand. She wobbled for a bit as she held onto a bare rock wall to hold her balance. she waited until she had gotten used to these legs before moving forward to towards the light... being the only thing else besides darkness to come to.

She walked into a large Cavern, with a single ray of sunlight streaming down a chimney, to land onto an altar in the center of the room. On top of the altar was a strange object, one that surprisingly enough, she knew. A Lute... crafted in black oak, and silver-plating. On the silver plating was an ancient song, one that none other alive would remember. When she picked it up, she knew what she was here to do... to seek out knowledge of Music, from the past and up to the present. and bring this gift of Music to the Dragon Elders.

And, so she did, she searched the world over... hiding from the other races as she spied onto their celebrations, festivals and outside tavern windows, to catch a note or two of the luscious music. Sometimes she would hear word, as she huddled in a cloak... sitting in the inn, of lost civilizations. And hearing these she would run off to seek these ruins and find old Music transcripts and preserve them in her Journal.

One day she received a Message from the Dragon Elders, that the time of hiding was done and that they should show themselves once again to the mortal and imortal races. And so she did, using her charisma to gain a seat in the nobility of the land. As an Ambassador to the Drak Sen race, she gained the title, Lady Iriador.

With the wealth that she had collected from her travels, she now organizes others to seek her treasures, mostly from the ranks of bards and other musicians. This activity StormBringer tolerates even though there is no immediate gain to him. For her value is in her contacts with the Drak Sen and the elder dragons. And sometimes her adventurers bring back knowledge as well as music.
