Sutara

The first flicker of that heat started in the coldest place contrived in Moriel existance..

Sutara

House Zon-Kith`Serra, ruling House of the Second City of the Nether Gloom; reputed power of some of the oldest lineages within the nested homes of the Dark Elves. Her lineage held no exception, though the circumstances of her birth did; her mother, El'nor S'orn, had taken her place as General and Second in Command to the Matron of the House. In her own arrogance or assumption, when she took a high born slave as lover and bore a child of the two, she declared her daughter a Chosen of Kirva; circumventing the unspoken laws of half-breeds. Her Matron said nothing, and, up until her adolescance, Sutara was raised as all daughter's of the House were.

Trained and prepared for the day when she would take her place within the Temple and as a soldier beneath her Mother, Sutara never for a moment thought of what machinations her Matron had for her or the obstacles she might face. Her mother never once let known the tight control she had kept on other people's prejudice and dislike, instead, holding her daughter to a standard that others would deem unnecessary. But Sutara knew that there was something about her that made the other daughter's snicker, or give cruel and judging glances, she knew this but deferred to the trust between Mother and daughter, a trust that kept her ignorant of the true visciousness and deception that her kind were capable of.

It happened on a night of celebration, when the House would invite other Houses and those it considered both enemy and friend to revel in the Cities newest conquest; a chance for the Matron to once more seal her position among the supposed usurpers. Among those slyly insinuated was El'nor, though trusted above all else, the Matron believed in the insurance of action that her right hand would never rise up against her, or any of her offspring. Among the revelry and dance, the Matron conspired with the Patriarch of House Emboitant to sell Sutara into his collar and eventually that of his son, Carsi; however, El'nor found out before the deed was done, and in the night, spirited Sutara way to the surface, enlisting her father to keep her hidden from any pursuers.

The life on the surface was no more tame or less corrupt than that which she had experienced below, but instead of the guiding hand of her mother, Sutara found her safety and person put into the hands of a con artist, a thief. Elias Rowen had the benefit of his beauty and silver tongue, but responsibility and stability were not traits he felt pertinent for a life lived on the road and on the run. So Sutara learned, not from her mother, but from her high-born Father the life of duplicity and deception. It left a bad taste in her mouth, whether from the disruption it caused, or the dishonor, or the simple fact it held no desire for Sutara to remain unknown. She craved the attention of the Nether Gloom, to be known, and to prove others wrong.

It is safe to say that for a time she did not get what she wanted, an almost naive temperment and selfish regard, after separating from her father, Sutara experienced first hand why it was never a good thing to go back home, and what her mother had tried to shield her from when she lived with her. From slavery, back to the surface itself, she was forced to evolve beyond her meager means and small minded disposition.

The first month in the lands of Emperor Stormbringer brought it with it a harsh reality she had come to expect from any land both above and below the surface. She licked her wounds within the care of the Imperial Temple of Ishtar, working on securing for herself a place to live, a position that would satisfy her growing ambition and tangible materials items that would give her what she felt she was denied for too long. Tempermental and beautiful, the half-blood procured a reputation of stubborn persistance; earning a spot as soldier within the Imperial Guard and favored friends.

Over the next few years, Sutara carved for herself a niche that would allow her outward perception and reputation to stand on a foundation of follow through and personal honor. Through wars involving the twisted interpretation of a Chirot, the Spirettes, to a mission involving blood thirsty barbarians to the north, and the personal persecution of traitors and beasts that hounded her as much as the Empire. The half-blood stood on a pile of destroyed icons, bloodied enemies and writhing lovers to achieve her positions; Reeve, Merchant, Business Owner and Captain of the Imperial Guard. Her projects helped with Trade from Nanthalion to the Southern borders where she had established her point of order; her Cunning developed a whole new edge, standing on a code of 'I do as I say.'

Brought back into the nest of Kirva, in recent months she has returned to reconcile the nature of the beast that had birthed her; becoming more intimate with the means and ways of a political mover, shaker, and the benefits of secrecy and controlled anarchy. This has brought her into the attention of the Emperor and the powers that be, as it was, her position of Captain was a natural step up into Nobility. The ultimate pinnacle, a sense of keen satisfaction and yes, even gloating supremacy. Secured in her position, eyes and ears to the Southern Lands and miser of Trade and Establishment, she has become more than what her mother intended for her, she has become a force beneath Emperor and Goddess to whom her knee bends for.
