What is an MIoP: An F.A.Q

What is an MIoP?

An MIoP is a reward, a little bit of magic to reward those either in quests, or for excellent Role Play, for hard work done here or there. The items themselves have nothing to do with Combat, neither in defense or offensive. They should be something the PC is pleased to own, and something that will enhance the Role Play itself. Basically its an item, that has something special about it, but has nothing to do with "power".

Who can get an MIoP?

Any PC in game. Quest team can ask for them, those who plan events can ask for them to be given out to players. Ops and SA can ask for them to be given out as well for those players who provide RP above the norm repeatedly. Noble Houses may request MIoP’s to reward the best of the best within their Houses, and keep theses as revolving ‘presents’ changing hands every so many months. Temples even, can request them, as rewards for play within the Temples. The items themselves, are earned through Role playing, through giving into storylines, and creating those threads of story through out the game.

How does one get an MIoP, is there an approval process, forms in triplicate?

If you are a member of Ops, or SA, or Quest Team, you simply post to the MIoP thread, under "Applying for an MIoP" and state the following:

For who: GoGo the Goblin
Why: Quest Event coming up, as booty
Date needed:
MIoP that would be wanted

How are MIoP's Listed?

A list of approved MIoP's will be available to the player base. Sub divided to into four categories: General (meaning all can chose from) Class (class specific) and Skill (Must possess the skill the MIoP is suited for to select this one) Religion (Must be a follower of the deity it is listed to). Those who are rewarded an MIoP can then select from this list, inform the Person who requisitioned the MIoP for them so that it can be noted.

How do we keep track of MIoPs?

A thread will be made "Who owns what?" On this thread the following information will be updated as needed.

Character Name: ChichiRodreix
MIoP: 57. Eyeglasses of Far sight
Given by: Eraelabryn
For: Quest

Since Chich can give her MIoP to someone, by transferring it and since she is only allowed to hold 2 at any time, we would keep one post per character that currently owns an MIoP, editing it as we give more out. So then if there is a question on who owns what this list becomes the end all as such. ChiChi would also be responsible for adding this information into her character notes, if not then the MIoP does not belong to her. [/color]

How can I get one!?

Be an Rper who strives to create those wonderful storylines on the constant. Be a player that you would enjoy playing off of. This will get you noticed to have one requested for you. MIoP's can and might be earned through playing in events within channel, completing in quests, as prizes in tournaments, these are only a few of the ways they end up in PC's hands. Also, those who run quests and events can ask for MIoP’s as rewards for those who play in them. Another thing, you might want to consider is you never really -know- when an MIoP might be up for grabs. Could be that spur of the moment event that you just happened to join in, could be a quest that has been planned for months. One never knows.

I want a million and ten of those!

Sorry, the limit for any PC is 2 at any one time. However, you are allowed to give your MIoP to another PC. Meaning : Your character and another pc’s have a storyline going. You are allowed to have an Op or a member of the SA oversee you giving an MIoP to that character. Once given, no asking for it back. A gift is a gift, and see it as ‘spreading the wealth” so to speak. As with anything however, if this is abused it will be taken as a right. What you get will be what you get, and what you keep, so please, make sure you don’t abuse this system. No giving them to JoBobWankermonkey, cause he is your best friend. Use this as a chance to reward those who you see RP’ing, and busting their asses to make those storylines you enjoy Rping in. It’s not a popularity contest, but in truth giving players the chance to reward those who they feel deserve it. Be it a brand new player character, or an established one. Now the rules on this, so we are clear.
No trading them between your -own- characters.
No using your friends to pass them to your other nick.
No selling them.
Any infraction on these rules, and you will have your right’s to have an MIoP taken, as will anyone who assisted you. No second thought on it.

I bet those are just for the high levels.

Untrue. MIoP’s are given to PC’s at any level. That’s the beauty of them.

But I don't want that MIoP I want -that- one!

MIoP's for rewarding RP should be the players choice. However for quest team, it is very possible that just the 'general' MIoP's will be selected, meaning the person running the Quest will be told, -these- MIoP's are a available for your booty, and only these.

I have this idea for an MIoP....

Any and all ideas for them, submit them. MIoP's are meant to bring a bit of fun to the table as well. If you have an idea for a box that holds an image of a fae doing a nude belly dance, that causes a warm funny feeling in your characters tummy, submit the idea, we can see where it goes. The list of MIoP's approved will be constantly growing and changing as the game does, and as ideas come in. Remember however, MIoP's are not about power, but simply enhancing the Role Play of the PC and those characters around it. A bit of magic found in an unlikely spot, or a handy thing to have.

Thank you.

Since mIoPs are limited to 2 based on you being able to give it away (presumably when being offered a new one, or if you're just rewarding someone else for their rp, ICly) the question immediately arose in my mind: If a mIoP given cannot be given away (for instance, if it is unremovable) does it count against the limit of 2?

none of the mIoP's are technically unremovable, so there should be nothing barring from giving one away to another character for SL purposes.

What exactly does MIoP stand for?
Life is a sacred thing, Do not squander the time gifted to you. Live as if today would be your last.
