Festival of Gifts and Gold Day at The Works! (26th Dec)

Postby The Mercenary Abby on Thu Dec 20, 2018 4:26 am

Festival of Gifts and Gold Day
From 4PM to Midnight EST, The Works will be celebrating Festival of Gifts – by extension, also Gold Day - a day after on the 26th with games and Lucky Draws! There will be three games on that day: Elemental Mage Draw, Unlucky Dwarf, and Greedy Pig (RULES, for each one, are detailed below under ‘GAMES’). At the conclusion of every game and after the winner is awarded, a Lucky Draw will take place for a fabulous prize courtesy of The Works – to a total of FOUR, including a GRAND PRIZE that will take place at midnight EST.

GENERAL RULES FOR GAMES:
  1. Each game requires a payment fee of 10 mhl (!money sub 10mhl).
  2. Players can choose to play all 3 games as long as they are willing to pay the fee.
  3. Player that will go first will be chosen via “!choose” command, followed by ascending alphabetical order according to Nickname List.
  4. Each game will only have ONE winner and that one winner will earn 50% of accumulated funds earned through fees with an additional 50 Mhl courtesy of The Works (payment will be done via “!payout” by Manager).

GENERAL RULES FOR LUCKY DRAW:
  1. Each Lucky Draw will take place after every game (as shown above).
  2. There is a total of FOUR Lucky Draws, including a GRAND PRIZE that will take place at midnight EST.
  3. Winners will be chosen via “!choose player”.
  4. The same character CANNOT win the other Lucky Draws; another winner will have to be picked. The only exception to this rule is the Grand Prize.

LUCKY DRAW PRIZES (credit to Menhir for his help!):
1st Draw: Large Lock Box with Golden Etchings + 250 Mhl from Lord Stormwind
2nd Draw: Silver Tea Service for Eight with Golden Etchings of the Symbol of the Ilfirian Empire + 250 Mhl from Lord Stormwind
3rd Draw: Trading Wagon with Golden Accents + 250 Mhl from Lord Stormwind
GRAND PRIZE: 500 Mehrials + 250 Mhl from Lord Stormwind + 50% of Accumulated Funds + CVC Date Night Package (A romantic dinner on the CVC balcony after-hours; use of the customer bedroom and outdoor bath house for the entire evening; a casual breakfast in the dining room before-hours. Estimated Prize Value: 150 mhl)

==== GAMES ====
(brought to you by Abby, Airy, and Amethine - the A-Team!)

#1 ELEMENTAL MAGE DRAW (E.M.D)
“There are many kinds of mages, and each one considers fighting another an easy triumph. Those who seek out weak foes gain power quickly, whereas those who do not wither and fall behind. At the end of the day, victory comes to the ruthless.”
  1. Number of Players: 2 or 3.
  2. Each player gets FOUR CARDS: Fire Mage, Water Mage, Air Mage, and Earth Mage.
  3. Player that will go first will be chosen via “!choose” command, followed by ascending alphabetical order according to Nickname List.
  4. For each turn in a round, there is ONE ‘Attacking Mage’, while the rest are ‘Defending Mages’.
  5. At the end of the turn – after IC posts - all Players draw a single card via “!choose Fire Earth Air Water” (in ANY order they choose).
  6. If the Attacking Mage’s element clashes against a Defending Mages’ element, Attacking Mage wins 2 point. If the Attacking Mage’s element does not clash with a Defending Mage’s element, Attacking Mage wins 1 point. If the Attacking Mage and Defending Mage drew the same element, Attacking Mage wins 0 points.
Example: Attacking Mage Player A draws “Fire Mage” Card. Defending Mage Player B draws “Water Mage”. Defending Mage Player C draws “Air Mage”. Defending Mage Player D draws “Water Mage”. Attacking Mage Player A earns 5 Points (2 Pts from Player B and D, but 1 Pt from Player C).
  7. Player who gets to 20 points first wins!
  8. Winner will earn 50% of accumulated funds earned through fees with an additional 50 Mhl courtesy of The Works (payment will be done via “!payout” by Manager).

#2 UNLUCKY DWARF
“Dwarves are some of the most stubborn people in the whole of Belariath! Neither one of them would want to admit they made a mistake or else face being ridiculed by his fellow brothers and sisters. But when things come crumbling, the others just drink away and keep mum about it, while the blame goes to the unlucky sod who dealt it.”
  1. Number of Players: 2+
  2. Player that will go first will be chosen via “!choose” command, followed by ascending alphabetical order according to Nickname List.
  3. Players are required to roll 1d100 every turn for every round and to survive, they must roll OVER the ‘Danger Level’.
  4. Starting from the First Round, the Danger Level is 10, which means players for that round must roll over 10 to survive.
  5. Following rounds will see the ‘Danger Level’ increase by 10. Then repeat from Step 3.
Example: First Round, Player A and B roll a 55 and 30 respectively, which are well above Danger Level 10. Second Round, Player A rolls a 15, which is lower than Danger Level 20. Player B safely rolls a 60 and survives. Third Round (Danger Level 30), Player A rolls 80 and is safe, but Player B rolls a 15. With two strikes, the tower crumbles! Player A survives and wins, while Player B is the Unlucky Dwarf.
  6. The wooden block tower requires only TWO strikes before it crumbles down.
  7. The Losing Player – the ‘Unlucky Dwarf’ – is taken out of the game.
  8. Game continues with Danger Level deducted by 20.
  9. Repeat Steps 3 to 8 until only ONE PLAYER remains.
  10. Remaining player wins!
  11. Winner will earn 50% of accumulated funds earned through fees with an additional 50 Mhl courtesy of The Works (payment will be done via “!payout” by Manager).

#3 GREEDY PIG
“What a greedy pig, that Pork Chop! Took too much for his own good and now he’s caught. Now he’s learning to sneak in bites right before we realized anything’s afoot. And now the cat’s joining in! Are they racing to see who can eat the most or something?”
  1. Number of Players: 2+
  2. Player that will go first will be chosen via “!choose” command, followed by ascending alphabetical order according to Nickname List.
  3. Before posting, a player can roll 1d6 as many times as they want.
  4. They can choose to keep rolling OR they can choose to HOLD.
  5. If the player rolls a 1, they score nothing and it becomes the next player's turn.
  6. If the player rolls any other number, it is added to their turn total and the player's turn continues.
  7. If a player chooses to "Hold", their turn total is added to their score, and it becomes the next player's turn.
Example: Player A begins a turn with a roll of 5. Player A could hold and score 5 points, but chooses to roll again. Player A rolls a 2, and could hold with a turn total of 7 points, but chooses to roll again. Player A rolls a 1, and must end their turn without scoring. The next player, Player B, rolls the sequence 6-5-2, after which they choose to hold, and adds their turn total of 13 points to their score.
  8. First player to get to 30 Points win!
  9. Winner will earn 50% of accumulated funds earned through fees with an additional 50 Mhl courtesy of The Works (payment will be done via “!payout” by Manager).
Hope to see you all there!
