The Necron(s)

For: Akris (Doing this submission for another player, but I welcome it for public use for everyone as we have no 'dark' familiars)
Type: Undead (Mystical Creature)
Appearance: A skeletal creature with glowing orbs of energy where its eyes would be, usually ranging in various neon colors with the exception of crimson as well. This color usually matches the faint glow seen from within its ribcage, which is often is masked by an inky black mist. This black inky mist flows throughout the Necron's skeleton, thought to give it its animated life. (Your Necron can be based off any mundane/non-mythical animal allowed for familiars.)

The Necron is a living entity made of the non-living. When a mundane creature dies (like a rabbit, a horse, bird or a cat) it may have died in hatred, anger or with a vengeance or some other unfinished business. This dark force returns it to life, animating the form anew by shredding the flesh asunder and bone to ash, creating a fleshy mass of an egg. This fleshy egg will hatch into the skeletal form of what it once was, though will turn to a vengeful roaming spirit if not bonded with another, usually one similar of the magical arts, particularly the dark or spiritual. Necron are cunning creatures, strong of will and loyal to the bone. Despite their evil appearance and dark ties, they themselves are not necessarily evil or dark. Though, many other creatures tend to react negatively towards them.

Abilities
Scent of Death: Being undead, the Necron is naturally drawn to death. Finding corpses and digging them up may come easier to the necromancer who has this familiar on their side. Likewise, a cleric, priest or shaman may more easily be led to those in the process of nearing the spirit world or calling a soul from it, and find their venture made more haste and serene by the familiar's handler and speedy path.
Dark Vision: The glowing eyes may give it away, but the Necron itself has keen vision in darkness. This is good for forests, caverns, nights, and other places where darkness tends to dwell.
