Note to self. Upon entering, the Dons were seen to be blooming. I cannot harvest any of the seeds for near a week yet lest the too young crusts fall apart and take not to soil. Compost was made and fed. A menagerie of egg shells, coffee grounds, and cow manure though not much of the later, to much acidic will override their need to be pollinated.
It was also noted, subject rats cannot be fed the Dons poison for another month or so, lest they keel over in death from to many dosages. I've not perfected the anti-dote and while it works on 43 percent of them, those were hardy younger rats. The older were still quite sickly.
All plants were fed, watered, shifted on the windows cell for air and sun. Both are highly required with some of the plants while the other pitcher hybrids seem to prefer only a little. All animals and bugs were fed and checked on. Rat supply is dwindling, I really must remember to trap a few more. Perhaps around the Inns back wall would be best. Or the swamps, they are more lucrative there. I hate the Jhore within the limits of the swamps however. Awful creatures.

No customers, but I did feed and water plants to animals and checked on Fred, my favorite rat test subject. Today he displayed some signs of life, twitching of legs. Giving him half part healing potion, half part cold water, third part melon squeezed, seems to have slowly revived him from the poisons clutch. I am pleased.

No customers, however, an interesting turn of events this evening. While rolling out the seeds from the Don plant to gather up the juices within them to use for the poison.. a small bit began seeping into the parchment used, so I used the long metal pick to scrape it up but, there was an odd coloration within it after doing so. So I brought out a new empty vial and scraped it within that except.. it clung to the glass, far more then the others had. It took quite a bit of rolling and tapping for it to slip further so that I might be able to cork it. I've set it aside and labelled it. I'd like to test it in a few days for consistency, coloration and effectiveness.

Success was intended and once proceeded within the guidelines given, success was had. In our possession within a locked box of heavy wood painted dark with heavy wired top, are five small white to yellow scorpions ranging from 0.8 inches in length to the largest at 1.2 inches.
Analyses:
These smaller varieties of Scorpions were found in the southern desert, the stingers are small, quick and yet the sacks look large, full of puss looking venom. Quick to strike, they would rather burrow under the sand which I have brought along, and small rocks, where they like to hide. Vicious when they feel trapped, there is little notification to when they will strike. Venom is a nerotoxin that have the affects of: Symptoms of a sting include pain, swelling, itching, vomiting, increased sweating, and vision problems. If the sting is quick. If the sting is treated within the hour, few affects last other then the pain, swelling. However, left untreated, the venom can work through the blood and nervous system of its victim quite quickly past the hour when treatment should be sought: Symptoms of a sting lasting past the hour include extreme pain, swelling of the limb where sting occurred. Seizing of the nervous system, extreme twitching of fingers, mouth, joints becoming sluggish.
Further regard and thought:
Very toxic, possible death could occur if left untreated for more then four hours, however, in extreme cases if one is allergic those symptoms can and have exceeded the one hour intoxication limit. If mixed with another human like races blood once the venom is extracted, an anti-venom can be made, or.. or more vicious poison. Must be injected, drinking would only cause vomiting, loss of lucidity, maybe even unconsciousness or more a state of death like sleep where breathing is shallow or perhaps near non-existent. Heart beat slowed, irregular but still curable, yet coma like state. If toxin is taken and distilled, only mild affects could occur to near paralyzation of victim. If doubled, within an hours time, give or take say ten minutes, the affect is rushed, immediate seizing of limbs, heart palpitation, coma like induced sleep. If untreated within four hours, certain death but.. this is only a guess. Must use a double dose on rat subject #4.

All plants and animals were fed and watered. Also, new cages are being built of this heavy glass and wood boxing. Tops are made of fine woven together steel thinly made and put along the walls in the back room so that we might have a better look at what we have.
