"Younger Wings" - By Fariday

I was sent a letter in the mail which contained a bit of prose written by Fariday. I have held onto it and not posted it, even though I said I would. I am now posting it though I am was tardy in doing so - RR

//Long are the hours that pass beneath
these younger wings of mine
And shallow is the ocean's call
from back and forth in time

I see the sky so high and low
I see horizons fair
With thoughts of home and dreams to come
my wings will take me there

I'll be but gone a tender while
but long enough to learn
those lessons worldly time will teach
those memories rightly earned

I'll walk those lands. I'll kiss that sky
I'll forge the winged path
But home I'll be with stories told
I fear no hardship's wrath

And so the sky is my domain
mine fresh untraveled road.
I'll go, I'll see and hear and feel
and follow my winged code

And when that road comes to a close
with stories for me to say
My wings will carry me beyond
into a brand new day.//
