Shadow Oath

I see the shadows twist and writhe
Yet in my mind the darkness hides
A power tenfold greater than
The source of when my quest began

The goddess of the darkened moon
Has called my hand to be her boon
My weapon heavy falls to me
And ferries me across that sea

The waves of shadow, crests of black
The feathered wings upon my back
The plates of steel and chains of same
The darkness that my mind has tamed

No evil shall shall my darkness hold
But honor and freedom, true and bold
This purest dark outshines the sun
I am the black moon's champion

Where light stands pale, and kings grow meek
The shadows will protect the weak
For darkness does not evil know
That idea does from cold men grow

Light and dark, they are but one
And each will have its champion
Neither good or bad are dark or light
But how one leads with will and might

So from my twilight heart I swear
Upon the life I'm born to bear
My darkness, shadows, mind and all
Will fight for hope, til the day I fall.

So is the will of the black moon mine
So shall it be, my goddess divine.
