The Starwell Story

There was a long separation while Lord Ryo left on his journey. Quiet spans of time in the evening left Tehya with little to do but write stories she could tell him on his return. If Lord Ryo enjoyed the stories she would take them to the Inn to share with all.

Parchment in hand she went over the story of the Starwell and the creation of the dark elves, it bordered on prose and song, and would be an entertaining tale of lore. It was very factual, and laced with words to entertain. Slipping her cloak off she wore black spider silk pants and a top that just showed the illusion of her bra to look like one of her dance costumes.

She began to write her story while sitting at Lord Ryo’s desk. There always was an appreciation of the finer things in life since Tehya’s roots stemmed from the green pastures of farm land and simple living.

She mouthed the words as she wrote them, her soft blue lips appreciating the sound of each word. One had to enjoy their work in order to make a story convincing.

Story:

Long ago there was an elf named Velrin who thought she was great enough to steal a small vial from the Starwell against the other's wishes. She managed to escape and hide beneath in the Netherlands, her light and the vials magic the only thing to save her.

Veldrin and Kirva made a pact, and although Kirva was chained she found the chains snap and she was released. Kirva once ruled the spider race and the webs of darkness. Veldrin called upon those in the darkness to worship Kirva...ahhh such deceit would eventually begin the dark race of Moriel's dark hair and red eyes and beautiful white hair. Their physical attributes lent them advantages in the darkness were they lived.

Then the Moriel surfaced and there was a great war with the elves above. Such a bloodbath and they had the ability to fight at night and had a grand victory as the astral council fell and Jaral claimed the Starwell as his own. He said he would crush the Moriel with the magic it held.

The rest was told with distaste …of course she was a Sylvan and her quill hovered over the paper before continuing the story.

Then Jalar pulled the Preservers in, and like it or not slaughtered those that refused in cold blood. It wasn't that easy...no the Preservers rose and formed their own army. Jalar's attentions were torn in two and he had not mastered the Starwell that well...they both lost many on both sides."

Her tale took a sad lilt as it went on and her demeanor seemed sad as she wrote of losses of her own race. But on went the tale of the Starwell.

A high priestess carried the vial up and she cast destruction upon the elven lands. Veldrin cast power from the Wellglass but it was never meant to be used in such a way. It burst into fire and consumed Veldrin.

She smiled when writing that tidbit of history and took another sip of water before going on.

Soon the lands were bathed in sunlight, a light brighter than you ever have seen. The Moriel were weak from such a glare and went back to the Nethergloom to survive. That wasn't the last of them of course, and with Jaral and the Starwell gone the two groups found it difficult to live with each other."

Writing of the Exalted high elves there was a slight twitch in her cheek.

The Exalted built grand buildings on the land of Belariath such luxury could never compare to the forest’s natural beauty.

They were named high elves ...yes high elves with luxury and riches, and the Preservers who never forgot their plight were called Sylvans.

Sylvans live happily in the forest and of course will always preserve. Something I vow to do Lord Ryo, for you or anyone who listens to my story.

The quill was set beside the parchment. The short but factual story would be read to Lord Ryo, and told in the Inn.
