Kitrye moved through the forest, following the game trail The small moriel ranger was finding out that snareing her prey was more hit or miss depending on where and how she set her small game snares. She'd set three in the past couple of weeks and two have paid off, at least she hopes so once she had a chance to bring the pelts to the Bazaar. Now, she had found >
17:02 Kitrye < yet another trail, this one of a different animal. This one seemed to enjoy climbing the trees.
17:10 Kitrye The moriel thought she had found the right type of tree the little critter seemed to inhabit. Amber eyes looked up into the tree, and squinted as the sunlight near blinded the dark elf still. Was that rodent looking tree climber still up there? She canted her head, listening though all that was heard was her own breathing nad the wind rustling the leaves >
17:11 Kitrye < above her head.
17:16 Kitrye Ah- Hah! There was the bandit looking furry creature. And on a low limb as well. Curiously Kitrye eyed the raccoon, sizing up the fat rodent looking thing and it's pelt. That bushy tail with the black on brown design seemed actually quite fashionable. Perhaps it would make for a nice garment. Or line a pair of boot's or something.
17:19 Kitrye No need for a trap this time. Kit pulled forth her sling and placed one of those rocks that some thief had placed in payment for her hard earned Mhl she'd taken. The theft still seethed in her mind as much as the dark winged torien she'd been fighting at the time. Anger narrowed her amber gaze as the dark elf twirled the sling a couple of times and then let >

17:19 Kitrye !qdice
17:19 Desdaemona Kitrye (Kitrye) uses Quest Dice against a target of 6 and gets a 9, hitting for 10 damage
17:22 Kitrye The raccoon dropped like a dead weight from the limb startling a squirrel in the next tree. the smaller creature dashed from limb to limb as Kit hurriedly reloaded the small leather slach in her sling. This wind up was hurried and quickly aimed as her amber gaze followed the squirrel as it bounded further and further away.
17:22 Kitrye !qdice
17:22 Desdaemona Kitrye (Kitrye) uses Quest Dice against a target of 6 and gets a 7, hitting for 7 damage
17:36 Kitrye Again Kitrye prooved Dark elf superiority over the common small game animals than the reason she was the queen of the sling. Her dead eye aim and clearly superior Moriel ability being quite obvious as she went to pick up first the closer raccoon, which was heavier than expected and then searched for the squirrel. She finally found the thing, a clean shot to >
17:37 Kitrye < the head had done the Raccoon in while the squirrel was lucky enough to live a few more seconds in agony brought on by Kirva's chosen to die at her blade.

17:45 Kitrye actually smiled as her amber gaze fell to the dead furred rabbit in her first snare. A clean break of the neck as the critter hopped all along it's trail in a predictable fashion. Only untying the snare from the limb that she had lain across the choke point, the ranger stepped off to the southwest to where her next snare had been lain, carrying her snare>
17:45 Kitrye < twine of silk rope coiled about her small hand and the rabbit still hanging from it.
18:08 Kitrye smiled even wider as the other rabbit seemed to have struggled and choked itself on the second snare. resetting the snares loop about the dead animals neck and tightening down, Kit untied this one from the tree branch and took both rabbit's back to add to her growing pile. She'd have to find this Lumio soon to get paid she imagined. Best not dally.

Kitrye was fuming, so silent she steamed and stewed as she followed the tracks. It was time to get some hunting snares set. Shamans were getting to me a nuance to the Moriel ranger. And likely would be the cause of her death. The watering hole promised to have what she desired. Several tracks had lead from it and into the woods. It was this reason she took to >
18:37 Kitrye < the hunt yet again. After all, survival took a back seat in the carriage to no one. it was soon, that the Moriel found the choke point that she was looking for, near the top of some hill.
18:47 Kitrye The dip wasn't much, but the tracks went right through it. Looking at the lip, Kitrye could see that the furred animal seemed to have a tenancy to dart through the dip and stop to sniff the air. Stepping wide from the trail, the Moriel ranger got her thick fallen branch and placed it over the choke point. Setting her pack down, the Ranger again tied her >

Again she made sure it was wide as her fist, maybe a little wider, even as she was reminded of the way Lindor touched her. Shuddering at the thought of that surface elf shaming her by having her heal the Moriel, Kitrye >
18:47 Kitrye < planted the few sticks it would take to funnel the fast moving animal to her snare. How *dare* that surface elf touch her without express permission! And to have her lip's so close to her own, a simple leaning forward would have marred her! The ranger shuddered again at how close Lindor had come to kissing her, and how she had healed her with that simple>

18:48 Kitrye With care given, well, as much as she could being distracted as she was...Kit wiped away her trace foot prints from the ground, leaving the animal tracks for the rodent to follow.

18:58 Kitrye continued along the hill for a few minutes, going with the wind and circling it...finding another set of tracks. These went in a different direction however. Following the tracks, the slender Moriel found they went between two trees close together. The tracks themselves dove into some underbrush, likely the lair of the animal that she could catch and >
18:58 Kitrye < sell at the bazaar. A frown appeared as Kitrye remembered just who bought the animals she trapped and hunted. Lumio...the wolfen shaman and the cause of her need to be touched by that surface elf. It would be one of his flunkies that exchanged the carcasses for mhl, but he would in turn profit somehow by reselling the pelts to some clothing shop. Gah, if>
18:58 Kitrye < only there was a way to make him pay for nearly killing her! If not for his shamanistic magic, Lindor would never had soiled the Moriel with her caress. Never made her even think on the fair haired elf maiden.
19:12 Kitrye found another dried out branch, likely from one of the trees to lash about her neck height to lower branches. Sometimes it was nice being less than five feet tall. from there, she tied her second snare, having to use the other two pieces of silken cord to secure her choke point. the noose dangled and Kit secured the opening with small twigs to keep it >
19:12 Kitrye < from turning about in the breeze and opened for the animal to stick it's neck through. A few more to barricade the sides of the trap and Kit left the way she had come to avoid tipping off her presence to the rodent.

19:26 Kitrye Topping the hill, Kitrye looked down at a stream...and a curious construction going underway. It seemed there were many logs and branches as well as mud and silt being used to build something in the water. Cautiously, the Moriel ranger crept closer to this odd construction of a beaver dam. Amber gaze found several of the creatures with flat tails climbing >
19:26 Kitrye < over the pile of debris as it appeared to her. Other's were swimming and dragging small branches in their mouths. "Hmmm..." the Moriel ranger thought to herself, having not encountered a beaver before and not knowing if beaver pelts were worth anything. But, there was a way to find out. slipping her sling from about her waist, Kitrye loaded a bullet into >
19:26 Kitrye < it.gaze traveling over the swimmer's, she didn't know if the beaver was aggressive or not. But at least they weren't black with the white stripe and bushy tail. By Kirva that skunk had made stunk up her cave! and it had been a week before she was able to get the cloying smell out of her nose.
19:29 Kitrye picked out a target near the water's edge, not too deep from her judgement and twirled the sling around, letting fly at the swimmer.

19:32 Kitrye A hit! the small animal made a startled sound and alerted it's companions who seemed to be scattering for the water's edge of the beaver construction. The Moriel loaded again and searched for the nearest beaver still in the water and approaching the edge of her bank. Another twirl and the bullet sailed through the air.
19:32 Kitrye !qdice
19:32 Desdaemona Kitrye (Kitrye) uses Quest Dice against a target of 6 and gets a 9, hitting for 6 damage
19:37 Kitrye Another strike! this one killed on the spot. Seeing the other's fleeing, Kitrye decided to quit for now. Wadeing into the chilly water, the Moriel retrieved her first kill and then the second returning to her bank. If only goblins were that easy to kill. The thought gave the Moriel another frown as she remembered the battle in the arena with Burgan.

19:39 Kitrye made her way with her fresh kills to her camp. Later, likely before dawn after the beaver's were skinned, cut and prepped for meals and selling of pelts, the Moriel would go check on her snares to find the rabbits.

Kitrye climbed along the side of the steep hill to where she'd lain a snare trap a few days ago. The Moriel moved with some skill in stealth and sure footedness learned through years of practice in the neathergloom. Lightfooted, but making much more racket than she cared to with the falling of the strangely colored leaves falling off the trees. Dusky colored >
19:32 Kitrye < skin blended well with the foliage however, even of her snow white hair did give away her heritage too much. Nearly there she altered course to approach the game trail.
19:38 Kitrye Amber eyes narrowed as she spied the snare trap, thinking the small beast had eluded her. Then those eyes narrowed further as she noticed the branch still in place, but the length of thin silken rope had gone missing. Approaching with more curiosity, she considered the knot *may* have came undone to the struggles of a dying rabbit. But that was unlikely for >
19:38 Kitrye < the ranger. this was a good part of her livelihood. A way to gain food and coin for simple tasks such as skinning hides and selling them to the Bazaar. More searching showed a disturbed trail leading away from her snare....And not a rabbit track.
19:53 Kitrye cursed in the dark elven tongue. A thief! A thief had taken her rabbit! The Kopis strapped to her shapely thigh was gripped. Something...No...Someone! had taken her meal and Mhl. Studying the tracks she found in the disturbed leaves, the ranger determined it was a two legged vermin. Moving with some speed, though not at a run, Kit moved to track this >
19:53 Kitrye < individual and show him it was unwise to steal a catch for a Moriel female. Judging from the freshness of the tracks, this person, one in number couldn't have been gone too long.
20:01 Kitrye continued to move around the hill and nearly over the top, stopping to peer over the edge of the hill and into the forest beyond. The trail was fairly still easy to see in the failing light, especially for a Moriel who could read the trail blazed in the strangely falling leaves. Creeping over the top of the hill, Kit was quick to follow the tracks down >
20:01 Kitrye < it's opposite side and make her way further, closer to her prey.
20:06 Kitrye soon saw a flicker of light. A campfire....Out in the open. Unlike her own as she kept it close to a rock and below a hills crest to minimize her chances of being seen. Amateur. But the fire did not bode well if the rabbit was being cooked already. Carefully, the Moriel ranger moved in, her hand leaving her blade to unwrap her sling from around her waist
20:17 Kitrye The wolfen was covered in a plentiful coat of dense and thick grey fur that betrays it's coarse appearance on touch, revealing a soft and almost silk like feeling. At 7'4 you would expect a wolf to take advantage of his size and develop his muscles to be a brawler and grappler,The wolfe is more lean, toned, chiseled, and flexible rather>
20:17 Kitrye than powerful and muscular. Near enough Nude, the hunter/ thief was sitting cross legged, having just stared the peeling of the rabbit's skin as Kitrye watched. The lone warrior seemed to not notice her for a bit. His misery then. Sling was armed with one of her dwindling supply of bullets. But that was ok, she'd not need the childs weapon after she had >
20:17 Kitrye < emptied her pouch.

20:22 Kitrye The missed shot alerted the wolfen he was under attack as it rebounded off a tree. Quickly the warrior got to his feet and unsheathed his sword as Kit reloaded her sling. So, he thought the dark would save him? The ranger let fly with another bullet.

The warrior, seemingly in shock at such a gutsy move from one so small, died before luck killed off the Moriel.

(00:06:49) Maerwyn: Fingers brushed against the knocked arrow as Maerwyn crept down the forest path, eyes scanning the edges of the narrow trail for tracks or signs of a passing game trail. Choosing once more to hunt upon unfamiliar lands, away from those she had frequented
(00:06:49) Maerwyn: with her father had the expected difficulties. Not knowing the lay of the land, nor the paths the animals often frequented. Sticking to the trails helped with not becoming lost but as she continued further and further came to the conclusion she was going to have little
(00:06:49) Maerwyn: luck with finding any animals so after finding a worthwhile landmark she turned off the trail and stepped into the forest proper.

(00:20:02) Maerwyn: a quail. Tch, figures. Still it was a good size and a good shot should spare most of the meat so slowly her shortbow was raised and a shot lined up as the unaware bird continued on in search of food.

(00:31:22) Maerwyn: Not too much further away, Maerwyn spots a large pond up ahead, deep enough that the water was still cool and not overgrown with algae, a good drinking spot, and after finding nothing other than an excited squirrel she puts down her bow and draws out rope
(00:31:22) Maerwyn: from her pack to begin making some snares.

(00:44:06) Maerwyn: She took the rope she had salvaged from previous snares, and cut some additional lengths to fill in what extra she needed, after walking around the edge of the pond to scout out a good location for them. One was placed near the edge of the pond, the other further
(00:44:06) Maerwyn: from the shore near some markings she noted that may have been caused by something walking through. After making her own markings on the trees nearby to signify where she had left the snares Maerwyn collected her bow and backtracked back toward the path,

From there it was a much simpler task of finding the snares she had left nearby.

Clean kill it looked like, and the water was cool enough even in this weather that the meat should be preserved, though if it had soaked much longer there may have been some problems. Freeing the snare from its lashings she lifted up the animal and looked up at the trees in search of the markings she had put down for the

Nothing big yet, but her first successful hunt completely alone was thrilling and satisfying, and hopefully worth a little coin back in Nanthalion.

Most of the footprints end after the animals that made them left the muddy surface but a smaller animal seems to have been less careful so he can slowly follow his track.Crouching the tribesman sneaks through the forest careful not to step on a twig or amke any noise.*
[16:31] * Katca follows the track through the depth of the forest pushing the vines and branches of smaller trees out of his way while his large steps take him forward, closer to the small animal. His breath goes faster and his fingers grip his dagger tighter with every rustling-sound he hears.*

[16:53] * Katca kneels in the muddy water of the small waterhole where he found his tracks earlier. His hands run through the wet mud and he bows down over the remaining footprints to find a hint on any other possible prey he could hunt.*

[17:11] * Katca finally approches the duck he has been following for now.He grabs his dagger tighter and watches the duck swim over a pond of water.Hiding behind a rock that lies half inside of the pond he lets his body slowly glide into the water waiting for the duck to come closer. His breath goes faster and his fingers twitch with every movement of the duck as he stares in its direction.*
[17:17] <+Katca> !qdice
[17:17] <@Desdaemona> Katca (Katca) uses Quest Dice against a target of 6 and gets a 9, hitting for 4 damage
[17:19] * Katca pounches at the duck as it wants to pass by the rock he has been waiting again. The duck screams out in fear and his wings nearly cause more water to fly as the pouncing man jumping at the little bird.Swiftly his left hand closes around the neck of the inferior creature and his dagger reaches it too cutting it's throath and killing the animal.*
[17:22] * Katca grins as he realizes what a sucess this days hunt was.Using the situation he washes of the dirt and blood as long as he is in the pond before he walks straight back to his pouches to store the dead duck in the same pouch as the dead squirrel.*

Name:Maerwyn
Date and Time: 26th and 27th of July 2015

Used Lumios freelancing guide
What i did:Caught a quail
Paid: no

(11:48:35) Desdaemona: Current time (as shown by Message Board) in UTC/GMT is: 2015-07-26 19:31:52 - please remember this is NOT game time

(11:58:43) Maerwyn: Maerwyn was back on the path, on her way to the pond where she had a bit of luck last time she was there. While she was planning to put down more snares there, she still had her bow drawn and at the ready, fingertips brushing along the fletching of the knocked arrow just in case she came across something worth shooting along the way. Steps light and
(11:58:43) Maerwyn: measured, blue eyes gazing past the trees for any signs of movement.

(12:02:15) Maerwyn: !r 1d3
(12:02:17) Desdaemona: Maerwyn rolls for 1 dice at 3 sides per die: 3 Result: 3
(12:02:25) Maerwyn: !choose small small itgetsaway
(12:02:28) Desdaemona: I choose "itgetsaway" from the 3 options supplied by Maerwyn

(12:07:42) Maerwyn: And only minutes after she steps off of the path, she heard the rustling of branches. Eyes snapping to the brush as her steps freeze... then a frown comes across her lips as whatever she had startled continues running away. She didn't even get a chance to see what it was and the underbrush in the area was too thick for her to look for its tracks. With
(12:07:42) Maerwyn: a sigh she continued on toward the pond.

(12:10:57) Maerwyn: !choose small small itgetsaway
(12:11:13) Desdaemona: I choose "itgetsaway" from the 3 options supplied by Maerwyn

(12:15:46) Maerwyn: Another startled beast that gets away, the deer huffing at her before running and jumping before she could get a shot. She considered trying to track it down for a moment, but in the summer heat she figured it wouldn't be worth it this time. A few minutes later she finally reaches the pond, a watering hole for some creatures and the last
(12:15:46) Maerwyn: place she had success catching something with her snares. Circling slowly around the pool of water Maerwyn finds a fresh spot of tracks and draws one of her rope snares from her pack to begin setting it.

(12:32:19) Maerwyn: The snare first snare was set and Maerwyn stepped back, memorizing the location she had left the snare before turning and moving on down a game trail she came across nearby. Walking several minutes down the trail to have it be a good distance from her first snare to place down a second.

(12:41:50) Maerwyn: Her traps were set, all she could do was wait now, but with this heat she was not going to wait out her. It's a bit of a march but she should be able to get to the inn or maybe the town and get some things done before it gets too late. Wasting no further time she leaves the pond and heads back to the path that will take her back.

(13:37:31) Desdaemona: Maerwyn rolls for 1 dice at 2 sides per die: 1 Result: 1

(13:44:18) Maerwyn: The stop at town took more time than she had expected, so Maerwyn didn't bother going slow or keeping her bow at the ready for something to shoot as she made her way down the path toward her snares. If they sit for too long some predator is bound to eat anything she may have caught in them. At the landmark she had made a mental note of
(13:44:18) Maerwyn: the human left the trail and weaved between the trees in search of the pond. This will be her fourth time there now, so finding it came without too much difficulty... her first trap however had nothing in it.

(13:40:25) Maerwyn: !choose Small Small Small Small Small Medium Medium Medium Medium Large
(13:40:27) Desdaemona: I choose "Small" from the 10 options supplied by Maerwyn
(13:48:00) Maerwyn: !choose Rabbit squirrel quail duck goose "small medium"
(13:48:01) Desdaemona: I choose "quail" from the 6 options supplied by Maerwyn

(13:54:06) Maerwyn: Her second trap, however, had a bit more fortune. A quail... not much but still better than an empty snare. Making certain the bird was dead Maerwyn collected her snares and headed back to the path that will take her on to the road to town.
