6[14:51] * +Samson-Artimus would watch as the dog lunged at a huge baby pig. True it was a baby but the size on it clearly showed that the animal had been well taken care of. If he would of been able to see before the lunge he might of stoped the dog to let it grow larger for futer hunting.. yet it was to late, by the time he got there teh dog had lached onto the throat, giving a quick yank and cutting the caroted <14next2>
01[14:51] <+Samson-Artimus> <14more1> arterie with its teeth. THe big bled out in under three minutes. That done he would pat the dog. "Good boy." THis done he would begin to gut the animal then and there, tossing th eheart and liver to the dog. <4end1>
06[14:55] * +Samson-Artimus once he was done he would toss the animal over his shoulder, now much lighter thanks to the gutting and continue. The animal didnt slow him down much sence it was a baby, despite it being a very large baby. As he was heading back to camp he decided to let the dog get one more run in

06[15:04] * +Samson-Artimus would notice the dog start yiping and dashing off to another trail. Instantly he noticed he was slighlty slower with the little carcas on him. Thus he would not be able to keep up as much. the dog he had confidence in, feeling as if he could rely on it.

06[15:05] * +Samson-Artimus would look in shock to see the dog lunging at a large boar. The only good thing was it hadnt noticed where the dog came from, its neck still raised slightly and giving a good target for the dog.

6[15:08] * +Samson-Artimus would see the boar jump out of the way just in time, the dogs hind quarters clearly in view as a tusk grazed the flesh of he dog. Just a scratch but now the pit was pissed and the owner as well, tossing a dagger at the hog.

[15:10] * +Samson-Artimus nailed the animal hard, instantly turning its attention to him as the blade thuded right at the heart.. but it missed the actual vitals ever so slightly. The boar raming towards Samson as he ducked and rolled out of the way just in time, second dagger drawn as the pit went in for another attack

[15:12] * +Samson-Artimus the dog horribly missnig because of the pain from the wound as the boar attacked samson again.
6[15:13] * +Samson-Artimus would grunt as he tried to roll out of the way once more, being scraped on the cheek by the tusks. That was to close. As he rose he woudl take aim and strike again with the dagger

[15:13] <@Desdaemona> Samson-Artimus (Samson Artimus) uses Quest Dice against a target of 6 and gets a 8, hitting for 3 damage
06[15:14] * +Samson-Artimus would watch as the dog tore into the back of the neck, finally bringing the animal down.. The large boar having at least injured them both. He would move to gut it and throw it over the other shoulder, now tired beyond all belief and slowly bringing the animals to his camp to call it a day

[21:57] * +Vera would walk through the forest, though this time in a much different manner than she normally did. Sure, she wore her robes and her white fur cloak, but they were easy to move in, which made things a tad less difficult and frustrating. She shifted slightly, glancing up at her mate that was walking beside her, a smile touching her lips. Amethyst hues shimmered in the low lighting, chocolate ...
[21:57] <+Vera> ... tresses bouncing around her features. Apollo would be not too far behind her, following his two masters, ready to aid within anything they might need. "Chilly, but beautiful night, hm my Love?"

[22:01] * +Cole seemed to blend into the surroundings. The torians white wings and white robe matching perfectly into the snow. A simple Warmth spell keeping the worst of winter's bite from his bones as he plotted along with Vera. They didn't move all that quietly, but they still weren't so far from the heavly trodden roads. "Yes Vera, it is a beautiful night," he said turning to look over the woman. There ...
[22:01] <+Cole> ... was a curious gleam in his eyes as he watched her, admiring her form in the moon light. "So why the sudden interest in hunting dear?" he asked with a lofted brow.

[22:10] * +Vera smiled brightly as she looked over her lover, inhaling deeply and just enjoying the moments with him. She then shrugged at his questions, her tongue ghosting her lips. "Well... I would like to perhaps get a rug, and maybe we will get something if we hunt?" She giggled softly, tilting her head and glancing to the path they walked along. She would then pause, glancing at the tracks that ...
[22:10] <+Vera> ... suddenly appeared off to the side. She would lift her nose, the end of it twitching slightly as she inhaled deeply, taking in the scent of the night's air and the apparent animals within it. She would glance to Cole and grin wickedly. "Well, Love. Looks like I found dinner, hm?" She cooed softly to him, not loud enough to scar anything away in case they were closer than she ...
[22:10] <+Vera> ... thought.

[22:19] <+Cole> The pair was well of the beaten path now. It was quiet out, peacefull. Only the cruch of snow beneath their feet breaking the silence. The blond haired man gave his mate a nod. "I'll see if I can't find my own.." He said wanting to test his own skills. Trained as a mage, but wanting to bring the brute strenth that he was born with, Cole looked forwards to trying to find a bit of game. "I think ...
[22:19] <+Cole> ... I'll head off my own way for a bit. Good luck love," He said moving swiftly to the vulpines side to give her a quick kiss on her cheek before moving off into the woods. It was slow going picking along the trees, Coles ears strained to hear the slightest noise as his usually excellent vision was tried to it's limits in the unusually dark night.

[22:23] * +Vera knew that she couldn't take the pheasant for dinner in order to get the mhl for it, so she would take it and sell it at the bazaar. Ears twitched as she heard Cole's words, a grin touching those luscious tiers. "Alright! This is going to be fun. Let's put a wager on it. Whoever's game is bigger, gets to get the other to do whatever they want for a night." She winked, leaning up to kiss at ...
[22:23] <+Vera> ... the corners of his lips before centering the kiss and then leaning back. "Meet back where it's safe, Love." She whispered, nodding slightly as she went off in the direction of the small bird. She would crouch low to the ground, inhaling sharply, trying to pick up the scent. Although she heard it first, eyes widening. She would mouth the words 'holy shit, that's close!', but she dare not say ...
[22:23] <+Vera> ... anything in fear of it taking off. She would quickly grab her dagger, take aim and throw it. If she hit right, hopefully it would kill the thing and they would get some money for it, but if not... She would have to chase it, because it would for sure scare the thing off. ...

[22:25] <+Vera> !r 1d10
[22:25] <@Desdaemona> Vera rolls for 1 dice at 10 sides per die: 3

[22:29] * +Vera blinked, completely astonished that she missed, standing there blinking for a moment. Quickly she would gather herself together and run forward, glancing for the glinting of the mithril dagger in the snow. She blinked, searching, searching, and there! Quickly she would snatch the dagger up and look for which way the stupid pheasent ran. She sighed and would pick up after the small tracks, ...
[22:29] <+Vera> ... glancing around for it.

[22:32] * +Vera would glance over her shoulder, looking for any sign of Cole, not wishing to get too far, though she would be able to smell him and figure out where he was, it would be a hassle if he needed anything. Besides, she had no idea what he was hunting. Hands tightening around the base of the dagger. When she saw the tracks of the pheasant, she would quickly run forward, inhaling sharply and ...
[22:32] <+Vera> ... picking up on the scent. She narrowed her eyes, cursing the chicken in her mind for being so stupid and lucky enough to get away... Stupid thing. She would silently stalk, bringing herself closer and readying her shot.

[22:37] <+Vera> When she was close enough, shivers rolled down her spine and she would crouch even lower. Her tongue would trace along luscious tiers, as though this would prepare her for the fight she was about to have again... With a goddamned chicken. She would then twirl her dagger in her hands, trying to steady her shot. When she was sure she had it aimed, although last time she thought she had it aimed as ...
[22:37] <+Vera> ... well, she would throw it. Her eyes would narrow, swearing that if she didn't get it, she might scream. Silently she wondered how Cole was doing, though she knew he would yell if he needed her.

[22:37] <@Desdaemona> Vera rolls for 1 dice at 10 sides per die: 7

[22:47] * +Vera damn near screamed anyways as the dagger flew into the pheasant's head, a grin touching her luscious lips. She would saunter her way over and glance down to the dead bird, her hands resting on her hips. "Ha! Couldn't avoid that one, could you?" She giggled and would pick it up by it's feet, grabbing her dagger from the snow nearby. The dark crimson liquid would stain the snow as she walked. ...
[22:47] <+Vera> ... She would walk over to where Apollo stood obediently, a soft whinny given, which wouldn't seem out of place to any wildlife, sure not to scare them. She would grab the rope and blanket she had thrown over Apollo and put them both in the snow beside him. She would lay the pheasant down and glance around. Ears would twitch as she listened for Cole. He was neither back, nor calling for help, so she ...
[22:47] <+Vera> ... would search for something else.

[22:53] * +Vera would shiver slightly, though not out of chill, but out of excitement. Odd that her cries of success and talking to a dead bird didn't scare the creatures away, as she could see new tracks in the snow. A wicked grin crossed her lips, though this one was bigger... MUCH bigger. She blinked, stalking through the trees, until she saw it. She would stumble back to hide behind a tree, blinking ...
[22:53] <+Vera> ... and peeking around at it. She'd damn near run into it, but... What was it? Then she heart a grunt and a snort, trying hard not to laugh. First chicken, then a pig. She nodded, getting her dagger ready, hopefully going to strike. Though she would have to be careful of the tusks. Though simply large pics, they were tough.

Vera would grip her dagger and push off the tree's base, a growl building in the depths of her chest. She would snarl and dart towards the boar. The boar would lift it's head and squeal, takikng a moment to decide whether or not it should run away or fight back. She smirk and tilted her head, before lunging at it. She was hoping to cut it's throat, letting it bleed out. Now, was the moment of truth. Would she hit it? Or would she miss? At least she could justify missing this, though a larger target, your aim had to be right and luck had to be good. If the beast knocked her over, he could gore her and be the one hunting.

[23:02] * +Vera wouldn't quite hit the boar enough to cut it's throat, though her dagger would sink deep into the right front shoulder. She squealed with delight as she pulled the blood soaked knife from it's flesh, only to be tossed to the ground. "Oomph!" The air was knocked from her as she fell back, her eyes unfocusing for a moment. She took a moment to capture her stolen breath, eyes widening as the ...
[23:02] <+Vera> ... beast attempted to come roaring towards her, probably on adrenaline and shere will. Quickly she would roll away from it.

[23:04] * +Vera would shift slightly in the snow, slowly climbing to her feet, her fingers running through her hair, pulling the silken strands away from her eyes. She inhaled deeply, licking those luscious tiers. She narrowed her eyes, bending over and allowing a snarl to rip from her lips. "Come and get me, fucker." She hissed, before running towards it. Though she wouldn't strike yet, hoping to wear the ...
[23:04] <+Vera> ... animal out. She would doge as it ran towards her, one of the horns grabbing her clothing, but doing nothing more than pulling at it.

[23:09] * +Vera would pant, though unlike a dog, her tongue would not loll out the side of her mouth. She inhaled sharply, glancing down at her clothing. "You are damned lucky that didn't fucking wreck my clothes, pig!" She lunged forward then, this time hoping to get another stab, silently wondering just how long the pig would be able to hold out for. Her large auds would flatten atop her head as she ran, ...
[23:09] <+Vera> ... tail swishing back and forth to keep her balanced as she ran. She would jump high into the air, hoping to sink the metal into his flank.

[23:12] * +Vera would fail miserably as the boar dodged to the side. She would fall to her hands and knees, tossing the dagger slightly as not to land on it. She would shift slightly, glancing around for the dagger. She snarled, eyes scanning the snow. "Come on, come on..." She growled, tail slashing the air as she searched, stealing a glance over her shoulder to see where the boar was... And too close.

[23:14] * +Vera would oomph, falling back into the snow, wincing. She found her dagger, and though it didn't plunge into her own flesh, it would lean a neat little mark along her arm. "Damned, pig." She cursed, vowing she would have the damned thing for breakfast. Quickly she would wrap her fingers around the dagger, looking up towards the pig running towards her. It would catch her in the chest and knock ...
[23:14] <+Vera> ... her back once more. She would fall back, snarling and taking a moment to focus once more.

[23:16] <+Vera> Once focused, Vera would climb to her feet and steady herself, fingers white knuckling around the dagger's hilt. She would narrow her eyes, lips pulling back over her teeth. "Stupid, Animal." She cursed him, tilting her head slightly. "Fine, fair enough, but I swear I am going to kill you." She growled and would lunge forwards, a cloud of snow kicked up behind her. She would jump into the air in ...
[23:16] <+Vera> ... one agile move, clutching her dagger with both hands, again hoping to catch it in the flank, which would help to make it slow.

[23:17] <@Desdaemona> Vera rolls for 1 dice at 10 sides per die: 9

[23:19] * +Vera would come down fast and hard with the dagger, sinking it into the pig's flank like a hot knife into butter. She grunted as it seemed to hit bone, throwing her off and making her tumble slightly. Quickly she would gather herself, tumbling in a neat somersault. She would grin, pulling her dagger from it's flesh. The boar would take a moment to gather itself, giving a snort and a squeal of ...
[23:19] <+Vera> ... plea. Vera frowned for a moment, but she needed this as well... So she couldn't stop there.

[23:21] * +Vera would climg to her feet and take a moment, as though giving herself as well as the boar a moment of breath, although the boar didn't seem to want that. Quickly the boar would lumber towards her, leaving her disoriented and confused. She wasn't sure what to do, so she would tumble out of the way, still hoping for a breathing moment. She would take that moment, as brief as it was, before ...
[23:21] <+Vera> ... steadying herself for the next attack. This would be to slice his throat open, hoping to make his death quick for the both of them.

[23:22] * +Vera would quickly bolt through the snow, dagger in hand, breaths coming in short pants as she bolted towards the pig. This one wouldn't be a jump attack, but rather a slide beneath, hoping to come up at him from under. She would run forward, getting good speed as the pig steadied and braced itself before running towards her as well. She would curve one leg beneath her, sliding towards the pig, ...
[23:22] <+Vera> ... bracing her dagger and getting ready.

[23:23] <+Vera> !r 1d10
[23:23] <@Desdaemona> Vera rolls for 1 dice at 10 sides per die: 10

[23:32] * +Vera almost screamed with delight as the dagger sliced through his neck, though this would cause the boar to fall atop her. She squeaked and wriggled for a moment, eyes widening before she rolled the boar onto it's back. She panted and took a moment to gather herself. Once gathered, she would grab the hind legs of the boar and drag it to where Apollo stood waiting. She would roll the large beast ...
[23:32] <+Vera> ... onto the blanket with the small pheasant, a glare shot at the small chicken. "Stupid chicken." She growled, before plopping down in the snow beside her two kills. She panted and would grab some snow in attempts to wipe some of the blood off of her, knowing she could heat herself up being a fire mage and all.

[00:25] * +Vera would look up from her seat within the snow, a smile touching those luscious tiers. Slowly she would push herself to her feat and tilt her head, ears twitching as she listened. There had been a cry of death and the smell within the air. Cole was finished. She would lean over and kiss Apollo's cheek, giving him a pat. "Stay here... I am going to get Cole." She breathed to him before moving ...
[00:25] <+Vera> ... through the snow with ease, following her nose. Sure, she was able to move quickly and easily because she had time to rest. She would tilt her head when she saw him leaning against a very dead bear. "Cole!" She breathed, blinking and wrinkling her nose as she moved towards him. She would crouch and look him over, making sure he wasn't too hurt. "You alright? We should get the kills home so we ...
[00:25] <+Vera> ... can butcher them and deliver them to the bazaar tomorrow." She breathed softly to her mate.

[00:30] * +Cole nodded at Vera. "I'm.. fine.. " he said smiling up at her. His hand running over the bears head as if it were an old friend of his. The torian looked to be a complete mess. The shallow cuts in his chest staining his robe crimson. His feathers flecked with blood here and there. His chest visible in places from the tears in his robe and dozens of bruises on his arms. Yet his eyes smiled back ...
[00:30] <+Cole> ... vibrantly at Vera. "I think.. I'm just going to rest a moment love while you bring the horse back for this. He fought well..." He said looking down at it once again. "And I'm glad that he'll be put to good use, what did you find anyways love?" Cole asked her looking her over for cuts and bruises.

[00:38] * +Vera nodded and offered a smile before extending a hand to the man to offer to help him up. She frowned as she scanned him, though they were small cuts, nothing a good bath and some time couldn't heal. "I need to get you home. We need to have a shower, my Love... And then I will get you dirty in a lot of other ways." She giggled and then, before nodding to his words, dropping his arms. She ...
[00:38] <+Vera> ... frowned and would kneel in the snow beside him, brushing hair away from his blood stained face. "I just hope you're alright. A little rest, a bath, and a meal when we get home should get you all cleaned up. I will have it ready and waiting." She whispered, placing a kiss to his lips where there was no blood. She then smiled brightly. "A small pheasant and a fair sized wild boar." She nodded and ...
[00:38] <+Vera> ... would lean back, allowing him to look her over. She only seemed to have a couple scrapes and a bit more bruises, though she seemed fine enough. "Let me get Apollo set up with dragging the boar and the pheasant in the blanket, and I will get him over here. Then I will head home and you can take him and I will meet you there." She smiled brightly, kissing him once more. She would then run, grab ...
[00:38] <+Vera> ... the horse and the dead animals, hooking them up in such a way that Apollo could drag them through the snow, but not in a way it would ruin any of their pelts. Returning to Cole, she would say goodbye and give him one more kiss. "See you at home, Love." She cooed before disappearing. ...

[15:33] <@Desdaemona> I choose "huge" from the 10 options supplied by Vera

[15:30] * +Vera would be riding through the forest, and though Apollo's hooves were large and heavy, they seemed to be near silent in the woods. The two made a strong pair. Vera would glance down to the trusty steed who's back she rode easily upon. "Ready for this, Apollo?" She breathed softly to the horse, watching his ears swivel to catch those quiet words. She was better prepared today, with much more ...
[15:30] <+Vera> ... rope, and a few more blankets. She would do the same as last time, catch the prey, wrap it in the blanket and carry it home to butcher it before she would eventually sell the things at the bazaar.

[15:32] * +Vera would nudge Apollo to come to a halt when she noticed tracks, droppings and a smell coming not too far from them. Silently, she would slip off of the horse leaning over to give him a rub along the forehead and a gentle kiss upon his cheek. "Be still, Apollo. I will be back." She cooed to the beast before turning and heading towards the smell, her dagger clutched tightly in her hand. Another ...
[15:32] <+Vera> ... night of hunting would be good for her, and it would help with the mhl, as well as training and allowing her to grow stronger.

[15:35] <+Vera> When the baby wild pig was seen, she would blink slightly, as though unbelieving that the big was even a baby at all. She shifted slightly, careful not to make a noise as she inspected more closely. She would lift her nose to the air and inhale deeply, ears flicking atop her head to catch any sounds that might scare the thing away. She shook her head, gathering it should be an easy kill, before ...
[15:35] <+Vera> ... running towards it. Hopefully a quick stab would leave it stunned so that she might kill it and take it with her.

[15:35] <+Vera> !r 1d10
[15:35] <@Desdaemona> Vera rolls for 1 dice at 10 sides per die: 4
[15:37] <+Vera> A sickening growl would rip through the air as she ripped towards the pig, ready to stab and kill, only to be surprised by the pig. He would squeal and dart away from her. She blinked, landing in a heap of herself in the snow. She sighed, thinking this might be like that stupid 'chicken' from the other night. She sighed, pushing herself to her feet and taking a moment to glance around to see ...
[15:37] <+Vera> ... which way the pig went exactly.

[15:42] * +Vera would pick up on the trail once more, this time taking the time to stalk a bit more... Stealthily. She would lower her body close to the ground, eyes narrowing slightly as she looked ahead of her for the stupid pig that had managed to evade the much large woman's attack.. She would grip her dagger more tightly as she caught the tracks. She would pause, leaning behind a large tree, a gentle ...
[15:42] <+Vera> ... sigh escaping her lips, though not so loud as to give away her position.

[16:06] * +Vera would then push off the tree, leaving a kick up of snow behind her. *Poof* She would give a battle cry, a growl ripping from her lungs as she flung herself towards the huge baby pig, her tail lashing behind her for balance and ears flattened against her skull. Her dagger was clutched tightly in her hand as she ran, again, hoping to catch the pig at the wrong moment for it, but the right ...

[16:08] * +Vera gasped, her foot hooking a fallen root in the snow covereed ground, falling ass over tea kettle into a pile of snow. She would lay there for a moment in order to gather herself. Her chest would rise and fall with her quick pants as she attempted to gather herself. She winced, having caught her arm and scraped it pretty badly, though nothing time wouldn't heal. Slowly pushing herself to her ...
[16:08] <+Vera> ... feet she would search the snow for the dagger that had apparently not been helping her in this fight.

[16:15] * +Vera finally found it, though her fingers had shown signs of the length of time that took. She was shaking slightly. Slowly she would close her eyes and focus, warming herself and making a mental note to be more careful next time. True, she was going to be a fire mage, but that didn't mean that she couldn't freeze. She shifted to her feet and would take a moment to glance around, looking for any ...
[16:15] <+Vera> ... sign of the stupid bacon. She would lift her hand to run her fingers through her hair, pulling the strands away from her eyes.

[16:17] * +Vera would spot the tracks of the pig, and ONCE AGAIN, make herself towards it. She would sigh under her breath, careful not to scare the stupid pig away before she even got to it. She would shift slightly and twirl the dagger in her hands, as though getting a feel for the already farmilliar dagger. She would smile wickedly, trying toa different tactic this time and running towards it silently.

[16:20] <+Vera> Well go figure that would work. Quickly she would sink her blade in a clean cut to the huge baby pig's heart, rendering it dead in a mere moment or two. She would then take a moment to gather herself, falling to the ground and panting slightly. She would pat the dead carcas beside her and glance over at it, her tongue ghosting her lips. "Well you sure fif give me a good fight there, little big ...
[16:20] <+Vera> ... one. You are oddly large for a piglet, but... All the same I guess." She smiled gently and would slowly raise to her feet.

[16:21] <@Desdaemona> I choose "large" from the 10 options supplied by Vera

[16:25] * +Vera would lean down and grab the two hind legs of the baby pig to carry it back to where Apollo stood waiting. His snow white hide would blend in well with their surroundings, though she knew such a hide would be slightly staned with the crimson that would cover his rider when she was finished the hunt. Though it wasn't as though the both of them wouldn't get a good wash afterwards. Apollo was a ...
[16:25] <+Vera> ... good companion for hunting, always there to help carry the kills home. She would walk back to Apollo, nose lifted slightly to take in the scent of another animal. "Hmm..."

[16:28] * +Vera grinned slightly and would drop the dead piglet onto the awaiting blanket to be covered later while she went to hunt to new scent. She would take a minute to gently stroke her blood covered fingers along the forehead and front of Apollo's nose. He would whinny and nudge into her, as though speaking to her. She giggled softly and nodded slightly, ears flickering atop her head. "Yes, I know. ...
[16:28] <+Vera> ... It -is- kind of like war paint." She nodded with a gentle smile before turning around and sniffing out the scent of the larger animal. What could it be?

[16:31] * +Vera would crouch low to the ground, stalking along the forest floor towards the large prey. When she saw it, it almost took her by surprise. A large stag with brilliant horns. His fur shimmered in the low lighting of the woods and those brilliant large brown eyes glimmered. She shifted a bit, watching it's ears twitch. She would have to be careful as to not alert the large stag. She would ...
[16:31] <+Vera> ... prepare her dagger and again push off from the ground beneath her, hoping to hit it, though she knew this would take a couple more tries than the little piglet she'd been 'fighting' earlier.

[16:40] * +Vera would trip up, stepping on a twig and cursing as it snapped beneath her weight. Sure, she wouldn't be seen when the stag lifted it's head, but it was enough to send it running a bit further away. A gentle sigh escaped her lips as she moved silently through the woods, stalking the creature silently. She would then spot the stag once more, stalking towards it with her dagger. She hoped to leap ...
[16:40] <+Vera> ... on it from behind and stab into one of it's shoulders, hoping to throw it off. Quickly pushing off, she would jump into the air, hoping to connect.

[21:16] * +Vera would inhale sharply as she lept through the air... And missed. She grunted as she hit the ground, tumbling through the snow and landing with her back against a rock. She would cry out slightly, although it would leave nothing more than a bruise. She would take a moment to gather herself, shaking her head and wincing slightly. When she looked up, the stag rose his powerful head and snorted, ...
[21:16] <+Vera> ... as though mocking her, before taking off. A low growl would rip through Vera's entire form as she heard the mockery.

[21:21] * +Vera would push herself to her feet, taking only a moment to brush the dusted snow off of her slender form. She would feel around for any wounds, discovering only a few bruises and hurt pride. She sighed softly, glancing around for her fagger that she'd dropped on impact. Upon finding it, she would walk over to it and snatch it from the snow. "Mm.." She nodded to herself before making her way ...
[21:21] <+Vera> ... towards the direction in which the large animal had gone off to. She would resume her lower position, stalking through the trees until she saw him again. She would have to be careful this time since he would be more alert this time.

[21:24] * +Vera would stop behind a tree, eyes fluttering closed as she took a moment to prepare herself. She would inhale deeply, her chest rising with such a large intake of air. She would take a moment to adjust the grip of the dagger in her hand. It was cool from the snow, and wet. She would have to be careful. Silent, she would stalk towards him, though staying in the shadows. If she were to attack ...
[21:24] <+Vera> ... this time, she would be in and out before the animal knew which way to turn or run.

[21:26] <+Vera> When she was close enough, she would push off from the ground and run sprinting towards the animal. A quick jab and her dagger would sink into the Stag's shoulder like a hot knife into butter. The animal would cry out, adrenaline now pumping through both creatures involved in the fight. As the stag ran off powered by sheer will power, Vera would slip into the shadows once more, seeming to ...
[21:26] <+Vera> ... disappear. She would run along side the Stag, though hidden completely from the large animal's view. Perhaps she would take a new stratedgy to this all together.

[21:28] * +Vera would try to keep her breathing quiet and hidden from the stag, who's ears were just as good as it's predator's. A wicked grin would touch those luscious tiers as she watched the animal slow, a slight limp taking place of such sure footing. Perfect opportunity to most, and yet, she wouldn't take it. She would wait. The stag was panting, frightened, more alert and still high on adrenaline. ...
[21:28] <+Vera> ... She would wait for him to calm before trying to get another hit. She would not screw it up. Besides, she had all night.

[21:32] * +Vera would wait, watching the stag slowly lower his head, as though checking his wounds. Though the animal wouldn't cry out, also not wishing to give his position away. Although it didn't matter to Vera, because she knew where he was. Shivers rolled down her spine as she stalked through the shadows, readying her position. She would inhale deeply, tightening her grip on the dagger, trying to calm ...
[21:32] <+Vera> ... her excited nerves. It was going to be a good night.

[21:36] <+Vera> Again she would push off the ground, leaving a dust of snow behind her as she did so. She would keep herself low, knowing he would be alerted of her approach. He would rear his head up, making Vera switch plans halfway through. She would duck under him, his rack of horns narrowly missing her. She squeaked softly, though her dagger would be thrown back into his flank, easily sinking into his ...
[21:36] <+Vera> ... muscular form. Quickly pulling the dagger out, she would retreat to the shadows as he swung his horns wildly before, again, taking off.

[21:41] <+Vera> A gentle sigh would escape those luscious tiers, though this time she did not chase. She would wait. She could see the trail of not only his hoof marks, but the small specks of blood that littered the ground. And she could smell the fear. A soft frown tugged at the corners of her lips as she looked to the sky for a moment. "Please forgive me." She whispered, mostly to herself. It was hard, ...
[21:41] <+Vera> ... because, well, she had to eat too.

[21:45] * +Vera would slowly pick up her walking pace once more, walking towards where the stag had wandered off to. She would stick to the shadows as the stag came into view. Things were different this time. He had found a cliff, and had placed his back to it. And his headwas lowered as he waited for the one he knew was coming for her. His head lowered, horns ready, he was waiting for Vera. Shivers rolled ...
[21:45] <+Vera> ... down her spine as she took a moment to think out her game plan. She knew he would be much more ready to fight this time around.

[21:48] * +Vera would take off, flying forward towards the stag, though with her thoughts, she had not prepared herself, letting her focus slip. She fly towards him, and he took off towards her, horns lowered. She gasped as she caught the horns, though they went around her in such a way that they would simply pin her to the ground versus goring her. She gasped, falling back, looking up with wide eyes at the ...
[21:48] <+Vera> ... animal that now had the advantage. Funny how the tables could get turned around when it was a matter of life or death.

[21:57] * +Vera qould scoot backwards quickly, trying to avoid the sharp hooves that pounded the ground around her. She cried out in frustration before shoving the dagger in the thigh holder it belonged it. She would then reach forward, her hands wrapping around the horns as though she was going to try to wrestle with the large animal. She snarled, her lips pulling back over her teeth. She would snap them ...
[21:57] <+Vera> ... at the air, trying to fight the stag, hoping to win.

[22:00] * +Vera would shove the stag back, and retreat to the shadows. She would inhale deeply, pressing her back against teh cold bark of the tree. She needed a moment to herself, and well, the stag would only prepare himself again. She snarled, giving a warning sound, though as she did so, she would jog between trees, trying to throw him off. The way that he growl would vounce off of the nearby rocks and ...

[22:05] <+Vera> It would be enough to throw him off for her to go in for the kill. Quickly she would rush in, her eyes narrowed. "I'm sorry..." She whispered softly, pulling the dagger quickly from it's holster on her upper thigh. She would then shove the razor sharp object upwards, eyes closing for a momnet as the rack came closer and closer. Before a cry, and slack. She snarled and fell back, the animal ...
[22:05] <+Vera> ... falling atop her. She grumbled and rolled it off, pulling her dagger from it's form. She would then grab it's hind legs and drag it back to the blanket where Apollo stood by. She was panting by this time. "Maybe a couple more." She whispered, running her fingers along Apollo's nose as she dropped the dead stag. "I'll be back." She cooed to the horse.

[22:09] * +Vera would slowly stand up, taking a moment to lean against Apollo, trying to catch her breath. "Gods... I am exhausted." She laughed softly, looking towards the steed that would help to pull all of the kills home, with his owner walking by his side. She would listen, large ears flickering atop her head as she listened for anything, any sound that would give away any animal she would be willing ...
[22:09] <+Vera> ... to hunt. When she heard the soft clucks of a wilf turkey, she would perk. "This should be easy." She whispered to the horse before moving towards the sound.

[22:12] * +Vera would walks towards the small creature, tilting her head curiously as it came into view. It was small, but it was something. She blinked, glancing over the colors of the turkey. Perhaps she could pluck the creature, and sell the meat, keeping the feathers. Valene was good with feathers, perhaps she could make more pillows, or even a blanket, or matress if she got enough of them. She shifted, ...
[22:12] <+Vera> ... her mind lost on other things for the time being.

[22:15] <+Vera> When she was finally snapped from her reverries, Vera would blink a couple of times to refocus her eyes in the low lighting of the woods. True, for most it would be hard to hunt in such conditions; dark. Vulpines had great eyesight, and something as simple as darkness would not be something to stop her. Once again she would take to stalking the shadows towards her prey, waiting for the perfect ...

[22:19] <+Vera> It would be enough to calm her nerves and prepare her for the kill, because as she ran forward, the turkey wouldn't even notice her. She moved silently, listening to the soft clucks of the small wild bird. Before the bird knew what was happening, there were hands around it's neck. A quick snap and the bird would fall limp in her arms; dead. Quickly she would stand up, jogging back to Apollo and ...
[22:19] <+Vera> ... the blanket. She squealed in delight as she dropped it on the blanket. "Alright! I have to keep going..." She laughed excitedly, and well, it was as though Apollo understood, because he would whinny softly and nuzzle at her.

[22:26] * +Vera giggled softly, rubbing the nose of her steed, yawning slightly. "I am going to have to get you a friend. Maybe a bigger friend so I can ride you instead of walking home after a hunt." She laughed, thinking it would be good to have a much larger horse, and perhaps a cart. She then perked as she heard more soft clucks. She tilted her head slightly, slowing her pants as she tried to focus. ...
[22:26] <+Vera> ... Perhaps she had stumbled onto a small flock of them.

[22:28] * +Vera would slowly stalk towards them, wriggling her fingers towards her horse as she disappeared once more into the night. She would stand behind a nearby tree as she caught a glimpse of another small wild turkey. She wrinkled her nose, wishing the kill was bigger, though his feathers could possibly go towards those pillows or perhaps that blanket or mattress she wanted. She would clamp her mouth ...
[22:28] <+Vera> ... shut and keep her laugh to a soft snicker, as not to set of the slightly less than intelligent turkey.

[22:35] * +Vera swallowed the lump in her throat as she closed her eyes and focused herself. It seemed to be how she was getting most of her strikes and kills. She would inhale deeply, her chest rising with such a large intake of air around her. She would feel a gentle breeze blow by her and move to get away from the direction it would blow her scent. She would peek around the new tree she hid behind, ...
[22:35] <+Vera> ... glancing to see if the turkey had caught her scent. It had, and though it's head was raised and the clucks had changed, it didn't run. Vera almost face palmed at this. Gods some animals were stupid.

[22:40] * +Vera would move quickly, hoping to do the same thing she had done with the turkey the one right before. Though as soon as she blew her cover, the turkey would duck it's head and take off. Vera sighed and grumbled to herself, shaking her head. "Of course... They always WAIT to run." She sighed and would kick the snow, watching the ground for a moment. She didn't want to take a turkey back that had ...
[22:40] <+Vera> ... no head, so perhaps snapping the neck WAS the best idea. She would take a moment to think, taking a moment to plan.

[22:43] * +Vera would take a moment to enjoy her walk through the forest, the cold ground beneath her padded feet, the cool breeze blowing by her, the clear night. She silently thanked the Gods for no snow. It surely made things easier. She sighed and would keep a lookout for the stupid bird she was hunting. Silently she cursed it for running, through really, she couldn't blame it.

[22:49] * +Vera would blink, darting behind a tree as the turkey came into view. She would blink, peeking at it, surprised it didn't run. Again she found the want to facepalm. How in the hell was it that it wouldn't run that time, especially since she was sure it had seen her. She shook her head and would take a moment to not think about how stupid the animal was, and think about killing it.

[22:55] <+Vera> This time when she darted forward, she was sure to be hidden, sure to nor make a sound. She would slide up behind him, and by that time it would be too late. She would snap it's neck, holding it as it fell limp. She would lift the turkey in her arms as she rose to her feet and strode back to Apollo. "Maybe only a couple more. I seem to be on a roll." She smiled softly, those amethyst hues ...
[22:55] <+Vera> ... shimmering brightly as she spoke. She was obviously pretty proud of herself with four kills. She would place the turkey beside the other turkey and the huge baby piglet, the stag having a blanket of it's own being so big.

[22:58] * +Vera would sigh softly, leaning against her horse, waiitng for a moment as she panted. It was a good workout, especially for a fit vulpine. She was going to get ready to hunt once again, before her next hunt ran right in front of her. She blinked, ears flickering forward, nose lifting to the air. "A rabbit." She whispered, inhaling deeply as she glanced to Apollo. "This should be fun." She ...
[22:58] <+Vera> ... laughed softly, though she knew it would be anything but easy... Since the rabbit too, would be white.

[23:01] <+Vera> Slowly she would turn towards where she had seen the glimpse of the rabbit running. She would crouch low, looking for the tracks and specific characteristics as to be sure she wouldn't get it's tracks mixed with the many tracks that littlered the snow on the ground already. There was at least one perk to fresh snow when hunting; she tracks were easy to see, although you had to keep up with the ...
[23:01] <+Vera> ... prey, because that same snow would quickly cover the tracks.

[23:03] <+Vera> When the rabbit came into view, her pace would slow. Rabbits were easy and hard kills. It depended. They were quick, and because they were so small, they were always alert and waiting for something to come after them. That being said, they didn't take much to kill either. A quick snap of the neck, or a jab of the dagger... Though the dagger would wreck the pelt. She would debate the dagger, ...
[23:03] <+Vera> ... though decide against it. She would stalk through the trees, making sure to stay out of the breeze that would blow her scent towards the small creature, leaving the breeze to blow it's scent towards her. She would ready herself for either a chase, or a kill.

[23:11] * +Vera would slowly rise to a standing position once more. "Alright... Last one." She panted, a smile touching her luscious tiers as she cooed to her horse. "After this I think I might sleep like the dead." She laughed, her eyes lighting up as she spoke to the trusty steed. "You're the best, Apollo." She smiled softly, rubbing his nose and giving his forehead a kiss before moving to the forest for ...
[23:11] <+Vera> ... the last hunt of the evening.

[23:14] * +Vera would move through the trees once more, though this time she didn't hear anything, didn't see anything. She would smell it. She blinked, her nose lifting to the air to inhale sharply, taking in the scent. Her nose would twitch with such a scent, ears flicking curiously. "This time of year...?" She questioned in a soft whisper to herself. She took a moment to glance at the surroundings. ...
[23:14] <+Vera> ... Perhaps the blood had roused the massive creature from it's hibernation. Quickly she would conceal herself in the shadows, surely not wishing to give away her position to such a large opponant.

[23:17] <+Vera> When she saw the bear lumbering drowsily through the woods, she would plaster herself to a tree. She took a moment to observe the prey, noting it was a small bear. Though small, it was most definitely still going to put up a huge fight. Shivers rolled down her spine as she slowly pulled out her dagger, feeling the weight in her hand. [23:23] * +Vera would go to push off the tree she leaned against and head towards the bear, hoping to hunt it, and falling flat on her ass instead. She cursed the ice, hoping the bear didn't notice, but... Well... It had good hearing as well. [23:28] <+Vera> ... hardest to not leave with anything more than a couple cuts and bruises.

[23:30] <+Vera> This time as she darted out from behind the tree, she wouldn't hope to stab the dagger into the bear, but she would throw it with all her might. It would stick easily into his flank, though it wouldn't slow him down much. It angered him further. As he darted towards the trees she disappeared into, he would find himself looking for the vulpine that blended easily into her surroundings it seemed.

[23:31] * +Vera would take the moment of confusion of the bear lumbering around, to reach out and snatch her dagger from his flank, which would cause him to let out a loud growl. She squeaked and ducked behind a fallen log, ears drooping as not to give her away. She would take a moment, smiling gently to herself as the bear leaned over to inspect it's wounds. She would shift along the ground, listening to ...
[23:31] <+Vera> ... the footsteps of the large creature.

[23:33] <+Vera> The bear would stand up on his hind legs and take a moment to sniff around, nose twitching. Though it wouldn't remain standing in such a way for very long, the wound in his flank making him fall back to all fours soon enough. As he did, Vera would shift beneath the log and dart to another tree, making sure to stay away from the scents he would pick up. It would be hard to detect the woman when ...
[23:33] <+Vera> ... there was a patch of the forest that smelled only of blood because of the kills.

[23:36] * +Vera would push off of the ground and dart towards the bear, preparing her attack, though this one wouldn't be quite as successful. She would gasp as he seemed ready for this attack and would reach a large clawed paw outwards to take a swipe at her. She would jump back, though not before the claws would rip at her clothing and slightly at her flesh. This would cause her to fall back, eyes ...
[23:36] <+Vera> ... widening as she looked up at him.

[23:38] * +Vera 's were suddenly wild, the bear mirrored in those amethyst hues. "I liked this shirt! And OW!" She growled to him, her lips pulling back over her teeth as she took a moment to search for the dagger that she dropped, allowing it to be forgotten for now as a large paw came quickly down through the air towards her. She snarled and would roll out of the way, taking the moment to take off the ...
[23:38] <+Vera> ... ground, and grab her dagger along the way.

[23:41] * +Vera would take a moment to take cover in the shadows of the trees once more. She needed a moment to recompose herself. She winced and would glance down, assessing her wounds. She winced slightly, her fingers running along the minor cuts upon her stomach. She shifted slightly, her brows knitting slightly as she tried to get a game plan under way. She would lick her lips, weighing the dagger in ...
[23:41] <+Vera> ... her hand. She was ready for the next attempt.

[23:41] <@Desdaemona> Vera rolls for 1 dice at 10 sides per die: 6

[23:43] <+Vera> This attempt would be successful. She would race forward, undercutting the bear and stabbing it in the shoulder. Her dagger would sink deep and cause another loud yowl from the big opponant. She would shiver and slide out from beneath him to come to a stand behind him. The bear wobbled for a moment, though he wasn't giving up easily. A grin touched those luscious tiers. Good. She wanted a fight.

[23:47] * +Vera would be gone though as the bear turned to look for her. Again she would stalk through the trees, though hoping to throw the bear off by switching places constantly. She tried to keep her breathing under control, not wanting that to be the one thing to give the much smaller vulpine away. She would swallow the lump in her throat, trying to keep her excitement down until the hunt was finished. ...
[23:47] <+Vera> ... If she got too excited, she would lose focus, and that would impair her ability to fight, to hunt, to win.

[23:50] * +Vera would peek around the tree, eyeing up the bear and taking a moment to guage it's state. Confused. It was ready to fight, though trembling with the effort to remain standing. She watched the bear search for her, raising it's nose, hoping she would come out, hoping she would be the one to die. Shivers rolled down her spine as she sensed such things, though she couldn't blame the creature. She ...
[23:50] <+Vera> ... would wait, guaging the right time.

[23:50] <+Vera> !r 1d10
[23:50] <@Desdaemona> Vera rolls for 1 dice at 10 sides per die: 4

[23:52] <+Vera> Too caught up in her thoughts, this one would be a failure. Quickly pushing off the tree, she would run towards the bear, hoping to perhaps catch it off guard, making her last strike, making this the strike to kill. And yet.. That's exactly what she wouldn't do. As she was running, she would realize her mistake, realize her errors and just where she went wrong. Silently cursing herself, she was ...
[23:52] <+Vera> ... too close to correct her ways.

[23:54] * +Vera realized while she was thinking out her game plan, that was exactly what the bear was doing. He was ready, standing in waiting for her to make the mistake in rushing towards him prematurely. She would still try to shove the dagger up, hoping to catch it while she slide beneath it, and yet, the sharp weapon only seemed to get caught in the matt of hair, doing nothing but cutting a chunk of ...
[23:54] <+Vera> ... hair off of the bear. And though this would not anger him, if he was worried about how he looked, he would be angry that he now had an almost bald patch on his chest.

[23:57] <+Vera> Quickly she would attempt to pull the dagger back, the weapon twirling awkwardly within her fingers. Careful not to drop it, she would coil her fingers more tightly around it. She then inhaled sharply as teeth came down to snap at the air near her head. Her eyes would widen as she cried out quietly. "Gods! My ears." She gasped, quickly diving away from the bear, scampering behind a large rock. ...
[23:57] <+Vera> ... She knew the bear knew where she was, but she needed a moment breather, and so did the bear.

[00:01] <+Vera> And that would be the downfall of the bear, the fact that he was getting tired of fighting, especially with two wounds. This time when she ran forward towards the bear to give it a quick kill,. she would be successful. He would raise a heavy paw, though it would fall limp beside Vera's head as her dagger was shoved neatly up into his heart, the bald spot acting like a target. She would grab her ...
[00:01] <+Vera> ... dagger from the bear and roll quickly out of the way as to not be crushed by the small bear falling on the smaller vulpine.

[00:06] * +Vera would pant, taking a moment to catch her breath. Slowly she would rise to her feet, grabbing his hind legs and hauling him towards Apollo. Finally when she got the bear to Apollo, she would lean heavily against her horse. "Gods... I am done for the night." She laughed softly, nuzzling against Apollo's neck. She would wrap up all of her kills in the blankets, before tieing them up with ropes. ...
[00:06] <+Vera> ... She would then fasten the ropes in such a way around the horse that he could pull them. She inhaled deeply and would walk with Apollo towards home as he hauled the kills. Tonight before she could rest, she would prepare the kills for the bazaar. It had been a good night of hunting.

06[23:57] * +Vera would walk through the forest, though this time in a much different manner than she normally did. Sure, she wore her robes and her white fur cloak, but they were easy to move in, which made things a tad less difficult and frustrating. She shifted slightly, glancing up at her mate that was walking beside her, a smile touching her lips. Amethyst hues shimmered in the low lighting,

[23:57] <+Vera> tresses bouncing around her features. Apollo would be not too far behind her, following his two masters, ready to aid within anything they might need. "Chilly, but beautiful night, hm my Love?"
Session Time: Fri Jan 07 00:00:01 2011

06[00:01] * +Cole seemed to blend into the surroundings. There ...
01[00:01] <+Cole> ... was a curious gleam in his eyes as he watched her, admiring her form in the moon light. "So why the sudden interest in hunting dear?" he asked with a lofted brow.
06[00:10] * +Vera smiled brightly as she looked over her lover, inhaling deeply and just enjoying the moments with him. She then shrugged at his questions, her tongue ghosting her lips. "Well... I would like to perhaps get a rug, and maybe we will get something if we hunt?" She giggled softly, tilting her head and glancing to the path they walked along. She would then pause, glancing at the tracks
06[00:10] * +Vera that.
[00:10] <+Vera> suddenly appeared off to the side. She would lift her nose, the end of it twitching slightly as she inhaled deeply, taking in the scent of the night's air and the apparent animals within it. She would glance to Cole and grin wickedly. "Well, Love. Looks like I found dinner, hm?" She cooed softly to him, not loud enough to scar anything away in case they were closer than she
[00:10] <+Vera> 14 thought.
01[00:19] <+Cole> The pair was well of the beaten path now. It was quiet out, peacefull. Only the crouch of snow beneath their feet breaking the silence. The blond haired man gave his mate a nod. "I'll see if I can't find my own.." He said wanting to test his own skills. Trained as a mage, but wanting to bring the brute strenth that he was born with, Cole looked forwards to trying to find a bit of game. "I think ...
01[00:19] <+Cole> ...
04[00:24] * +Vera knew that she couldn't take the pheasant for dinner in order to get the mhl for it, so she would take it and sell it at the bazaar. Ears twitched as she heard Cole's words, a grin touching those luscious tiers. "Alright! This is going to be fun. Let's put a wager on it. Whoever's game is bigger, gets to get the other to do whatever they want for a night." She winked, leaning up to
06[00:24] * +Vera kiss
[00:24] <+Vera> the corners of his lips before centering the kiss and then leaning back. "Meet back where it's safe, Love." She whispered, nodding slightly as she went off in the direction of the small bird. She would crouch low to the ground, inhaling sharply, trying to pick up the scent. Although she heard it first, eyes widening. She would mouth the words 'holy shit, that's close!', but she
[00:24] <+Vera dare not
[00:24] <+Vera> anything in fear of it taking off. She would quickly grab her dagger, take aim and throw it. If she hit right, hopefully it would kill the thing and they would get some money for it, but if not... She would have to chase it, because it would for sure scare the thing off.
[00:34] <+Cole> Vera's words had left a smile upon Coles face. The firey woman had a way of warming him on the coldest of nights just by smiling at him. It was that thought that echoed in his mind as he stalked further into the woods. A breeze catching in the air and blowing snow off the higher branches. There was movement all around him, but no more then tricks to the eyes. His hears perked up. The torian ...
01[00:34] <+Cole> ... stilled. Something was right now. He was being watched. The mage turned about intime to see the giant paw of the beast swing down at him and lept to the side. Wings unfolding behind him and beating once to help give him an extra few feet. The bark on the tree where he was standing errupted into a cloud of splinters. "Fuck!" he growled. This was no tower of magic. The lessons to be learned here ...
01[00:34] <+Cole> ... were far more deadly ones. It roared back at him. A snarl echoing into the night as fog billowed from it's jagged maw. He was sure there were bigger bears, but this one was large enough for the torian. The mage launched himself at the creacher, trying to jab his dagger into the beasts throat. ...

01[00:44] <+Cole> The dagger mearly skatted over the thick mat of fur. It didn't even scrach the ursine. The torian lept back as the beast lashed out against him with it's claws, tearing the mage's robe and grazing his flesh. Cole winced as he landed. His first real fight in a long time. A gleam came into his eyes as he felt the tickle of blood flowing down his chest. He was going to kill this beast or it was ...
01[00:44] <+Cole> ... going to kill him.
01[00:49] <+Cole> The man lept back from the bears charge. It truely was throwing it's weight around and the bastard was fast! No sooner did the torian regain his footing then he had to jump out of the way againt. He knew something would snap if that paw connected with him. The thick branches overhead closeing off his avenue of escape. Coles mind whirled to try and find an advantage as he was steadly pushed back.
01[00:52] <+Cole> Perhaps if he could land a sleep spell on the creature? It would give him the opening he needed to aim a killing blow, not to mention give his quickly tiring body a rest. Deep blue eyes narrowed. The beauty of magic was that he could place that spell anywhere on the creature. He twisted his satnce and pushed forwards, leaping towards the bear as it charged him, seeking to try and press the spell ...

01[00:56] <+Cole> The cool blue hue of magic being worked crackled between his splayed fingers. He held it as air ran over his wings. Time slowed in that moment it seemed as his palm pressed agaisnt the bears ribs and fingers dragged through it's fur. It was a wild launch and Cole knew that his landing wouldn't be a pretty one, but as the tention of the magic was released into the creature it's eyes drooped and ...
01[00:56] <+Cole> ... collapsed to the ground. The torian soon followed, plowing into the snow upon his landing. He rested there a moment to catch his breath before getting up to his feet.
01[00:59] <+Cole> The fair haired man flicked his head to one side, freeing his sight from a loose strand of his golden hair. Slowly he crept up on the slumbering giant. The spell it was under was tenious at best after all. He took his dagger out once more and knelt down beside the beasts head. Cole wanted a clean, quick kill, but paused a moment here. It was a majestic thing, for a moment he thought about ...
01[00:59] <+Cole> ... letting the creature live on for another day. It didn't seem right to take it's life when it was so defenseless.
06[01:07] * +Cole took a moment and calmed himself. It was life. The strong survived and the weak perished. He took the dagger in both his hands and raised it up. One clean blow into the beasts upturned eye should do it. Drive the pointed edge of steel into it's brain and it'd be over. Cole intended to sell it's meat after all so others in town could eat. Sell it's hide so that others could stay warm. No, it ...
01[01:07] <+Cole> ... was time for this noble creature to give it's life for others. Cole's powerful arms flexed as he brought the weapon down hoping to end this quickly.

01[01:16] <+Cole> The blade sank home. The bear let out a ear shattering cry of pain as it reared up and knocked Cole back like he was no more then a rag doll. His wings flaired out to either sid of him, an instictual habit to try and right himself in the air. A loud snap as his right collided with a branch. "Fuuuuck!" he winced as the limb wend numb. He could move it, he didn't think it was broken at least but ...
01[01:16] <+Cole> ... flight was no longer an option for the torian. The bear raoars went on as Cole found his footing once more. "Just fucking die!" he growled as he only now realised he'd left his dagger in the things eyesocket.
01[01:20] <+Cole> There was death in the air and blood on the ground. Despite his Warmth spell cole could feel the wind blowing against his flesh from where the bear had torn it. He slowly begain to circle it, electricity crackling between his fingers as he readied a spell. The bright white sparks between his fingers casting shadows wildly in the night. It's crys stopped as it's huffed out hot breath and snarled ...
01[01:20] <+Cole> ... at him beginning it's charge.
01[01:24] <+Cole> His eyes darted to the side. The loss of his wing had crippled the torian's mobility so he sought to use the enviorment to his advantage. The mage swung around a tree hopeing that it would at least slow the beasts charge. The solid weight of muscle and bone soon cracked against it as dagger like teeth lashed at his arm. The mage was able to dodge, this time at least and swung about to bring his ...

01[01:27] <+Cole> And yet the bear didn't die. Tonight the stubbern thing clung to life even as it bled from him. A meaty paw crashed down against him, streading his robe once more as claws dug into his skin. Cole's cry was wrenched out from his lungs as he stuggled not to loose conscianceness. Breathing heavily now as the adrienlilene begain to wear off. He knew that if this wasn't ended soon things wouldn't go ...
01[01:27] <+Cole> ... well for him.
01[01:32] <+Cole> The bear's black fur moved like death itself as it lunged for him once more. Missing him by inches as he pulled to the side. It's fetied stale breath burning in Coles nose. He was running out of ideas and growing weaker as his wounds only mounted. Once more the mage found himself trying to think his way out. But that was the lesson of the wilds. There were times when thought and preperation were ...
01[01:32] <+Cole> ... no good, times where only brute strenth would do. He raced to the side and found a sturdy looking branch that had fallen in the snow. One pont sharped from where it'd broken from the tree under the weight of snow. It was far from a real spear, but it'd have to do.
01[01:36] <+Cole> Predictablility could be manipualted after all. He angled the brance agianst the ground, holding it's base in place with his foot. It could charge him, but then it'd drive the stake deep into itself in doing so. The glow of magic once again crackling in his hand as he waited for it to come. It wasn't long. Slipping upon the snow it turned at him and charged. Coles heart raced as he tried to ...
01[01:36] <+Cole> ... focus, tried to fight off the fuzzines that had found it's way into his thoughts.

01[01:40] <+Cole> It snapped the branch easily. It barely slowed down even though to point had struck and sank in deep. The torian was able to close in this time, moving past it's crushing blow to grab a fist of fur and hoist his way up onto it's back. He huged on tightly, seeking to keep out of reach of it's teeth and claws a moment longer.
01[01:42] <+Cole> "This.. might have been a bad idea.." he gasped as the thing reared up. It was going to throw itself on it's back, effectively crushing him. In a moment of desperation Cole reached out to pull his dagger free of it's eye and rolled off. Not a moment too soon either. They both were growing more sluggish. Bloodloss and exahstion taking their toll.
06[01:49] * +Cole gripped tightly upon the blood slickened handle of his dagger. It's worn wooden handle a comfort of sorts to him. That and thoughts of his mate, that lasting smile she'd given him moments before they parted. Odd he thought to himself that he didn't feel fear. If he did taste death, if he was taken never to return again, Cole knew that he'd lived a good life. He smiled back at the creature ...
01[01:49] <+Cole> ... now counting it a brother in this dance of death. "One of us will find our peace this night friend," he said eyes gleaming with bloodlust. Not caring for his personal saftey, the torian charged the beast dircetly seeking to lance it's other eye with his blade.

01[02:01] <+Cole> The strike went wide, and Cole kept towards it's blind side as they fought against one another. Constantly circling and dancing as flecks of blood fell upon the pure white snow. The torian finding a thrill in this, a purpose that hadn't been there in his life before as his large form was worked to it's limit, lungs burning for air and pushing out a dense fog that rose into the night. No more ...
01[02:01] <+Cole> ... time, no energy for words, everything was moving in fluid unison as they dance. The gleem of metal and the flash of teeth in the night.
01[02:04] <+Cole> There was little doubut that they were evenly matched. The sheer animalistic rage of the beast fueling it past the point of any man, and Cole's cunning, that early blow he landed slowly ebbing away it's life. The hand of fate would find one of them this night Cole knew. The time of a quick clean kill was over. It was now a fight for survival.
01[02:07] <+Cole> His lungs burned for air, his body sore, pain lancing into his body down his wing and red ribbons scratched into his solid chest. He looked to be a beaten man. All but his eyes. Those glowed with an intensity never seen before in the man. Two bright blue flames that sought to consume that which stood before him. In a moment of clarity the mage called a spell into being before him, pushing the ...

01[02:10] <+Cole> The bear slowed down as well. It's movements no longer as fast, as agile as before. The chill of death creeping into is one good eye. Cole pulled back from the beast and it did not follow. Instead taking a moment to itself to recover as well. Tension in the air. An understanding between the two in this moment. The more time between them, the more Cole found himself liking the creature.
01[02:13] <+Cole> Such a thing was impossible of course. It was no 'pet'. It wouldn't survived in the wilds with the wound that had been given it. There was only one thing for it; the peace of death. Yet the drama of life played on. Cole couldn't blame it for its struggles. It was what had earned it his respect. "Come then," he gasped. "Let us write a story of this night, of your valor so that others may know ...
01[02:13] <+Cole> ... what it is to be alive," he told the mighty creature as his breath came to him once more.
06[02:17] * +Cole charged at it with a spell crackling away in one hand and his blade in the other. A deadly assault brought upon it as he closed in, always moving, always keeping to its blind side to save himself the worst of its blows. He was starting to gain an edge. His wounds were superficial after all. Cole moved to sink his dagger into the base of the bears skull, hoping to sever the spine and still the ...

04[02:25] * +Vera would look up from her seat within the snow, a smile touching those luscious tiers. Slowly she would push herself to her feat and tilt her head, ears twitching as she listened. 06[02:31] * +Cole nodded at Vera. "I'm.. fine.. " he said smiling up at her. His hand running over the bears head as if it were an old friend of his. The torian looked to be a complete mess. The shallow cuts in his chest staining his robe crimson. His feathers flecked with blood here and there. His chest visible in places from the tears in his robe and dozens of burses on his arms. Yet his eyes smiled back ...
01[02:31] <+Cole> ... vibrantly at Vera. "I think.. I’m just going to rest a moment love while you bring the horse back for this. He fought well..." He said looking down at it once again. "And I'm glad that he'll be put to good use, what did you find anyways love?" Cole asked her looking her over for cuts and scrapes.
06[02:38] * +Vera nodded and offered a smile before extending a hand to the man to offer to help him up. She frowned as she scanned him, though they were small cuts, nothing a good bath and some time couldn't heal. "I need to get you home. We need to have a shower, my Love... And then I will get you dirty in a lot of other ways." She giggled and then, before nodding to his words, dropping his arms.
06[02:38] * +Vera She
[02:38] <+Vera> frowned and would kneel in the snow beside him, brushing hair away from his blood stained face. "I just hope you're alright. A little rest, a bath, and a meal when we get home should get you all cleaned up. I will have it ready and waiting." She whispered, placing a kiss to his lips where there was no blood. She then smiled brightly. "A small pheasant and a fair sized wild boar."
[02:38] <+Vera> She nodded and
[02:38] <+Vera> would lean back, allowing him to look her over. She would
[02:38] <+Vera> then run, grab
04[02:38] <+Vera> the horse and the dead animals, hooking them up in such a way that Apollo could drag them through the snow, but not in a way it would ruin any of their pelts. Returning to Cole, she would say goodbye and give him one more kiss. "See you at home, Love." She cooed before disappearing.

I am deleting the post on rolling for hunting logs.

Too many individuals are killing massive amounts of animals in a very short period of time. It should not take under an hour to kill three large game, rather I'd expect more of 3 hours for 1 large game, or 1 hour for three small kills.

Payouts are done based on time, effort and skill grade; not if you bring in massive amounts of deer you chucked under forty minutes.

Thanks!

Name: Samson Artimus
Date & Time: 1-24-11 5:50 to 6:50
Tasks Complete: built figure four trap [rabbit cought], built noose snair: Phesant caught, Stalked down fawn 'killed'
Paid: ??? not yet ???

1[15:54] <+Samson_Artimus> +Samson_Artimus would of decided to let his dogs rest this hunt. Why? he wanted to hunt smaller game this day for the thrill of it. Instantly he was moving through the woods and looking around small shrubs and the like. Any thing where small game trails might be found. At a moment he would be nice. As he noticed a single game trail he would move around, following it lighlty under foot untill he <14next2>
01[15:54] <+Samson_Artimus> <14more1> could find a <14next2> <4end1>
01[15:54] <+Samson_Artimus> <+Samson_Artimus> <14more1> nice place to set a figure four deadfall trap. <4end1>
01[15:54] <+Samson_Artimus> [origionally started at 5:50
06[15:59] * +Samson_Artimus would travle the area a short distance before finding a natural funnel for his trap. There was plenty enough space for a large log or stone as well as plenty of shrugs, and greenery to keep them on the trail and make it less tempting to move off of. From there he would just begin to start looking around. Finding a nearby tree he would hack a ringfinger sized branch off the tree with decent <14next2>
01[15:59] <+Samson_Artimus> <14more1> length. That done he began looking a good ways away from the trap for something to use as a deadfall. <4end1>
06[16:15] * +Samson_Artimus would soon find long 25 pound boulder from a river bed, grounded out with a decent weight all around. This would be perfect for the small game he was going after. Soon he moved to thie spot once more and began to work. First cutting the branch in three places. Two longer ones and one shorter one. From there he cut a notch in the longes tone just where the bait stick would be placed. The two <14next2>
01[16:15] <+Samson_Artimus> <14more1> points of the smallest one sharpened so they could mesh with the other two sticks. Finally the last stick was made with a notch, sharpene din and flat peice forthe bat. A little bit of fruit he got from the lonely inn was stuck on that flattened portion. It was there he lifted the rock and assembled the trap right in the middle of the trail. The bait under the rick as far back as it could reach <14next2>
01[16:15] <+Samson_Artimus> <14more1> reasonobly for the animal to still get the bait. From there the sensative trap was left alone, moving farther down the trail to try and find another good place to set a trap. <14more1>
06[16:23] * +Samson_Artimus would soon notice another game trail along the way, though this time it seemed more like a fowl of some sort. He had a nice little hole dug out from where he had been pecking for leaves to! Soon he was already forming another idea. Taking some old vine, and of course making sure it wasnt poison ivy or poison oke, he would begin chewing on it, giving it back a bit of its flexibility and <14next2>
01[16:23] <+Samson_Artimus> <14more1> moisture to streangthen it. A cheep 'poor mans' cordage for the noose he was bout to make. There was a flexible green sapling nearby which did perfectly. Bending the sapling over he would tie one end in a weave between branch's. The next he would tie a noose and put it along the hole. Form there Taking the two little twigs he placeda trip wire over the area where the bird could walk. That <14next2>
01[16:23] <+Samson_Artimus> <14more1> covered the back and front. He quickly moved to blockade the area with the sooon to be baited trap with debree and snow mounds to make it easier to corral the bird inside the area. This done he would put another smal peice of fruit inside the hole, spreading out the noose to just cover the small area. If the head wouldnt get caught at least a foot could possibly be caught. From there he was on <14next2>
01[16:23] <+Samson_Artimus> <14more1> the move again. <14more1>
6[16:50] * +Samson_Artimus would soon move be hiking near the game trail again, the faiding light making it harder for him to see and thus he would begin to move with a bit of urgency.. The first signs of a sucsessfull. There was the sounds of feathers being beaten by the trap he used a snair on. Soon moving to find a fat phesant trying to get away with its legs caught. Setting the deer down he wou ld move to grab the <14next2>
01[16:50] <+Samson_Artimus> <14more1> bird by tracing the line to the snair, grip the head, then the neck and give a quick twist. Snapping the neck he just moved to the fawn and started to carry both to the last trap, already considering himself having a good haul for what he had done today <4end1>
06[16:53] * +Samson_Artimus would see the trap activated. The rock down atop the head of a brown, decent sized rabit! Well now that was three. Soon moving to kick over the rock to grab the rabit and head on home. He wasnt going to leave reset the traps. He didnt knwo when he would be out here again and he didnt want to waist the meat of an animal
01[16:53] <+Samson_Artimus> [log end]

Postby Dietrich on Mon Apr 11, 2011 7:40 pm

Name: Dietrich
Date and Time: 04/11/2011 : Started 13:14 CST, Ended 14:36 CST (1 hour and 22 minute duration)
Tasks completed: Boar, killed
Paid?: No
Log:
1[13:14] <+Dietrich> 6 The sun was burning high above him, yet amid the shadows of dancing leaves and moist air it was difficult to feel anything save for a small chill from a wayward breeze. He was alone now, far beyond the bustle of the city and even those errant few that would occasionally find their way to the thicket. In another time he might have taken part in the reverie for a midday nap before the next spring deluge, but what had initially taken the hunter from his comfortable nook was the smell of wet fur. It found him now crouching upon the forest floor, leather leggings crumpled at his hips while he bent a single knee into the soil. His hair was unkempt and fell across his brow in a thin veil, offering little in the way of detail to his face, even if it would have been obscured regardless by his focus upon the faint imprints. He already well knew what his game was by the destruction of the surrounding brush, though by its weight he could gauge the girth of this boar and the danger in following its trail.
01[13:19] <+Dietrich> 6 Dietrich arched his neck and let his gaze roam over the jagged horizon, already jaded by new spring growth; snapped branches and disturbed undergrowth were not a sign enough on their own. His callused fingertips found a path across the depression created by the track. Not a full inch into the matted earth, then tested the resistance by his own pressure. Perhaps a hundred and twenty pounds; a grown adult looking to rut perhaps, though he would have preferred a sow. The hunter began in his stalk, knees bent to distribute his weight and diminish his own wake if any where to follow. At times his heels turned to irregular angles merely to create a track leading a half step away, only to turn again back toward his prey. It had cut a tremendous swath, trailing it would not even test his mettle and yet it was not the deliberate effort of the hunt that held the greatest appeal for the savage man.
01[13:29] <+Dietrich> 6 In fact, it was the promise of true danger at the culmination of this encounter that made his heart beat and adrenaline burn through his veins like acid. Dietrich found his mouth dry and eyes alert, drawing in longer breaths to steady nerves that might have otherwise been driven to panicked gasps. The hunter paused for a moment where a particular bush had been ripped from the earth, its roots gnawed upon by the voracious creature. It gave him precious information, in the way that teeth had been printed into the tuber. It was gouged in wide spaces, where tusks had gripped down as molars ripped at what nutrients the hungry beast could extract. Lastly it was raised to his nostrils, taking a long breath to scent what foul odors the boar had left; nothing that smelled of rot, or the more subtle undertones of disease. Dietrich rose again, core flexing as he stooped through a halo of low hanging branches and their budding leaves, careful to not even disturb a twig.
01[13:36] <+Dietrich> 6 It did not take him long to hear the particular guttural snarls of the animal as it ripped through the brush to slake its voracious appetite. It was not a stealthy creature and perhaps more satisfactory, it was not a pack beast. Dietrich gave pause only long enough to listen for the tell-tale higher pitched squealing of something younger. There was nothing more than the crack of upraised branches, tossed stone and the occasional wet noise when it found a wriggling grub. The hunter raised his chin and his glassy emerald gaze combed over the netting of still barren branches. For a moment he wet his lips, then gave one sharp nod before turning to begin climbing over the short few hand holds he could take up while he managed his way into a superior position.
01[13:45] <+Dietrich> 6 It was not for some planned aerial assault upon the creature, if anything the hunter brought himself into a superior elevation just so that his scent was not so easily carried down to the prey beneath him. As he stepped one foot precariously in front of the other some of the weaker, fledgling branches groaned, yet their fresh green gave rather than snapped. Beneath him the foraging beast was too preoccupied in its meal that it did not even raise its brow for what could be merely birds above it. For a moment, Dietrich merely relished in having this avian view of the prey before he set off a few feet further ahead of the creature before reversing his climb and then dropping back to his heels with far less grace than he had managed in ascending. Behind him now, the boar still did not mind itself more than its pawing tusks that had found a fallen log to start tearing into for a few small grubs. Too young yet to be a gorging meal.
01[13:53] <+Dietrich> 6 Even from this distance its yellow stained maw was readily apparent, even more so with the tusks that still carried bits of rotted flesh upon them or whatever other debris that the hunter could imagine to be ragged flesh. Rather than wait about he turned quickly to the nearest new branch that had begun to grow again in Spring. He raised a forearm to coil the neck of it around his limb, using it as a brace to give it a taunt knot. It was a simple snare, one that was ready to snap back and tighten the noose as he flexed his core to draw it down into a bend. He groaned through the effort, abdominal wall pressing up against his skin while a knee bent to bring it to the ground. Dietrich held it in place then as he sought out a simple stick bracing; it used leverage to counteract the force that was desperate to wrench away.
01[14:02] <+Dietrich> 6 The snare was set, though he doubted it would hold long again the powerful creature; if anything it would set the beast into a frenzy of fear to merely yank its limb free. If he was lucky it would hook around the creatures neck and the force of the snap would crush a few vertebra. Dietrich wasn't so certain that the yoke would be wide enough to hook into its throat; too wide and it would miss a leg, too narrow and it could just flick briefly against its maw only to be torn against the tusk. Dietrich settled for the safer approach, narrow. Lastly for bait, the easiest part, he bent knee against the flank of a tree that he jerked his torso against to upend a tuber. Something tasty that the foraging creature would be obligated to nibble into.
01[14:13] <+Dietrich> 6 Now it was merely a question of waiting. Of hoping that the creature would come into the snare. The natural contours of the terrain should funnel it closer, however there was no guarantee in the hunt. It could turn at the last minute, or perhaps merely find itself distracted or spooked by his scent or that of another creature. Dietrich paid close attention to the direction of the wind, moving to crouch down amid particularly minty brush that would help mask his musk. It was waiting that was the most common part of any hunt, the most tedious and similarly the thing that often lead to mistakes. A bored hunter made mistakes, they relaxed their guard or offered just a moment of reprieve. Instead, Dietrich used the opportunity to mark his place, to note the features that lead to the easiest escape, or the most opportune advantages if something became violent. After a moment, the sound of the boar drew a little closer.
01[14:22] <+Dietrich> 6 Moment by moment the rustling, snarling became louder; its feasting cacophony echoed louder as it advanced. The boar, with its broad shoulders and wide brow, came closer. It lowered its shoulders toward the tuber that had been so carefully torn out just for it. Any sentient beast would have recognized the trap, instead however it merely took a step forward. One hoof hit the small branch. There was a crack, a distinct whipping noise as the branch snapped back and with it tightening the snare around the front limb of the animal. Almost abruptly all the rutting and snarling noises it made while browsing for food were eclipsed by its panicked shrieks and squealing. Front leg captured, it jerked wildly against the trapping simply to free itself. Dietrich did not bother to wait to see if it would manage to work itself free; he lept out of the brush toward the struggling beast.
01[14:30] <+Dietrich> 6 He did not waste time, he did not play some fierce game with the enraged animal; instead he drew a stone flint knife from his belt. Dietrich twisted at the hip to use the leverage of his hip and thigh to plunge it into the throat of the animal. It was not clean, but the heart of it was not available under its taunt breast bone. There was a sharp peeling squeal of agony from the animal as it thrashed and bucked, jugular exposed and the red spray that showered over the few feet around it. The hunter took several steps in retreat, then once again did as so many of his kind do. He waited. It did not take long for that struggling animal to begin to quiet. Its wobbly limbs finally relaxing against the snare, then buckling beneath it to collapse against the earth. Breathing slowed. Until finally it stopped entirely. Dietrich let his eyes close and tilted his head up, drawing in a long breath of relief. It was not the end. The dangerous part might be over, but the hard part had just begun.
01[14:36] <+Dietrich> 6 Using the same knife that had struck the killing blow, Dietrich used that same weapon to carefully excise the abdomen of the creature. Deliberately opening its core until he could gut the boar, careful not to pierce the organs that could cause irreparable harm to the precious meat. Having put the intestines and stomach aside, he began to separate the meat from the hide. It paid better to sell apart, though as whole as possible. Who knows what the city dwellers would have use for and in what manner. All the better, he thought, the stench of this kill would draw more predators that he did not want to have wrapped up around him.
