Selling Weapons and Armour

Make sure to check the site on what races, class, and STR restrictions a player might have before purchasing items from the MMR. For instance, Miyuka has 3 str and therefore cannot equip a buckler in combat because the STR requirement is 6. Make sure if such a discrepancy is found that the player is informed at least OOCly through a PM. to help facilitate this process, you can do an !stats command in PM with des in order to see a players stats as well as if they have a strength bonus:

!stats James Vodera
<Desdaemona> Character 'James Vodera' (level 56 Thief/Fire Magex5) stats: Str 36 Int 100 Agi 100 Res 100 Stam 101 Life 45

James here has 35 str with no bonus, so he is ok to equip things that require 36 or more strength so long as his class allows it.

!stats Diego Redmane
<Desdaemona> Character 'Diego Redmane' (level 1 Warrior) stats: Str 10 (15) Int 2 Agi 2 Res 4 Stam 11 Life 10

Diego has 10 strength, but as a wolven he has a bonus to equipping items so when it comes to this he has 15 strength to determine what he can equip this is noted by the number in parentheses.

The !itemlist command and the !itemStat commands

Someone wishes to purchase a long sword but you don't know the code for it:
!itemlist long (Note that this is done in PM with des, not done in channel)
you could type in the entire weapon but des picks up partials as well

!itemlist long
-Desdaemona- Matching equipment to 'long':
-Desdaemona- 43:long sword, 50:long bow, 63:composite long bow, 128:mithril long sword, 55:lance

As you can see she lists everything that has long in it. long sword is item number 43

The !itemstat command is used to show the description of a weapon once you know it's database code. Take note that you can also get this information by going to the weapons and armour portion of the website. Just as with the !itemlist command, this is done in PM with Desdaemona:

!itemstat 43
-Desdaemona- Item 43 'long sword': type Weapon, ATK value 3, price 60.00, slots 1, uses 0, level 1 strength 6 class B.
-Desdaemona- Description :

Note that there is a portion for description but no text beyond that. There is no description in the database for long sword beyond the values for it.

You are now ready to sell the item to the player. Hopefully the player has the money on hand, otherwise they will have to go visit the bank and get their money.

The !itemsell command is how you sell items from the MMR to players. This command is done in channel.
The proper syntax is: !itemsell (name of the person as it appears in the nicklist) (item code) (##mhl)

Using the above example with the long sword, the command would look just like this:

!itemsell Amara{Twrl} 43 60mhl
<Desdaemona> -- Selling 'long sword' to Amara for 60 Mhl and 0 Copper

Item Exchange and the !item destroy command

Returned items are exchanged for half of the original value. The long sword which is originally 60 mhl can be exchanged for 30 mhl. If the weapon is enchanted, the exchange rate for the enchant is added in at full price. So if someone was exchanging a long sword that had been enchanted with +1 atk it would be 100 mhl for the enchant and 30 for the long sword exchange rate for a total of 130 mhl. Once the weapon has been sold, make sure the player destroys it using the !item destroy command. This command is done in PM with Desdaemona and the syntax is !item destroy (name of item as it shows in the database):

!item destroy long sword
-Desdaemona- Destroying item 'long sword'

When an item is exchanged then the halved value is simply subtracted from the players' total sum of what he or she is purchasing. For instance if they were purchasing half plate (500 mhl) while exchanging their long sword (30 mhl exchange rate) then the price for the halfplate would be 470 mhl

If the player just wishes to sell the weapon then a !payout must be issued. This can be done either by a manger, an assistant manager, or an OP.

Weapon and Armour Modifications

Modifications are simply used to make your average everyday weapon or piece of armour look different than the standard versions sold at the store. This is not to be confused with Enchanting, which is not done at the Might Makes right. Modification at the MMR includes enameling, weapon and armour dye, and engravings.

The price for modifications can be found at: http://belariath.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=220&t=16210

Adding a modification increases the price of the weapon or armour based off what all is being done. This also adds a waiting period for when the item can be picked up. The player can either choose to pay for the weapon and modifications up front, or they can wait until the day the weapon is ready and pay the store at that time.

In example, the long sword is normally 60 mhl. With Enameling of a single color (3 mhl) the price is now 63 Mhl. IF the buyer wishes to add more colors then the multi colors enamling option is used (8mhl) so the price would then be 68 mhl. This is because the option for multiple colors for a bladed weapon is an addition of 8 mhl, regardless of how many colors beyond the first is wanted.

Now that the modification has been choosen, the chart lists (at the bottom) how long it takes for the work to be completed. In our example, the long sword with multiple color enamling is one day per color used. So if just one color then the sword will be ready by the next day.

When a player gets a modification the store employee must make note of it under the MMR section on the Message Board: http://belariath.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=263. When the order is complete, the shop employee who completes the order at the time should annotate in this thread that the order has been picked up.

Repairs
Something that may not come up often, but should be noted for the purpose of RP opportunities. A player may bring his or her weapon or armour in for repair purposes. This can include, buffing out dents, fixing chips in weapons, applying weapon oil, sharpening, patching up leather and much more. It's really up to the player and, again, just for RP purposes.
When it comes to payment, this can cost anywhere between 1-5 meherials per item depending on the size. The time it takes to complete such should take no more than 3 days, depending on the order (such as bulk orders with multiple weapons/armour).
