General Idea:
A single target ranged magical attack. Should have Attack bonus and Damage bonus. Fluff and image wise, the Cryomancer forms a long, sharp spike of ice and accelerates it with alarming force at a target hopefully impaling them.

Mechanics:
Standard Ranged Magical Attack with a 1 round casting time.
Bonus to attack equal to +1 per slot, bonus to damage equal to +1 per 3 slots. Defender may include their armor in their defense.

Cleaned and prepped research area, and began studying from multiple sources. Outlined potential synthesis, shaping, purification/stabilization, and acceleration techniques. Progress is slow for the time being. Made a single attempt at forming the spike, but was unable to hold the form together. Avoided becoming injured when the form failed catastrophically. Will resume study next time and work through proper math first before trying to synthesize again.

Rilkhea spent a relaxing night reading the most dull and boring books imaginable only to find that the pretentious high elf who wrote them hid actually useful information in the text to be read by an elf casting detect magic. Notes were made and perhaps applicable knowledge was gained.

Rilk made a list of additional books to find, and searched the library for them finding several books she needed and more she didn't. Transcribed notes from a book she thought destroyed.

Summary: Calculated mana pathways and energy levels for upcoming practical test of theory.

Summary: Put all the parts of the spell together, checked references for how to construct the song of power for the spell, tested each part individually for efficacy, and then put all the steps together to check efficacy in a carefully controlled environment. Rilkhea is uncertain of final effects on both target and caster, and is unsure the spell will perform outside of a controlled environment (let alone in the stress of combat). However, in a safe chamber with magical stabilizers, it appears to work. Further study may be required for agreeable in vivo results.
