There's conflict in my confusion when the comfort I feel
by your presence
is the source of my unease, the awkward moment
which it presents
more perfect than any of these
notions of a confrontation
with sensations yet to relent.

I can't help but to fear a change when it's all I hope for,
instincts to blame
for their lack of clarity in choosing a choice
to end this game
that plays us for the rarity
of tension so intense that we
mistake the ache we feel the same.
