My Secret Garden
There is a silent place where I can go
Kneeling by the roses only they know
Each day when the buds blossom wide
Pink, red and yellow by my side
Such beauty doesn’t speak
There only applause the bubbling creek
This secret garden so overgrown
Is my own thorny throne
In a patch of green and moss
You will find a box of iron lost
Inside I hide the words sent to me
I daily peel away the moss to read
One day the thorns and flowers part
I find the one who has captured my heart
There and gone so quick to see
I remain with the flowers that beckon me
Not many seek the path of this garden
The thorns my guards have to give pardon
One day in the moss where the chest is buried
Small purple violets blossom so varied
Where tiny flowers so delicate and purple
To this day the queen of this garden’s circle
A hand creeps through the thorns and roses
To caress me while the vines are closing
