Quick something that wouldn't let me go today.

Unbroken

I am a wild thing, truly.
And don't you dare forget.
Though I may wear a collar,
And you may call me pet.

Bind me, beat me, whip me raw,
Until my skin turns black.
Don't ever call me broken,
And never turn your back.

Dress me in silk or leather,
Braid flowers through my hair.
Tell me you love me most of all,
But don't think that I care.

My heart's home is the mountain,
My eyes contain the sky.
Tell yourself you own me,
And tell yourself a lie.

So keep me sweet, or keep me tight,
From sundown to sunset.
But I am a wild thing, truly,
And don't you dare forget.
