How to Log on mIRC

Postby L`aquera on Sat Feb 02, 2008 8:21 pm

Easy Peezy! Or, so says I that has been using mirc since it came out.

1: Under your Task bar of mirc.. you will see a box that looks like a small letter, its generally white in color. Its usually the box that is right next TO the channel name under your task bar. Unsure what your task bar is? The task bar in mirc has the words of File View Favorites Tools Commands Help
And then UNDER that Task bar are pretty pictures. If you roll your mouse pointer over them, one says Disconnect/Connect another says options and then favorites..

2: click on the box next to the channels name, such as #Lonely_Inn_OOC. It will be right in front of that.

3: It will have a drop down box once you click on that with the words of

Desktop
Agent
Background
Buffer
Logging
Position
Spacing
Timestamp

You want to click on Logging

4: once you open 'Logging' It will have two things to chose from. On and Off. Make sure that On has a check mark next to it. If it does not have a check mark next to On, then put one there by clicking on the word. On.

You can do a Timestamp the same way, only going to Timestamp instead of logging so when you log and you want to know the duration / time of each log, you can turn that to On or click on it to put the checkmark there

Logging works the same way in channels as it does if you wish to Log Private conversations. In each PM box, you'll see the persons name you are talking to, and next to that on the left is that same box. Just click it, scroll down to logging and click on On to put the checkmark there.
