Welcome to Maradia a whole new land! Located far into the north western ocean with plenty of wonder and adventure to be had.

Lady Ronja Mapleshield has been recently tasked with settling this land and claiming it for the empire its land mass rich in many ways. Ores such as copper and mithril as well as the coveted phoenix stones can be found beneath the volcanic rock which have been brought closer to the surface thanks to the activity beneath. The landmass is in a constant flux however. New lava flows reshape the land somewhat regularly in many locations of the island leaving settling a treacherous thing and maps need constant reworking to be accurate. That is not the only ever changing thing on this land.... No because despite the northern climate there's a sizable part of this land that is covered in the dense canopy of a jungle like forest! Trees that grow impressively tall and thick at quite the fast rates. This also has to do with the islands volcanism... The leaves of the trees are seen to trap the heat of the rising steam and air from bellow ground... funneling it outwards to nourish and warm the climate of the forest to the near tropical in places. The quick rate of growth no doubt has come about by the fact that the trees are regularly culled by the same volcanos that provide them warmth. A fascinating creation by Gaea no doubt about that.
This endeavor was made possible through the great bridge a path that now connects this island to any of the portals set up in the empire. Giving it quite the potential as a hub for trade.

Plans for a castle are being drawn up on a southern facing island that once was a peninsula. Optimal since its closely located to the bridge and a large inlet connecting to an inland river leading past the jungles and up near the central mountains. This would be an excellent way to traffic both ore and lumber.
Further more the island can be connected to the mainland of Maradia easily enough with a grand bridge. This would serve as a natural defense as well and being surrounded by water provides a buffer from future lava flows.
