In my experience guilds have two functions generally:

1. To restrict and regiment players roleplaying
2. To give someone the ability to strut about wearing a uniform

Other reasons such as the need for group hugs and being allowed to order other players around may also be considered.

That's why we deleted all but the assassins

So the Thieves' Guild doesn't exist anymore? I keep getting conflicting answers on that one.

He delegates to me :D TG is still active'ish just because you don't see something, doesn't mean its not always active...

Have to agree with Miyuka on this, plus when starting the Artist Ambit for bards SB expressed his desire not to have guilds at least for bards.
