Icki's Shop: Toys and Games (TAGs)

Postby Kooky on Mon Dec 26, 2016 5:24 am

Submitting this as it's started to get some more thought. I figured that since I would hope to use my own tag as -TAGs or -CAGE (with a name-change of Contraptions and Games Emporium), and should there be any future employees, this should be posted as it may need to be approved of for such things.

Not looking for this to be Empire run or sanctioned, but rather a private owned shop with private business dealings. Items sold will not have shopitem ID's and will instead be added to Notes.

However! Should Nobles or any individuals, really anyone, wish to donate/support the opening of his shop either through craft, material, mehrial or another manner, Icki will see to it that proper thanks is given in a variety of ways. This ranges from a banner hung with their name added to it, thanking them, to even having a game in their honor, or a banner/portrait, or a free day of renting the shop's gameroom for a personal event.

TAGs stands for Toys and Games (Shop)
The idea of this shop is dual purpose. Not only will it sell toys and games that are from various cultures of races and lands, but the shop itself will feature races and things and playable games for people, which will be cycled out for others, and each game will have prizes that have been bought custom from other shops. The shop will also provide drinks and small snacks bought from local shops that will be available for purchase and serving for the game players and gamblers.

All items sold will be crafted by Icki or bought from other crafters as in materials or pieces. I'll have detailed math for the cost of materials and labor, and places where such materials will be bought. The same goes for games and parts for the games. New things will be added as Icki's skill grows or other things from people become available.. and namely, as I think of them and word them right!

Current Pricelist: Tentative to material/labor/skill costs. WIP

Toys
Paddleball - 3mhl
- A thin wooden paddle not meant for spanking. It has a rope knotted through its center, connected to a small carved cork ball. Made for idly passing time.
Cork Ball - 5mhl
- A 3in bouncey ball that has been made of cork peelings and compressed for its shape, molded through steam and cured by kiln heat. Will float in water but too much over-saturation may result in swelling. +2mhl for dyed color
Marbles - 10mhl
- A pouch that contains 15 small glass marbles at half an inch in size and a large one inch marble known as the Shooter. Comes in various colors and glass mixes.
Chalk - 3mhl
- Made of rock and clay dust that's been molded into a single stick/rod form that's about 3in long and 1in thick. Very fragile and turns to mush if exposed to water, as all marks made by chalk easily wipe away. Comes in white or light brown naturally or may be colored for +1mhl
Crayons - 5mhl
- Made of a hardened wax mixed with powdered pigments and cast into the form of a stick that's about 3in long and 1/2in thick. It's prone to melting in heat, but can withstand water without scrubbing and comes in a wide variety of colors.
Wooden Dice - 1mhl; 5mhl for a set of six
- Dice start at half an inch large and have as many sides as desired, with the numbers marked as either carved and/or wood-burnt or painted numbers or dots. +1mhl for stained/colored
Toy Sailboat - 75mhl
- This toy boat is made to be on the water, with its sails catching the air. For all intents and purposes it is a tiny boat of about 6in-2ft in length that even a fae or pixie could ride upon if desired. While it does not have 'working' parts like a true boat, it floats and can be vaguely steered without boating skills.
Ship-in-a-bottle - 100mhl
- This is a tiny ship replica that has been built within a glass bottle. It makes for a great collection hobby as well as a neat desk-top display. This is custom-ordered only and takes a minimum of one week to complete.
Music Box - ?mhl +mhl for ornate/size
(WIP item, still waiting on reply from Ehl about potential and possibility)
Zah-zuh - 5mhl
- The Zah-zuh (Yo-yo) is a toy commonly found in catfolk society, roughly translating to the Up-Down. It's a piece of wood that resembles a symmetrical round apple with the inside eaten away, connected by the core in a chubby hourglass design. The core is wrapped with a 4ft long, densely braided string that's capped off with a loop, where the user's finger slides into. Used for a number of tricks and entertainment, it takes a bit of wrist-flicking skill (and for some catfolk, tail-flicking skill) to 'walk' the Zah-zuh as well as just get it to unwind and wind itself back up along its string.
Discus - 3mhl
- The TLI version of a frisbee. It's a thin wooden disk that moreso resembles a very flattened bowl, in that it has a slightly domed top and inverted inside. The trick to making one is to take a flat cut of wood and put it on a surface that can be turned, to best carve and whittle down the wood on one side, and flip it to shape and hollow out the inside. This design allows for it to glide across the air with proper tossing technique. Good for people as well as dogs.
Marionette - 50mhl
- Carved of wood with wooden joints, this specialized creation moves through use of strings and wooden x-crossed rods as control frames. The marionettes available are of animals and very generic, detail-less humanoid forms but specialized ones can be custom ordered for the right price.
Shadow Puppet - 25mhl
- Consists of a shaped piece of wood upon a stick (or sticks) that with a canvas tarp and proper lighting, are used to create shadow puppets. Commonly used for story-telling, a good shadow puppet has been used to distract and bluff as well.
Hand Puppet - 60mhl
- Made of cloth, these are puppets of cloth that fit over the hand, where the thumb acts as the lower jaw and allows said puppet to 'talk' with the aid of the user's voice. Puppets with arms attached to rods cost a +5mhl and can handle properly created 'weapons' and other props. The ones available are of animals and playfully created racial forms. Custom orders can be made.
Ventriloquist Puppet - 150mhl
- The one on display is of a goblin, a mini-Icki known as MI (me!) with red dyed fur hair. His form is made of pine, which has been carved and detailed to look every bit like a very exaggerated Icki, but wears big lens-less wire glasses and is painted a lighter shade of green with the fur detailed wood sculpted in. These sorts of puppets have jointed, movable limbs but do not move with use of strings, as they're for hand-posing only when seated upon a surface. The mouth moves and head turns by use of wooden knobs located inside, reachable and directed by the fingers. Comes with a black cloth sleeve for the arm to best hide behind the puppet. This puppet can only be custom ordered and takes at least a week to create.
Puppeteering Stage - 50mhl { +25 for curtains or shadow-play screen, +25 for interchangeable backdrops, +50 for mirror candle lighting}
- The stage, where the best storytelling of entertainers, bards and hobbyists take place. The stage is the location, which sets the scene and influences the mood. It resembles a large wooden crate at first glance, measuring 4ftx3ft with a 4.5ft height. The front is decorated for fine display, where there's an opening framed by the box, and a stage is set for all forms of puppeteering and ventriloquism, everything from ducking down and using hand puppets, to standing tall and using marionettes, and even setting up a mirrored candle in the back, for shadow-play, while the puppeteer remains hidden, should they want to. Under the stage are boxes and shelves for props and puppets alike, and the stage comes with a cloth drop that is used to cover it when not in use. Wheels and hinges for folding and portability may be added and modified for extra cost. Detailed woodwork can be custom ordered for a more individualized and less generic stage.
Puppeteering Props - ?mhl
- These vary on size, detail and type. Puppeteering props are made of a kiln-dried wood that is extremely light weight but more fragile than most woods. In some cases, they may be made of or include cork, bone and even corncob. An example price would be.. A wooden hook, made for 'yanking' puppets off stage comically comes to 2mhl, while a mallet made of wood for the shaft and corncob for the hammer with cork bottoms would come to 5mhl.
Fae-scope - 30mhl
- The TLI version of The Kaleidoscope. It's a hollow wooden cylinder, like a cup with the bottom cut off. Inside is a triangle composed of three pieces of different colored stained glass and mirror shards. At the front are two disks composed of different shards of melted glass, which is held on by a wooden 'cup' that screws on to the other piece, allowing the glass disks to be turned and create a show of varying, unique patterns to be gazed upon when its pointed at a light source.
Slingshot - 4mhl
- Made from a branch where two lesser branches fork off from the main body. Those forked limbs are wrapped with leather strands with a leather 'saddle' in the center of them, used to hold cork pellets or small rocks for firing and shooting. The slingshot is in no way combative, in that it's not able to support strength for hurting anyone and any attempts to use it as such, will cause the forked limbs to crack and leather to snap. Includes a pouch and ten cork pellets.
Glass Critters - 3mhl
- Tiny one-of-a-kind 1 inch animals. Handmade by glassblowing, no molds are used to create these little colorful works of art. Commonly made from left-over glass and broken bits, there's a small box filled with all sorts of animals known in Belariath, varying in colors and expressions.
Glass Dangle Critters - 5mhl
- Ranging from 3-5in. These entirely handmade critters of glass are designed to dangle from a thin chain. They either have a connection from their back, so for example, a mephos would look as if it were in flight.. or they're gripping the chain with their hands and/or feet, such as a gecko clinging to it. These decorative creatures bring a bright pop of color to any room and can even be hung outside, so long as they're far enough away from hitting anything the wind blows them towards.
Sun-catchers - 35mhl
- Comes in 6x6in square, circular and 8x11in rectangle forms. These are images similar to windows, made of pieces of glass that have been fitted together to create a fully glass image within a wooden frame, made to hang by two sturdy chains. These windows hang and catch the sunlight, which makes the glass pop brilliantly and reflect the images and dancing colors.
Wooden Blocks - 10mhl
- A set of 20 wooden blocks. Four blue 3x3in squares, four red 3x5in rectangles, four 3x2in yellow triangles, four 2x4in green cylinder logs, four 4x6in orange wide rectangles. Each block is slightly rounded and sanded smooth, then thickly painted.
Dancer's Hoop - 6mhl
- This hoop is unique in that it's a hollow rod of wood, usually bamboo or reed-wood, that has been formed into a circle through steaming and curing. In some cases small beads of wood, rice beans and even bells can be added for a shaking sound, as well as holes carved in for a whistling, whirling sound as the hoop is tossed in the air or spun about ones limb or waist. Can be wrapped with ribbon as well or painted for adding color.

Games
Flirty Dice - 5mhl
- Two wooden cubes that are an inch large with wood-burnt calligraphic lettering. One contains the following words: 1) Lick 2) Suck 3) Massage 4) Nibble 5) Kiss 6) Tickle.. The other contains 1) Ear 2) Neck 3) Nipple 4) Thigh 5) Navel 6) U Pick
Kinky Dice - 6mhl
- Three wooden cubes that are an inch large with wood-burnt calligraphic lettering. One contains the following words: 1) Suck 2) Fondle 3) Lick 4) Nibble 5) Tongue Fuck 6) Just Fuck... The second contains 1) A toy 2) Ass 3) Lips 4) Your choice 5) Their choice 6) Each other... The third contains... 1) Playful 2) Hard 3) Rough 4) Soft 5) Fast 6) Slow
Jacks - 10mhl
- A pouch that contains one 1in red-dyed cork ball and 24 metal jacks similar to two bent nails that have been smithed together at the center. The game is played by rolling !r 1d24 while the player tosses the ball down at the scattered jacks. The ball bounces into said jacks and the player can quickly grab them, the dice roll equating to how many they caught from the air and thus how many points they get. The caught jacks are then deducted from the roll for the next player/round.
Deck of Cards - 12mhl
- A deck of 52 hand-created cards with numbers and shapes. Ideal for playing games such as Old Maid, Go Fish and Valencian Hold 'Em.
Ra`ji ru Mur Tiles - 20mhl +mhl for various materials
- Ra`ji ru Mur (Vulpine Dominos) is a game that uses double-sided tiles of a set of 24 tiles. Each tile has two sections and each section has a different mark. The goal is that each player starts with 12 and takes turn laying down tiles, needing to match the end of the opponent's last tile. If they can't, they may start a new branch of tiles off of one of the tiles laid down prior, but each player may only do this once. Should a player be unable to make a move, their opponent wins. Should a player have 0 tiles left, they win. Also, these tiles are very fun just to stand up on their bottoms and line up, then knock down so they knock each other down in a line that trails until they all fall. The starting material for these tiles is wood, but ceramic, stone and even bone is known to be used as well.
Chess Set - 50mhl +mhl for various materials as wall as painted or stained for color
Made of wood, each square on the board has been cut by hand and sanded, then pieced together. Light and dark colored wood alternates in a checkered pattern, matching the pieces that have been carved. For extra cost, it may come in stone, ceramic, metal or glass (+10mhl).
Durquike Hoop - 15mhl
- Durquike is a wolven game played among many packs and tribes. Each set has six arrow-like darts composed of wood with feathered ends and blunt tips as well as one 1ft hoop with a grid of colored string making numerous sized boxes across it, with each box painted with dye to mark points. Each player takes a dart and lines up in a crouch. The roller then howls and rolls the hoop behind the players' backs. They spin around and toss their dart swiftly as the hoop rolls, with the roller taking note of which box the arrows goes through. Each box means different points, with the smallest box in the center being the highest value. Each player rolls !r 1d50 to play.
Rhuukaan Duulkhaar, Molkac - 25mhl
- Roughly translating to something like Tower of Bones for Humans in common, this goblin-cultured game is one of concentration-- which makes for great fun when your comrades are set on screwing you up and it's hard to think! Generally played while drunk alongside loud, less intelligent members of the tribe, the goal is to take a bone from the bottom of the stacked pile and place it on top, without causing the tower to fall on your turn. This game has been modified for Pinkskins in that the bones are actually 1inx4in blocks of solid wood to make a tower of a solid rectangle. There are 60 blocks in all with each layer having three blocks snug against each other stacked in an alternating pattern. (TLI's version of Jenga) The turn-play goes as follows: PlayerA removes a block. Players B, C and D all roll to try and mess PlayerA up. If they do not and PlayerA is successful, they roll again to place their block at the top of the tower. Then it's PlayerB's turn. Each player rolls !r 1d4 on their turn. If it's your turn to pull out a block or stack the block and you roll a 1, you collapse the tower. The same goes for setting a block on top. If you are trying to mess up your opponent's concentration, you roll a !r 1d4 on your turn and make a distraction, with a 1 meaning you are successful, causing them to re-roll. Should they roll a 1 on a re-roll, the tower collapses and you win. Those who are impaired roll a !r 1d3 instead of 4 for their turns. Those with the concentration skill roll an additional dice, for either a d4 or a d5 if not impaired.

Let's Play! Games
For games that do not give out an item as a prize, but mehrial instead, the house takes a 10% cut from the prize pot to cover costs and repairs. In some cases this may be waved, usually on a case-by-case basis or in the case of a tournament. The House Cut is one of the ways TAG funds itself and allows for such winnings from its high variety of unique activities.

Phoenix Darts
Buy-in: 5mhl each
Prize: The Pot (minus the 20% House Cut) 2ppl: 8mhl, 3ppl: 12mhl, 4ppl: 16mhl, 5ppl: 20mhl, 6ppl: 24mhl
Two players required, six players maximum
Play: !r 1d20
- There's a 2ft round cork dart board with multiple dyed rings that shrink down to a 1 inch red center. Each ring/color is a set amount of points. Each player receives four same-colored darts, which are then thrown at the dart board one at a time with alternating turns. The darts are a light wood with a feathered end and a long metal tip, sharp enough to puncture the cork. The feather/dart color would be either red, orange, white, yellow, blue, or purple. Turn order is determined by either the players or an initial throw of a single dart at the board (!r 1d20) and the highest goes first with lowest going last. Should two people hit the same ring (roll the same number) they do the initial throw again between one another. The dart board is located 15ft away across the room and players may not cross the white line on the floor to get any nearer to the board for their throws.
Point go as follows: 1-5 {Miss the colored rings, hits the outmost ring of black cork for 0pts} 6-11 {Purple ring, 1pt} 12-15 {Blue ring, 2pts} 15-17 {Yellow ring, 3pts} 18-19 {Orange ring, 4pts} 20 {Red circle, 6pts}

Prize: Your drunken dignity and personal winnings
- Roughly translating to something like Big Ass Tower of Bones for Humans in common, this goblin-cultured game is one of concentration-- which makes for great fun when your comrades are set on screwing you up and it's hard to think! Generally played while sober and for each loss, the loser takes a drink. The goal is to take a bone from the bottom of the stacked pile and place it on top, without causing the tower to fall on your turn. This game has been modified for Pinkskins in that the bones are actually 3inx9in blocks of solid wood to make a tower of a solid rectangle. Should they roll a 1 on a re-roll, the tower collapses and you win, so they must take a drink. Those who are impaired roll a !r 1d3 instead of 4 for their turns, and if double-impaired, it's -1 dice for each drink/loss they have suffered down to a minimum of !r 1d2. Those with the concentration skill roll an additional dice, starting with !r 1d5 for those who are not impaired. Players may play for points or shits and giggles. This is usually a fun game to gamble on.

Wheel of Fortune (Roulette)
Cost: 0mhl.. Instead of House Cuts, the coin that is not won is instead used for the payouts. There are minimum and maximum bets for various odds and choices.
Prize: Various odds of winning for various returned mehrial
This gambling game is one of pure luck. It features a wooden wheel with numbered slots of the alternating colors black and red, with 1 being green and the 'House Win' slot. It is spun clockwise but the game-runner, and a small glass marble of white is then rolled into the wheel counter clockwise. The marble will land eventually as momentum is lost, finding purchase in one of the numbered slots. A !r 1d42 is made by the game runner for the winning number/slot. If at any time the marble lands on 1, all bets are lost and the House keeps the coin. There is a flat table beyond the wheel where each number is painted white in a painted box of corresponding wheel color, where the players place their mehrial. Please note that this game will only be available when the House (TAG) has proper funds to assure payout, and thus if the odds favor many people on a single day, TAG will close the game 'for repairs' until able to fund the payout again.

Mage Hunt
Buy-in: 5mhl
Prize: Various shaped pillows, may trade in 3 smaller sizes to get the bigger size
This unique game features some painted pointed hat-shaped thin wood hinged to wooden slabs that are bolted down to a strip of leather, which is pulled taut around two thickly modified wheels on either end, so that when spun, the ducks rotate around in a belted loop, doing upside-down to 'reset' on their hinges and pop up set when traversing along. Players are given a slingshot with 5 corks as the pellets, and use the sling to 'shoot' the mage hats and knock them down (backwards on their hinge) in order to win. Only one hat downed is required for winning a prize. A !r 1d5 is rolled each turn, where a 5 is a success and knocks the hat back for a win.
Bonus: Any Physical Class Fighter gets a +1 to their rolls (Includes WM and Paladin for physical aspects)
Prize List: TBA

Ring-a-Wand
Buy-in: 5mhl
Prize: Various shaped pillows, may trade in 3 smaller sizes to get the bigger size
This game features a flat board with numerous wooden rods sticking up from it spaced exactly 3.1 inches apart. Among the rods are 'wands' of gnarled wood with small star tips atop them. The player is given four 3-inch rings and must aim and toss them to try and loop one of the wands to win. Due to the spacing and the star tips, this is rather difficult. Only one ring on a wand is needed to win. A r! 1d6 is rolled each turn, where a 6 is a success and means the ring landed upon a wand.
Bonus: Any Magical Class gets a +1 to their rolls
Prize List: TBA

Basket Ball
Buy-in: 5mhl
Prize: Various shaped pillows, may trade in 3 smaller sizes to get the bigger size
This game features a very precisely angled and placed wooden basket with a shallow depth. The player can't get any closer to it than a two-foot distance marked off by a line of nailed cloth to the floor, and must toss a wooden ball into the basket -and- have it stay. In most cases, the ball will go into the basket, but roll out due to the shape of the basket, its give in its form, and the force and angle of the toss. Only one ball staying in is needed to win. A !r 1d5 is rolled each turn. If the number is odd (1, 3, 5), the ball has made it into the basket and the player must roll a !r 1d3 to see if the ball stays in the basket. Only a 1 will have it stay inside. The player gets 6 balls to throw.
Bonus: Any non-combat class gets a re-roll on their !r 1d3 roll.
Prize: TBA

Bowl'n Ball

!r 1d20 : The player aims for the topmost small bowl high in the center above all others. 20: 75pts
Playing this game gets the player on the leaderboard for scores. This is a game that will have championships, champions and trophies.

Beast Racing

These races are unique in that they are not only run by animals, but the animals who are outside-owned that win become listed as Champions/Winners and gain an increase in prize mehrial. In most cases, the races are run by TAGs-owned critters for set odds.
The racing animals are listed to a maximum of seven, as it's a common lucky number. The following animal races are offered at TAGs with their custom tracks: Turtles, Mice, Crabs, Frogs, Rabbits, Snails.. more to come as Icki gets them. It should be noted that these animals are NOT trained. So they are purely motivated by food at the finish line and they do tend to act out and can be rather unpredictable. They also bite.

Boat Racing
This relies on either small-folk manned boats (for certain competitions) or unmanned boats. And all of said boats are of course, toy sail boats that are being run on a water-course at TAG. While most races will have toy sailboats that are owned by TAG, competitions will be open to those who have modified their own using the TAG bought base.

Obstacle Course
Under the TAG, supposedly located in the full basement, is a myth.. a rumor... a reality. It's a thieve's dream. Rumor has it that Icki used his engineering and crafting skills to create an ever-shifting obstacle course, which because of its moving walls and chain reactions, is never the same twice. And located deep in the center is a true prize, a pile of jewels and mehrial, which even the best of thieves would only have chance to get a handful grasp-- and keeping it would be harder still. Used only in events, high-stakes gambles and perhaps the initiation or two, this course is one of wit and talent, intuition and instinct.. and only Icki knows its secrets.
