Currently the argument is:
<+redacted> doesn't seem complicated to me? whether its 1 follower or 5 they have 25% of the stats and are treated as one character
<+redacted> it doesn't matter how many maids you have at home
I'm curious if such a scenario has ever actually been considered as far as the mechanics go, and what others' input may be.
Thank you in advance for your time and surely thoughtful additions to the subject.
Recently, conversation came up concerning the topic of Minions and their stats. The cut and paste of the 'rules as written' are below along with links and what sections to read them under.
My concept : If NecromancerA has 50 minions, and the stat pool of 25% of the NecromancerA's stats are spread amongst the HordeA of those 50 minions, if the NecromancerA takes -1- minion with them out and about, does that -1- minion still have access to the full 25% stats of the minion stat pool? Or would it have the stats of 25% of the NecromancerA's stats, then divided by 50 (the number of total minions) ? Since the 'HordeA' is treated as one 'creature' for combat purposes, however the NecromancerA is only 'caught out' with -1- of the HordeA? As an extra question I have come up with while writing this question out, would a full on HordeA attack on a single person, though it attacks as one 'creature' require the defense stamina drain of 50 attacks at one turn? (100 stamina)
On the same vein but with a bit of different point of view, Warlords who's minions can be individually tasked for things such as personal maids, squires, coachmen, butlers, etc as well as warrior knights, the same question:
If WarlordA has a personal maid, a squire, a messenger, and two Knights Errant sworn to him that is the limit of 5 that a Warlord can have, but clearly only two are built as combative assistance. Is the full 25% spread across all 5 Entourage members? Are all 5 Entourage members required to be present in order to fight at max strength of 25% stats as 'one creature'? Could -1- Knight Errant be escorting the Warlord and have the full 25% of the 'Entourage' or would that 25% realistically be assigned between the two Knights? IE 12.5% of the Warlord's stats each?
https://www.belariath.com/classes/necro.html Rules for Resurrection of the Dead:
A Necromancer may revive any number of undead minions, but they do not follow separate commands unto themselves. The horde of undead act as a single unit, and have a cumulative stat pool that equals 25% of the Necromancer's current and base stats (rounded up) to a maximum of 80. The only exception is the Intelligence stat, which the minions will always have a 0 Intelligence.
When minions are destroyed by any means, a Necromancer must wait 1 week from the moment the minions die to properly recover from the loss, and resurrect another.
The minions are under the complete control of the Necromancer, obeying every command given to them.
If minions are used in combat, the Necromancer must roll a separate Initiative roll without their level modifier to determine the place the minions have in the combat cycle. Combat continues as normal, with the Necromancer having his/her turn, and the minion(s) acting as a single unit with one turn.
https://www.belariath.com/classes/warlord.html Attracting an Entourage:
Warlords are leaders and as they grow in prestige and demonstrate this power, they will attract followers. Due to this prestige, a Warlord is able to build a compound or keep at a decreased rate. After the keep is built, the Warlord will begin to attract followers, a small entourage of ever available underlings to assist in mundane tasks, run errand and even deliver messages, such as a squire. As they grow in power and prestige the quality of follower will increase. At lower prestige, (ie Warlord levels) they may only attract a groomsman to attend a mount. However at the highest level, they may have attracted a season knight who has pledged his loyalty and can oversee the running of the warlords garrison. This entourage will not be large, no more than five followers and they would never interfere in the personal matters of the Warlord. An insult will not be dealt with by this group, but a Warlord is sure to learn of it. The entourage will never dishonor their leader by joining a one on one fight that the Warlord is engaged in, but would be able to participate in larger quests and events, defending the Warlord to the best of their ability. The entourage would fight as one unit having 25% the stats of the Warlord. For each level of Warlord taken, the Warlord adds one follower to his entourage.
