Wraythe little gifts (for Miranda)

Postby ghost on Sun Jan 15, 2017 9:18 pm

Wraythe found himself at the Inn more and more of late, since he had seen Miranda first perform, he had made sure to catch all her shows, thought she would not see him for all of them, he watched her from shadows, rafters and under tables. He had brought her flowers, taken from someone's greenhouse, ripped right up out of the ground and left them for her backstage with a note.

'Fer Meerannda,
Yer 1 Fan.
W.'

this show had been exquisite and so he had decided to give her another gift.

The box, sealed and wrapped for her would be found by the stage exit. In side in paper, she would find a dead chicken. It had been alive suredly when placed there but the bands around its neck and body to keep it immovable, might very well have suffoctated it.

'Fer Meerannda,
May yous always have eggs fer your sho.
1 Fan
W.'

She had seen him a couple of times. Most noticeably when he invaded the stage during her "naughty mage" act and spat on her. That one, even Miranda confessed, had been one for the books. But she hadn't seen him everytime. Perhaps she'd been too busy stage managing an egg whisk or the walnuts? Or perhaps she was dealing with a more verbal heckler, of which there were many! (Bloody critics, she thinks to herself)

But other than those couple of instances when she had seen him she doesn't give him another thought, having firmly put him in the mental pile of hers labelled "Fruitcake".

The flowers, though, were examined with some excitement. Oh, indeed they were rubbish and had cost nothing, but it was that which she found rather hopeful. It seemed to Miranda that the richer the patronage...the less they tipped. Why what some noble Paladin had tipped barely bought her a pair of knickers, whilst that nice man from the shop had given her enough to get her -very- special custom banjo finally made. So, a gift that cost nothing? Must be from someone very important...and as she reads the note, she adds to herself...and thick. Which, Miranda concludes, made it even more likely that is was a noble!

It wasn't until the second gift arrived that she started to worry.

"Fook me" was her reaction. In fact it was her reaction, repeated constantly for the next twenty minutes as she paced up and down backstage before throwing the whole parcel in the bin and trying to forget about it.

Wraythe felt his last gift was rather appropriate, hopefully it would help her in her endeavors. he hoped that she would make good use of the chicken. his next visit caught her 'Milk Shake' routine and he would have taken to drinking banana walnut milk regularly, though he imagined it would be more sweet should she have made it for him with her whisk.

HER Whisk, that was it. He would take her Whisk and give her a new one, special from her Patron to her.

Following her he found where she kept he utensils and he would grin, taking her whisk, smelling it, he ran a tongue along it and absconded with it.

He left her one, he had carved it himself, out of wood, polished it to a shimmer and a shine, sanding it smooth until there was no splinter he could find. he gave the handle a little lip, so that it was wider at the end, for a bit of assistance holding in, and that was the rub, he missed a bit of sanding and so it was a bit rougher, rubbing a bit more less gently than it should have, rubbing move deeply against skin as it moved.

Immaculately hand crafted, the symbol of the Emperor in the handle as if from the kitchens of the emperor, but no, It could not be one of those, it was better, Wraythe had improved the one he had found and made it better. No matter it had been in a palace refuse heap, covered in pig entrails, He had licked it clean, polished it and added his own touches to it. He had made it is own. he missed that one of the tines was a little cracked and whisking would not work well.

Using an under pier contact at Thallis, he got it enchanted, with vibrate, but alas such nefarious cretins have uncertain magics. the vibrate only god from intense to intense and it does not allow one to have a grip that well upon it when activated. once in place it is hard to remove and well once activated the magic can never stop, occurring at random times. Wrapped in a discarded embroiders sheet from an Imperial bed, cut to work just perfectly.and left with her stuff at the stage, he would watch her through the end of that act, from the shadows.

A Note'
'Heard yours was missing, made this for you, it is magical, activates, 'Whiskit, Whiskit good'.

Enjoy,
W.

Well! This was more like it! She had of course been highly dubious about something else being received back stage. Well after the last gift who could blame her!

But this! Well this was more welcome and she preens slightly as she spies the imperial logo. After all, Miranda had hoped her act would catch someones eye but she hadn't expected imperial interest - well not given the size, or lack off, in the old boobies department at any rate.

And it was so fortunate. Her own had gone missing. Something which she blamed the cooks for - they'd been having a running battle of late over Miranda's purloining of foodstuffs. "Loins" being rather the operative word in this case.

Fortunately for Miranda she rarely did a show more than twice. The usual pattern being to practice once when it was quiet and then perform properly when the Inn was busier and so she had already moved on to her new act. After all she needed to do as many acts as possible in a variety of costumes for more neferious purposes.

For Miranda's time on stage had a much bigger purpose than would be supposed.....as did the costumes she bought.

Still, she was pleased with her gift - which made a change! - and she puts it away safely for a time when she might perform the "naughty chef" again. She still had to come up with something for Lumio's fair - and in a pinch she figures she could always roll it out there again if she had too! But now...well now she had a new act to perform!

Her next little gift was much more mundane. well considering the others one, this was certainly more tame and impressive. He had seen her IG routine and though it was quite inspired, so he had decided to see if he could make it more authentic. Scouring around, he found what he was looking for and moved to follow the prey. shadows his friends and he would study the prey from afar, following them and then finally, he would see the opportunity. Whilst in the middle of the scouting mission, the prey came across a vulnerable catgirl and began to take advantage of her with some trumped up charge. Taking off his cloak, he laid it over a log and Wraythe would sneak up as the catgirl exclaimed, 'oh bally, you are so big' It sound fake to Wraythe but he was not here to critique and so he would take what he wanted and after watching for a bit, he leapt up grabbing a limb and dropping a few leaves on the couple, who did not bother to look up.

Miranda would find a small box on her pillow on night. A white ribbon wrapped box. In it was an authentic IG badge, a real one with a bit of blood splatter on it. some barely decipherable letters on it. 'B' maybe was one.

'I hope you have enjoyed my last gifts, this is an authentic badge from an IG person, I hope it is useful in your show. Love W.'

Of course Miranda didn't know of the provinence of the badge in question, but has mixed feelings about her gift none the less.

She -was- pleased she now had a real badge. Well, the wine stain on it would soon come off she thinks, and she did take pride in her outfits. Mainly because her stage work and costumes had a much more sinister purpose and accuracy was key! However, she was -not- pleased to find it on her pillow. Not pleased -at- all.

That night she resolves to go and find somewhere else to stay. Surely they'd be someone she could stay with?
