Of rivers and boats....
Posted: Sat Oct 28, 2017 12:11 pmRebecca had, of late, taken a keep interest in the stream at the end of her estate. Well she did enjoy getting all wet for fun so this seemed a natural extension.
And, with a bit of poking around at maps and whatnot, she'd found to her delight that her stream not only ran down to the river Thalis but that her part of it was apparently un-named. A moments toying with names such as "Rebecca's gap" and "Rebecca's channel" before she decided on something that wasn't quite so obviously her. The stream was slow and alone at this point of it's meandering and so it comes to her! Slow and Alone...but them together, mix them up a bit...and she had the name. The river Sloane!
Feeling pleased with herself and with with that settled, and a trip to town to acquire a boat, she now had an additional problem. What to name the bally boat?
Well given she planned to use it to range up and down the river, there really was only one option. And so with some delicate paintwork, she proudly named her vessel...
"The Sloane Ranger"
*confesses this is a crap joke unless you're british and have met Rebecca - and then it is a tad funnier...
** Yes, she has actually bought a boat and named it that!
