[[OOC This thread is an excuse for me to write and role play and I encourage any who interact with Marena who also like to write, to compliment and add to this thread if they wish with relevant RP, their character thoughts and musings on interactions with mine and agreed role play if there is a desire to share etc. I was going to save some of this for level 5 promotion requirements but I have too much in me to wait that long .]]

There is a simple definition of treasure:- something valuable (typically viewed as money, jewels, gold, or silver) that is hidden or kept in a safe place, something that is very special, important, or valuable, or a person who is greatly loved or valued especially because of being very helpful.
Marena was only as vain as the next mermaid and it was purported that the maids of the sea enjoyed to sunbathe to the rocks and while waiting to lure sailor prey for sport, they would pamper and preen themselves to bring their already beautiful features to be at their very best. This involved a variety of techniques:- from using products of the sea such as seaweeds and sandy-mud masks to keep their skins soft and supple and to take the healthy sun's toning of color, to applying the secretions of various sea snail species for their dyes [[source 1]] to add striking color of pinks, reds and corals in subtle shades to their lips and nipples, and to using their inherited handcrafted and sometimes enchanted treasures to bring their long tresses to shine with a rich and glowing lustre.
As threesomes and foursomes, they gathered and giggled with their silky voices, sharing tale and swapping dye or weed, discussing the best source and location for that sweet shade of snail oil that was in vogue at the time. But their treasures were individual and personal to each mermaid, unique gifts from their forebears upon their coming of age. Some were neatly shaped coral pieces, others carved from great shells while the rare few were hewn from more earthly land materials, precious metals embedded with gemstone that did not corrode from the sea's touch and were finely and delicately crafted and the rarest were imbued with the weave.
Marena's treasures were of the very rarest kind.
