The Cleansing of the Grove (Dethsiris News and Update)

Recently a corrupted grove was discovered deep in the jungle. Further into the dense, mysterious land than -most- have explored. At the heart of this part of the jungle lay one of the rare, yet fabled Passion Trees. The source of these trees powers was discovered. An old, nearly ancient phoenix stone lies within the heart of the tree. This was the root of corruption. The stone having been left unattended for decades...perhaps longer.

The tree had started to feed upon the magic of the grove, started to drain the other trees of their own nutrients in order to sustain itself. Luckily this corruption was discovered before the decay could spread further into the land. A few adventurers answered the call and went into the depths of the jungle to unravel the mystery.

With the corruption of the stone having been destroyed, and with the help of druids, and wild creatures who are born from the wishes of Gaea, the Passion Tree was made whole again.

An important lesson was learned here today, though. Magic is not self sufficient. It needs to be tended to, much as a grove of trees do. Much as people do. If left on it's own, it will turn rogue and survival will kick in. Survival. Whatever it takes. Even if it means killing that what is supposed to be protected.

Now there are TWO known passion trees in Dethsiris. Both of them needing regular attention and caution. Those faithful to Gaea have much work to do in order to maintain the jungle ecosystem.

As for Dethsiris...who knows what else lies in the thick mists that cling to the ground. Or what the next unbeaten trail will reveal. Use caution when traversing the area. Be aware that is not like any part of the Empire we have known so far. And remember...you ARE being watched. ALWAYS. Whether by those who wear the banner of Dethsiris, whether by the denizens of the jungle, the goddess who calls it home, or even those few who venture into the unknown for discovery, knowledge, and adventure.
