Questing guideline

So, you want to hold a quest? But, you have cold feet? Nerves got ya? Scared the Quest Team will bite and BITE hard? Fear not, fellow players! Here is a simple guideline among guidelines for you to follow when submitting your quest idea to the team!

First off, read this: http://belariath.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=75&t=1684 It's the guidelines on the website.

But what you probably don't know is this:

1) We encourage everyone who wants to hold a quest or an event to do so! Find a Quest Team member to help you with questions or to run an idea by if you have any doubts.

2) Be prepared for slight adjustments/modifications to your original idea if it's warranted. The Team does not set out to change your ideas per se however, there are rules that have to be followed as outlined in the above link in the guidelines.

3) First time quest runners may have up to 5 players (not including yourself as the GM) join their quest. If it's a quest that runs for a few days and a player can't make it back, you may have someone else fill in, that's not a problem.

4) First time quest runners and, until Quest Team approves you otherwise, MUST have an OP or a member of the Quest Team present during the entire quest. Experienced quest runners may proceed without an observer however, it is advised to try and have an OP or Quest Team member in attendance.

5) Don't like large buffered posts? Don't really want long winded players joining your quest? You as the GM of your quest can say to your players: Keep your posts down to 1 or 2 buffers - whatever your preference is, that's what you should state outright when you post for signups.

6) Rewards for players who join your quest:
a/ All players get XP while they RP, that's a reward in and of itself however, we will give some extra XP if the GM asks!
b/ The GM will now be given 500 mhl from the Quest team to be used to purchase any trinkets, etc to be handed out to players. The GM will be required to send their Quest Team representative a message board PM showing all transactions for the coin spent. Any left over money will need to be subbed with a witness and a copy of it sent via a PM.
c/ Also, the GM can pay out of their own pocket, solicit store owners/managers for gifts/vouchers/mhl or, even seek out help from Noble's.
d/ The Quest Team can authorize 150 mhl per player/per session which will be paid out by the overseeing Team Member/OP.
e/ The GM can also request a mIoP AND if it is approved by the Quest Team, they must post here for the SI Team: http://belariath.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=103&t=8166 but please note that your mIoP MUST be created/approved by the Special Items team before your quest is ran. So, in a nut shell, if you want one to give out during your quest, seek a member of the Special Items team, have it worked on OR pick one that's already been made and is still available from the pool, THEN you can add it to your quest submission. (It's much easier than it probably sounds!)

A note to anyone who participates in a quest/tourny/event:

How to deal with problem players during Quests
It is the Right of any Quest team member, the Quest Runner to quietly PM any Trouble maker immediately with a "Please quit interrupting/silliness/Spell foolery/Mind the rules" Or ask said interrupter to leave the Quest itself. If they won't leave, an Op can be contacted to make them leave.

When submitting your quest writeup - you only need to send it to one person on the team and, please include the following information. It will save time and help the Quest Team move quicker on a decision about your submission!

1) Death possible?
2) The HP for the players.
3) A detailed list of the baddies with their HP.
4) !qdice or combat - and for newbies, it is highly suggested that they stick with !qdice though if you have a good grasp on combat dice, go for it!
5) What are all the rewards going to be and where are they coming from. Quest team can sanction 150 mhl per player and if requested, would consider a mIoP that the SI team would help fashion.
6) Will there be an NPC Healer available if there's not a Healer in the group that's questing?
7) For the one running the quest, what reward would they want if it were deemed they deserved one: Up to 2 free levels, an IoP or a Jhore.

Once your quest has been approved and, you've settled on a date, contact Tehya if you want so she can put it on the calendar for you.
