Physical Class Mentoring

Postby lyllamarie on Tue Oct 27, 2009 2:28 pm

In line with the recent change to the mentoring system that allows magical classes to train and earn discounts as reward for their diligence, a similar system has been made to assist those of the physical class to also benefit from mentor, student relations.

To begin, mentor and student practice sessions should be utilizing the Arena and the assortment of training opportunities allotted in the sanctioned area. Aside from this, what we ask is that each session be logged and those logs posted in separate threads in the Arena Forum. One post for each mentor and student, with one hour required at least each week for at least a month.

In return for showing your progress, the arena management in conjunction with the weapon and armor shop will sign off on each month completed, where you will be presented with a discount off an item of choice. Your choices are for the first month you can chose to receive a 50% off discount on any one (1) weapon or armor of A or B class. If you forgo the first month’s gift, you may choose to wait for the second month where you are then presented with a 50% off discount on any one (1) weapon or armor of a A, B, C, or D class. There is a limit of one student per Mentor in a month when it comes to the special discount; however if either might need to stop and take up with a new Mentor/Student due to extenuating circumstances, they can still use previous times logged provided those times add up to the necessary weeks.

The time spent mentoring is only applicable when the subject being taught or discussed is about physical combat, strategy, soldiering or any of the sanctioned martial techniques. Anything off topic is not considered usable for the logged mentor times. There is, however, a number of items that can be both discussed and practice to improve the student’s range of understanding and skill, and above all else, to foster a better fighter within a world that emphasizes Might makes Right.
