The tale of Rebecca and...tiffin?

Postby Rebecca of Valaris on Sun Jan 07, 2018 1:58 am

And lo it came to pass that the hour struck eleven in the morn. Which for Rebecca meant only one thing. Tea. With biscuits.

It was a habit she had quite grown fond of - even when out riding, and on this day this was the case when the hour struck.

Of course, now a woman of means, she didn't have to make it herself any more. That's what followers are there for....

"Megs, poppet. Tiffin time, what?" she asks of her girl Friday. "Ah. Indeed m'lady but..." Megan shuffled awkwardly in her saddle as she replied "..no maid. No squire. Afraid m'lady's fondness for the riding crop has rendered them all quite black and blue ma'am. Not fit to ride....and besides they are still chained up in your dungeon ma'am"

A thunderous looking Rebecca turns in her own saddle. "Gods alive woman. Are you seriously trying to tell me that..I cannot free the sorest for the teas?!"

*gets her coat....*

In days of yore, Bob the Barbarian, stoutest of all the barbarians in the frozen north was out fishing in his canoe. He was caught in a terrible snow storm that sent him far out to sea, far from the fjords and glaciers of his home. Frigid winds blew, freezing the spray and spume as it whipped over him, leaving a frozen crust on his canoe. After many hours the wind dropped, but he was in the midst of a freezing ocean, no land in sight, frozen nearly unto death. After many fumbled attempts with fumbling fingers frozen even within the bear fur gloves he'd been wearing Bob managed to gather enough nearly dry kindling from his pack, and in a desperate bid to stave off a slow, painful death from exposure managed to get a small, flickering fire going on the front of his canoe. Sadly a freak gust of wind fed oxygen to the fire and spread it all over the front part of the canoe and Bob's whole canoe eventually caught fire and sank, proving that you cannot have your kayak and heat it.
