Indirectly - Something Has To Give

*this was a poem obviously written by Tolwyn during his first years dealing with Ehlanna. apparently, his writing style was a little rusty. that would more than likely have to do with his reluctance to capture anything on parchment when it was not required of him. not originally a poet or author, this may have been one of his beginning works during his years of learning how to read the forests and learn the nature of nature's harmony... and his place within it.*

hath there be nothing left of boy I once was, for he lies now on the floor at foot of my bed. through day and night, trail and trial, can I feel more of mine own sweat and blood ooze into soil beneath my feet. through my toes do I sense my soul slip into earth, never to be seen again by mine own eyes. and through this all, do I hear one voice mocking me from on high. must I suffer arrogance of this angel of pain much longer, or shall my spirit finally sing out in rage and prove to her I am not the weakling she believes me to be? never matter with my heart, for t'is frail body of mine which needs the strength. fury aplenty buried within would fuel me, but no longer might emotion alone light my darkening path. need I the brawn of my elders, nay my ancestors, in order to stay a-pace with this taskmistress. yet do I know I must succeed despite her dire attentions to weakness within mine own body and soul. for I am no mere whelp for her to discard once training is done. am I not son to best of druids? I shall overcome all she lay before me as burden and obstacle, for she is no more eternal than I.

*when found, Ehlanna's loyal slave icu ayeo takes it to her from her weekly herb gathering. recognizing the seal on the center of the scroll as one from Ehlanna's currently growing pile of tearmarked parchments, she takes it by wing to her beloved Mistress, yelling for her notice the moment she gets in range. handing to Ehlanna the scroll - covered in dust as it was, with the fingermarks of a much larger person all over it - icu ayeo tells Ehlanna of the dynamic and onimous stranger of angry words who accidentally dropped it from his bag of scrolls. not telling icu ayeo of her knowing this stranger, Ehlanna quickly takes the script and kisses icu ayeo lovingly before tucking it away to be read later that evening - alone...*
