Legends of Belariath

Mozenwrathe

Ebon Ivory - Infidelis Nex

suit me well and rewarded will you be;
life is fleet of foot when betrayed am I.
a burnished blade held with care -
rivulets of the final bloody gasps vein her.
would it but make me weep,
for only the beauty of death must I honour.
fall before me and plead your case.
death shall come swift and glorious from my hand.
merciless is one more title I despise,
implying room within my fist for remorse.
condor feathers line my arrows well,
their wings long and coursing with power.
could I but taste their breathtaking peace of flight
never could anything disrupt me.
shelter never sanctum have I taken.
dragon's rage I know not fear of -
lazy behemoths too easily snared on the ground;
find their weakness and take advantage.
breathe out my self-control.
view this world from eyes dispassionate;
reach new depths within my skills.
center the dreams I recreate with my steel.
yawn forth the overcast emotion buried under my heart -
soulless revelry controls my hands.
moonlit night lords over the graceful stalker:
ultimate quiet is achieved through patience.
whitened bones could be legacy mine -
care shall be taken to prolong my own life
the final sights of my foes will not be of me,
for milky visions of their lives will greet them at the last.
gilded blades coat themselves in the blood of the fallen.
intercept my rage with your foolish lies,
learn the ways my fieldish mind improves the circle of life.
hell itself supports my campaign;
think you dare obstruct my progress?
